"عَنْ وَائِلِ بْنِ حجْرٍ أنَّ رَجُلًا يُقَالُ لَهُ سُوَيْدُ بْنُ طَارِقٍ سَألَ النَّبِىَّ ﷺ عَنْ الَخْمرِ فَنَهاهُ فَقَالَ: أصْنَعُهَا لِلدَّوَاءِ؟ فَقَالَ النَّبىُّ ﷺ إِنَّهَا دَاءٌ وَلَيْسَتْ بِدَوَاءٍ".

[Machine] It is said that Suwaid bin Tariq asked the Prophet ﷺ about alcohol, and he forbade it. Suwaid then said, "I make it for medicine." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Indeed, it is a disease and not a cure."

[Machine] Suwaibid bin Tarik asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about alcohol, and he prohibited him from making it. He said, "Indeed, it is a medicine." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said, "Verily, it is not a medicine, but it is a disease."  

الدارمي:٢١٤٠أَخْبَرَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا سِمَاكٌ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنَ وَائِلٍ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ وَائِلٍ

[Machine] Swaid ibn Tariq asked the Prophet ﷺ about alcohol and said, "We make it." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade him from doing so. Swaid ibn Tariq then said, "O Messenger of Allah, it is a medicine." The Prophet ﷺ replied, "It is not a medicine, rather it is a disease."
