The Prophet ﷺ said, "Do not abuse my companions for if any one of you spent gold equal to Uhud (in Allah's Cause) it would not be equal to a Mudd or even a half Mudd spent by one of them."
قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «لاَ تَسُبُّوا أَصْحَابِي! فَلَوْ أَنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ أَنْفَقَ مِثْلَ أُحُدٍ ذَهَبًا مَا بَلَغَ مُدَّ أَحَدِهِمْ وَلاَ نَصِيفَهُ۔»
Do not revile my Companions, do not revile my Companions. By Him in Whose Hand is my life, if one amongst you would have spent as much gold as Uhud it would not amount to as much as one much on behalf of one of them or half of it.

[Machine] We asked, "O Messenger of Allah, are we better or those who came after us?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If one of them had the equivalent of a mountain of gold that he spends in the cause of Allah, it would not reach the level of one of you or even half of it."
قُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَنَحْنُ خَيْرٌ أَمْ مَنْ بَعْدَنَا؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَوْ أَنَّ لِأَحَدِهِمْ مِثْلَ أَحَدٍ ذَهَبًا يُنْفِقُهُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ مَا بَلَغَ مُدَّ أَحَدِكُمْ وَلَا نَصِيفَهُ»

"دَعُوا لى أَصحابِى، فَوالذى نَفْسى بيدِه لو أَنفقتم مثلَ أُحُد ذهبًا ما بلغتم أَعمالهم".
"دَعُوا لى أصحابِى؛ فإِن أحَدكم لو أَنفق مثلَ أُحُد ذهبًا لم يبلغ مُدَّ أَحدِهم ولا نَصِيفَهُ".
"لَوْ أَنَّ لأحَدِهِمْ مِثْلَ أُحُدٍ ذَهبا ينفِقُهُ فِي سَبِيلِ الله مَا بَلَغَ مُدَّ أَحَدِكمْ وَلَا نَصِيفَه".
"لَوْ أَنْفَقَ أَحَدُهُم أُحُدًا ذَهبًا مَا بَلَغَ مُدَّ أَحَدِكمْ وَلَا نَصِيفَه".
"مَا شَأنُكُمْ وَشَأنُ أَصْحَابِى، ذَرُوا لِي أَصْحَابِى، فَوَالَّذِى نَفْسِى بِيَدِهِ لَوْ أَنْفَقَ أَحَدُكُمْ مِثْلَ أُحُدٍ ذَهَبًا مَا أَدْرَكَ مِثْلَ عمل أَحَدِهِم يَوْمًا وَاحدًا هـ.
"لا تَسُبُّوا أَصْحَابِي، فَوَ الَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَوْ أَنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ أَنْفَقَ مِثْلَ أُحُدٍ ذَهَبًا مَا بَلَغَ مُدَّ أَحَدِهِمْ وَلَا نَصِيفَهُ".
