I heard the Prophet ﷺ delivering a sermon at ʿArafat saying, "If a Muhrim does not find slippers, he could wear Khuffs (socks made from thick fabric or leather, but he has to cut short the Khuffs below the ankles), and if he does not find an Izar (a waist sheet for wrapping the lower half of the body) he could wear trousers."

سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ بِعَرَفَاتٍ مَنْ لَمْ يَجِدِ النَّعْلَيْنِ فَلْيَلْبَسِ الْخُفَّيْنِ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ إِزَارًا فَلْيَلْبَسْ سَرَاوِيلَ لِلْمُحْرِمِ

The Prophet ﷺ delivered a sermon at ʿArafat and said, "Whoever does not get an Izar can wear trousers, and whoever cannot get a pair of shoes can wear Khuffs (socks made from thick fabric or leather)."

خَطَبَنَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بِعَرَفَاتٍ فَقَالَ مَنْ لَمْ يَجِدِ الإِزَارَ فَلْيَلْبَسِ السَّرَاوِيلَ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدِ النَّعْلَيْنِ فَلْيَلْبَسِ الْخُفَّيْنِ

The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever cannot get an Izar, can wear trousers, and whoever cannot wear sandals can wear Khuffs (socks made from thick fabric or leather)."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ إِزَارًا فَلْيَلْبَسْ سَرَاوِيلَ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ نَعْلَيْنِ فَلْيَلْبَسْ خُفَّيْنِ

The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever has no Izar (waist sheet), can wear trousers; and whoever has no sandals, can wear Khuffs (socks made from thick fabric or leather, but cut them short below the ankles)."

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ إِزَارٌ فَلْيَلْبَسِ السَّرَاوِيلَ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ نَعْلاَنِ فَلْيَلْبَسْ خُفَّيْنِ

I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ say as he was delivering an address: So far as the trousers are concerned, one who does not find lower garment, he may wear them; as also socks, he may wear them who does not find shoes. It concerns the Muhrim.

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ يَخْطُبُ يَقُولُ السَّرَاوِيلُ لِمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدِ الإِزَارَ وَالْخُفَّانِ لِمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدِ النَّعْلَيْنِ يَعْنِي الْمُحْرِمَ

He who does not find shoes to wear may wear socks, and he who does not find lower garment to wear may put on trousers.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ نَعْلَيْنِ فَلْيَلْبَسْ خُفَّيْنِ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ إِزَارًا فَلْيَلْبَسْ سَرَاوِيلَ

Ibn ‘Abbas said I heard the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ say When one who is wearing ihram cannot get a lower garment(loin cloth) he may ear trousers and when he cannot get sandals he may wear shoes. Abu Dawud said This is the tradition narrated by the narrators of Makkah. Its narrator from Basrah is Jabir bin Zaid. He mentioned only trousers and omitted the mention of cutting of the shoes.

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ السَّرَاوِيلُ لِمَنْ لاَ يَجِدُ الإِزَارَ وَالْخُفُّ لِمَنْ لاَ يَجِدُ النَّعْلَيْنِ

He heard the Messenger of Allah say: "If the Muhrim cannot find an Izar, then let him wear pants, and if he cannot find sandals, them let him wear Khuff."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ الْمُحْرِمُ إِذَا لَمْ يَجِدِ الإِزَارَ فَلْيَلْبَسِ السَّرَاوِيلَ وَإِذَا لَمْ يَجِدِ النَّعْلَيْنِ فَلْيَلْبَسِ الْخُفَّيْنِ

'Pants (are allowed) for one who cannot find an Izar, and Khuffs for one who cannot find sandals to wear in Ihram.;;

سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ السَّرَاوِيلُ لِمَنْ لاَ يَجِدُ الإِزَارَ وَالْخُفَّيْنِ لِمَنْ لاَ يَجِدُ النَّعْلَيْنِ لِلْمُحْرِمِ

"I heard the Messenger of Allah say; 'If you cannot find an Izar then wear pants, and if you cannot find sandals then wear khuffs, but cut them so that they come lower than the ankles.

That the Prophet said "If a Muhrim cannot find sandals then let him wear Khuffs, and cut them, so that they come lower than the ankles.''

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا لَمْ يَجِدِ الْمُحْرِمُ النَّعْلَيْنِ فَلْيَلْبَسِ الْخُفَّيْنِ وَلْيَقْطَعْهُمَا أَسْفَلَ مِنَ الْكَعْبَيْنِ

He heard the Prophet [SAW] say in 'Arafat: "Whoever cannot find an Izar (waist wrapper), let him wear trousers, and whoever cannot find sandals, let him wear Khuffs (leather socks)."

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ بِعَرَفَاتٍ فَقَالَ مَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ إِزَارًا فَلْيَلْبَسِ السَّرَاوِيلَ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ نَعْلَيْنِ فَلْيَلْبَسْ خُفَّيْنِ

“I heard the Prophet ﷺ delivering a sermon – (one of the narrators) Hisham said: ‘On the pulpit’ – and he said: ‘Whoever does not have a waist wrap, let him wear pants or pajamas, and whoever does not have sandals, let him wear leather socks.’” In his narration, Hisham said: “If he does not find any, then let him wear pants or pajamas.”

سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ قَالَ هِشَامٌ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ فَقَالَ مَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ إِزَارًا فَلْيَلْبَسْ سَرَاوِيلَ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ نَعْلَيْنِ فَلْيَلْبَسْ خُفَّيْنِ وَقَالَ هِشَامٌ فِي حَدِيثِهِ فَلْيَلْبَسْ سَرَاوِيلَ إِلاَّ أَنْ يَفْقِدَ

“Whoever does not have sandals let him wear leather socks, and let him cut them to below the ankle.”

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ نَعْلَيْنِ فَلْيَلْبَسْ خُفَّيْنِ وَلْيَقْطَعْهُمَا أَسْفَلَ مِنَ الْكَعْبَيْنِ

He heard the Prophet [SAW] say in 'Arafat: "Whoever cannot find an Izar (waist wrapper), let him wear trousers, and whoever cannot find sandals, let him wear Khuffs (leather socks)." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5325)

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ إِزَارًا فَلْيَلْبَسْ سَرَاوِيلَ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ نَعْلَيْنِ فَلْيَلْبَسْ خُفَّيْنِ» قَالَ قُلْتُ أَوْ قِيلَ أَيَقْطَعُهُمَا؟ قَالَ لَا

خَطَبَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَقَالَ إِذَا لَمْ يَجِدِ الْمُحْرِمُ إِزَارًا فَلْيَلْبَسِ السَّرَاوِيلَ وَإِذَا لَمْ يَجِدِ النَّعْلَيْنِ فَلْيَلْبَسِ الْخُفَّيْنِ

'Whoever cannot find an Izar, let him wear pants, and whoever cannot find sandals, let him wear khuffs." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2672)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَقَالَ مَرَّةً سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺيَخْطُبُ يَقُولُ مَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ نَعْلَيْنِ فَلْيَلْبَسْ خُفَّيْنِ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ إِزَارًا فَلْيَلْبَسْ سَرَاوِيلَ

[AI] He informed him that he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ giving a sermon and saying, "Whoever does not find a lower garment and finds trousers should wear them, and whoever does not find sandals and finds shoes should wear them." I said, "Should they not be cut?" He said, "No."

أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ مَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ إِزَارًا وَوَجَدَ سَرَاوِيلَ فَلْيَلْبَسْهَا وَمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ نَعْلَيْنِ وَوَجَدَ خُفَّيْنِ فَلْيَلْبَسْهُمَا قُلْتُ لَمْ يَقُلْ لِيَقْطَعْهُمَا قَالَ لَا

'Whoever cannot find an Izar, let him wear pants, and whoever cannot find sandals, let him wear khuffs." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2672)

The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever cannot get an Izar, can wear trousers, and whoever cannot wear sandals can wear Khuffs (socks made from thick fabric or leather)." (Using translation from Bukhārī 5804)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ نَعْلَيْنِ فَلْيَلْبَسْ خُفَّيْنِ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ إِزَارًا فَلْيَلْبَسْ سَرَاوِيلَ

Yahya related to me from Malik from 'Abdullah ibn Dinar that Abdullah ibn Umar said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade anyone in ihram to wear a garment which had been dyed with saffron or yellow dye, and said, 'Anyone that cannot find sandals can wear leather socks, but he should cut them off below the ankles.' "

أَنَّهُ قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنْ يَلْبَسَ الْمُحْرِمُ ثَوْبًا مَصْبُوغًا بِزَعْفَرَانٍ أَوْ وَرْسٍ وَقَالَ مَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ نَعْلَيْنِ فَلْيَلْبَسْ خُفَّيْنِ وَلْيَقْطَعْهُمَا أَسْفَلَ مِنَ الْكَعْبَيْنِ

'Whoever cannot find an Izar, let him wear pants, and whoever cannot find sandals, let him wear khuffs." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2672)

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «السَّرَاوِيلُ لِمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدِ الْإِزَارَ وَالْخُفَّانِ لِمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدِ النَّعْلَيْنِ»

[AI] The translation is: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Underwear is for those who cannot find a waist wrapper (izār), and slippers are for those who cannot find shoes."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «السَّرَاوِيلُ لِمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدِ الْإِزَارَ وَالْخُفَّانِ لِمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدِ النَّعْلَيْنِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Pants are for those who cannot find a lower garment (izār), and sandals are for those who cannot find two shoes."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «السَّرَاوِيلُ لِمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدِ الْإِزَارَ وَالْخُفَّانِ لِمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدِ النَّعْلَيْنِ»

[AI] He said, "Pants are for those who do not find a loincloth, and sandals are for those who do not find shoes." I said, "So what about your companion who says such and such?"

أَنَّهُ قَالَ «السَّرَاوِيلُ لِمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدِ الْإِزَارَ وَالْخُفَّانِ لِمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدِ النِّعَالَ» قَالَ قُلْتُ فَمَا بَالُ صَاحِبِكُمْ يَقُولُ كَذَا وَكَذَا؟ *

'Whoever cannot find an Izar, let him wear pants, and whoever cannot find sandals, let him wear khuffs." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2672)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ لَمْ يَجِدِ الْإِزَارَ فَلْيَلْبَسِ سَرَاوِيلَ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدِ النَّعْلَيْنِ فَلْيَلْبَسِ الْخُفَّيْنِ»

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Whoever wears silk in this world will not wear it in the Hereafter."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ لَبِسَ الْحَرِيرَ فِي الدُّنْيَا لَمْ يَلْبَسْهُ فِي الْآخِرَةِ»

[AI] "That the Prophet ﷺ permitted for the pilgrim to wear trousers if he does not find an izar (garment worn around the waist), and to wear socks if he does not find sandals."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ «رَخَّصَ لِلْمُحْرِمِ فِي السَّرَاوِيلِ إِذَا لَمْ يَجِدْ إِزَارًا وَفِي الْخُفَّيْنِ إِذَا لَمْ يَجِدِ النَّعْلَيْنِ»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "If one does not find a lower garment (izār), he should wear trousers (sarāwīl) and whoever does not find shoes (na'alayn), should wear sandals (khuffayn)."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِذَا لَمْ يَجِدِ الْمُحْرِمُ إِزَارًا فَلْيَلْبَسْ سَرَاوِيلَ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ نَعْلَيْنِ فَلْيَلْبَسْ خُفَّيْنِ»

The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever cannot get an Izar, can wear trousers, and whoever cannot wear sandals can wear Khuffs (socks made from thick fabric or leather)." (Using translation from Bukhārī 5804)

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If one cannot find a waist wrap (izār), he should wear pants (sirāwīl), and if one cannot find two sandals (naʿlayn), he should wear two footwear (khuffayn)."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «الْمُحْرِمُ إِذَا لَمْ يَجِدِ الْإِزَارَ فَلْيَلْبَسِ السَّرَاوِيلَ وَإِذَا لَمْ يَجِدِ النَّعْلَيْنِ فَلْيَلْبَسِ الْخُفَّيْنِ»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ addressed them and said, "If the pilgrim does not find an 'izar (waist wrap), then let him wear sarawil (pants). And if he does not find na'lain (leather sandals), then let him wear khuffayn (leather socks)."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ خَطَبَهُمْ فَقَالَ «إِذَا لَمْ يَجِدِ الْمُحْرِمُ إِزَارًا فَلْيَلْبَسْ سَرَاوِيلَ وَإِذَا لَمْ يَجِدْ نَعْلَيْنِ فَخُفَّيْنِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ delivered a sermon to the people at Arafah and said, "Whoever does not find sandals should wear slippers, and whoever does not find a waistcloth should wear pants."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ خَطَبَ النَّاسَ بِعَرَفَةَ فَقَالَ «مَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ نَعْلَيْنِ فَلْيَلْبَسْ خُفَّيْنِ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ إِزَارًا فَلْيَلْبَسْ سَرَاوِيلَ»

I heard the Prophet ﷺ delivering a sermon at ʿArafat saying, "If a Muhrim does not find slippers, he could wear Khuffs (socks made from thick fabric or leather, but he has to cut short the Khuffs below the ankles), and if he does not find an Izar (a waist sheet for wrapping the lower half of the body) he could wear trousers." سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ بِعَرَفَاتٍ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ «مَنْ لَمْ يَجِدِ النَّعْلَيْنِ فَلْيَلْبَسِ الْخُفَّيْنِ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ إِزَارًا فَلْيَلْبَسْ سَرَاوِيلَ»

[AI] He informed him that he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Whoever does not find a waist-wrap but finds trousers, let him wear them, and whoever does not find two sandals but finds two socks, let him wear them."

أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ لَمْ يَجِدِ الْإِزَارَ وَوَجَدَ سَرَاوِيلَ فَلْيَلْبَسْهُ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ نَعْلَيْنِ وَوَجَدَ خُفَّيْنِ فَلْيَلْبَسْهُمَا»

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Whoever wears silk in the worldly life, will not wear it in the hereafter."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ لَبِسَ الْحَرِيرَ فِي الدُّنْيَا لَمْ يَلْبَسْهُ فِي الْآخِرَةِ»
