9. Book of Ṣalāh (12/30)
[Machine] "What I have not forgotten of things is that I have never forgotten to greet the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in prayer, by saying 'Peace be upon you, O Messenger of Allah, and the mercy of Allah. Peace be upon you, and the mercy of Allah.' Then he ﷺ said, 'It is as if I am seeing the whiteness of his cheeks.'"
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to gesture one salutation with his right hand, inclined by which his face would be turned towards the Qiblah (direction of prayer).
[Machine] I heard Anas bin Malik saying, "Indeed, the Prophet ﷺ used to prefer or turn away from his right side."
“ ‘Abdullah (bin Mas’ud) said: ‘None of you should apportion within himself a part (of his prayer) thinking that it is a right of Allah upon him that he must only turn to his right to leave after finishing the prayer. I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and most of the time he turned to his left.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 930)
Hulb prayed along with the Prophet ﷺ. He used to turn to both his sides (sometimes to the left and sometimes to the right). (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1041)
[Machine] "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would generally go to the rooms that were to the left."
“When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said the Salam, he would sit only for as long as it took to say: ‘Allahumma Antas-Salam wa minkas-salam. Tabarakta ya Dhal-jalali wal- ikram. (O Allah, You are As-Salam, From You is all peace, blessed are You O Possessor of majesty and honour).’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 924)
After saying the taslim the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would say: "Allahumma anta as-salam wa minka as-salam tabarakta ya dhal-jalali wal-ikram (O Allah, You are the source of eace (or the One free from all faults) and from You comes peace, blessed are You, O Possessor of Majesty and Honor)." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1338)
“Allahumma Antas-Salam wa minkas-salam tabarakta ya Dhal-jalali wal- ikram” (O Allah, You are As-Salam and from You is all peace, Blessed are You O Possessor of majesty and honour).” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 928)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Recite the Mu'awwidhat (i.e., the last three surahs of the Quran: Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq, and An-Nas) after every prayer."
"Mu'awiyah wrote to al-Mughirah b. Shu'bah: 'What would the the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recite when he gave Taslim (salutation) in the prayer ?' Al-Mughirah dictated and wrote to Mu'awiyah: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say (at the end of the prayer after taslim): 'There is no God but Allah, Alone, Who has no partner, to Him belongs the dominion, to Him praise is due, and He is Omnipotent. O Allah no one cane withhold what You give and give what You withhold, and none benefits the fortunate person, for from You is the fortune. '" (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1505)
Muawiyah wrote to Al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah saying: "Tell me of something that you heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ." He said: "When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ finished praying, he would say: La Ilaha Illallah wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul-mulk wa lahul-hamd wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadir. (There is none worthy of worship except Allah ﷺ alone with no partner or associate. He is the Dominion and to Him be all praise, and He is able to do all things. O Allah, one can withhold what You have given and none can give what You have withheld, and no wealth or fortune can benefit anyone for from You comes all wealth and fortune.)'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1341)
"Al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah wrote to Mu'awiyah (Saying) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say following every prayer, after the taslim: 'La Ilaha Illallah wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul-mulk wa lahul-hamd wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadir. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1342)

"Umm Sulaim came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: 'O Messenger of Allah ﷺ, teach me some words that I may supplicate with during my prayer.' He said: 'Glorify Allah (by saying SubhanAllah) ten times, and praise Him (by saying Alhamdulilah) ten times, and magnify Him (by saying Allahu Akbar) ten times, then ask Him for what you need; He will say: 'Yes, yes.' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1299)
“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘There are two characteristics which no Muslim man acquires but he will enter Paradise. They are easy but those who do them are few. At the end of every prayer he should glorify Allah (by saying Subhan Allah) ten times, extol Him (by saying Allahu Akbar) ten times, and praise Him (by saying Al-Hamdu Lillah) ten times.’ I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ counting them on his hand. ‘That is one hundred and fifty (after all the prayers of the day) on the tongue, and one thousand and five hundred on the Scale. And when he goes to his bed, let him glorify Allah and praise Him and extol Him one hundred times. That will be one hundred on the tongue and one thousand on the Scale. Who among you does two thousand and five hundred evil actions in one day?’ They said: ‘Who would not be keen to do that?’ He said: ‘But the Shaitan comes to anyone of you while he is performing prayer and says: ‘Remember such and such, remember such and such,” until the person becomes distracted and does not understand (what he is saying). And he comes to him when he is in his bed, and makes him sleepy such that he sleeps.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 926)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever glorifies Allah thirty-three times, praises Him thirty-three times, and declares His greatness thirty-three times after every prayer, and concludes with declaring His oneness, that there is no deity except Allah alone, with no partner, to Him belongs all sovereignty and praise, and He is capable of all things; his sins will be forgiven, even if they were as abundant as the foam on the sea."
[Machine] The poor people came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "The wealthy have gone with their abundant wealth to the higher levels and constant blessings. They pray as we pray, fast as we fast, and they have extra wealth with which they perform Hajj, Umrah, strive in the cause of Allah, and give in charity." He ﷺ said, "Shall I not inform you of something through which you will surpass those who preceded you and those who will come after you, and no one can exceed you except someone who does the same as you do?" They said, "Yes, Messenger of Allah." He ﷺ said, "You should say Tahmid (saying 'Al-hamdu lillah'), Tahlil (saying 'La ilaha illallah'), and Tasbih (saying 'Subhanallah') thirty-three times after every Salah (prayer)."

AbuDharr said: Prophet of Allah. The wealthy people have all the rewards; they pray as we pray; they fast as we fast; and they have surplus wealth which they give in charity; but we have no wealth which we may give in charity. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: AbuDharr, should I not teach you phrases by which you acquire the rank of those who excel you? No one can acquire your rank except one who acts like you. He said: Why not, Messenger of Allah? He said: Exalt Allah (say: Allah is Most Great) after each prayer thirty-three times; and praise Him (say: Praise be to Allah) thirty-three times; and glorify Him (say: Glory be to Allah) thirty-three times, and end it by saying, "There is no god but Allah alone, there is no partner, to Him belongs the Kingdom, to Him praise is due and He has power over everything". His sins will be forgiven, even if they are like the foam of the sea. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1504)

[Machine] We sent the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a secret mission. When we reached the caves, I untethered my horse and raced ahead of my companions. Suddenly, the rocks echoed with a sound, and I said, "Say 'There is no god but Allah' for your safety," and they said it. My companions abandoned me and declared that we were forbidden from taking any spoils of war after they had already been in our hands.
