ذِكْرُ الْخَبَرِ الْمُصَرِّحِ بِإِبَاحَةِ السَّمَرِ بَعْدَ عِشَاءِ الْآخِرَةِ إِذَا كَانَ ذَلِكَ مِمَّا يُجْدِي نَفْعُهُ عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِينَ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to stay up at night talking with Abu Bakr ؓ , discussing some affairs of the Muslims, and I was with him. (Using translation from Aḥmad 178)   

ابن حبّان:٢٠٣٤ – أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ قَالَ

«كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لَا يَزَالُ يَسْمُرُ عِنْدَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ اللَّيْلَةَ فِي الْأَمْرِ مِنْ أُمُورِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَإِنَّهُ سَمَرَ عِنْدَهُ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ وَأَنَا مَعَهُ»

ahmad:228 – Abū Muʿāwiyah > al-Aʿmash > Ibrāhīm > ʿAlqamahaʿan ʿUmar

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was staying up late one night with Abu Bakr, discussing some issue of the Muslims, and I was with him.  

أحمد:٢٢٨ – حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَعَنْ عُمَرَ قَالَ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَسْمُرُ عِنْدَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ اللَّيْلَةَ كَذَاكَ فِي الْأَمْرِ مِنْ أَمْرِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَأَنَا مَعَهُ

"عَنْ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَسْمِرُ عِنْدَ أَبِى بَكْرٍ اللَّيْلَ كَذَلِكَ فِي الأَمْرِ مِنْ أُمُورِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَأَنَا مَعَهُ".
