٩۔ كِتَابُ الصَّلَاةِ ص ٦
ذِكْرُ إِثْبَاتِ طَعْمِ الْإِيمَانِ لِمَنْ قَالَ مَا وَصَفْنَا عِنْدَ الْأَذَانِ يَسْمَعُهُ مُعْتَقِدًا لِمَا يَقُولُ
that he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "Whoever is pleased with Allah as (his) Lord, and Islam as (his) religion, and Muhammad as (his) Prophet, then he has tasted the sweetness of faith." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2623)
أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «ذَاقَ طَعْمَ الْإِيمَانِ مَنْ رَضِيَ بِاللَّهِ رَبًّا وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ نَبِيًّا»
ذِكْرُ رَجَاءِ اسْتِجَابَةِ الدُّعَاءِ لِمَنْ قَالَ مِثْلَ مَا يَقُولُ الْمُؤَذِّنُ إِذَا سَمِعَهُ
A man said: Messenger of Allah, the mu'adhdhins excel us. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Say (the same words) as they say, and when you come to the end, make a petition and that will be granted to you. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 524)
يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ الْمُؤَذِّنِينَ يَفْضُلُونَنَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «قُلْ كَمَا يَقُولُونَ فَإِذَا انْتَهَيْتَ فَسَلْ تُعْطَهْ»
ذِكْرُ اسْتِحْبَابِ الْإِكْثَارِ مِنَ الدُّعَاءِ بَيْنَ الْأَذَانِ وَالْإِقَامَةِ إِذِ الدُّعَاءُ بَيْنَهُمَا لَا يُرَدُّ
The supplication made between the adhan and the iqamah is not rejected. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 521)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «الدُّعَاءُ بَيْنَ الْأَذَانِ وَالْإِقَامَةِ يُسْتَجَابُ فَادْعُوا»
9.9 [Machine] Conditions of Prayer
٩۔٩ بَابُ شُرُوطِ الصَّلَاةِ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "We were favored over the people in three ways: The entire earth has been made a mosque for us, and its soil has been made pure for us; our rows of prayer have been made like the rows of angels, and I have been given these verses from the end of Surah Al-Baqarah as a treasure beneath the Throne that no one before me has been given, and no one after me will be given."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «فُضِّلْنَا عَلَى النَّاسِ بِثَلَاثٍ جُعِلَتِ الْأَرْضُ كُلُّهَا مَسْجِدًا وَجُعِلَ تُرْبَتُهَا لَنَا طَهُورًا وَجُعِلَتْ صُفُوفُنَا كَصُفُوفِ الْمَلَائِكَةِ وَأُوتِيتُ هَؤُلَاءِ الْآيَاتِ مِنْ آخِرِ سُورَةِ الْبَقَرَةِ مِنْ كَنْزٍ تَحْتَ الْعَرْشِ لَمْ يُعْطَهُ أَحَدٌ قَبْلِي وَلَا يُعْطَى أَحَدٌ بَعْدِي»
ذِكْرُ وَصْفِ التَّخْصِيصِ الْأَوَّلِ الَّذِي يَخُصُّ عُمُومَ تِلْكَ اللَّفْظَةِ الَّتِي تَقَدَّمَ ذِكْرُنَا لَهَا
It was narrated from Abu Sa’eed that the Prophet ﷺ forbade building structures over graves. (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1564)
«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ نَهَى أَنْ يُصَلَّى بَيْنَ الْقُبُورِ»
ذِكْرُ التَّخْصِيصِ الثَّانِي الَّذِي يَخُصُّ عُمُومَ اللَّفْظَةِ الَّتِي ذَكَرْنَاهَا قَبْلُ
"The Messenger of Allah said: 'All the earth is a mosque, except for graveyards and Hammam.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 745)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «الْأَرْضُ كُلُّهَا مَسْجِدٌ إِلَّا الْحَمَّامَ وَالْمَقْبَرَةَ»
ذِكْرُ خَبَرٍ قَدْ يُوهِمُ مَنْ لَمْ يُحْكِمْ صِنَاعَةَ الْحَدِيثِ أَنَّ الزَّجْرَ عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ فِي أَعْطَانِ الْإِبِلِ إِنَّمَا زَجْرٌ لِأَنَّهَا مِنَ الشَّيَاطِينِ خُلِقَتْ
"The Prophet said: 'Perform prayer in the sheep's resting-places and do not perform prayer in the camels' resting-places, for they were created from the devils." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 769)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «صَلُّوا فِي مَرَابِضِ الْغَنَمِ وَلَا تُصَلُّوا فِي مَعَاطِنِ الْإِبِلِ فَإِنَّهَا خُلِقَتْ مِنَ الشَّيَاطِينِ»
ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ قَوْلَهُ ﷺ «فَإِنَّهَا خُلِقَتْ مِنَ الشَّيَاطِينِ» لَفْظَةٌ أَطْلَقَهَا عَلَى الْمُجَاوَرَةِ لَا عَلَى الْحَقِيقَةِ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allahﷺ said: "On the back of every camel, there is a devil. Therefore, when you ride it, say the name of Allah and do not neglect your needs."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «عَلَى ظَهْرِ كُلِّ بَعِيرٍ شَيْطَانٌ فَإِذَا رَكِبْتُمُوهَا فَسَمُّوا اللَّهَ وَلَا تَقْصُرُوا عَنْ حَاجَاتِكُمْ»
ذِكْرُ خَبَرٍ ثَانٍ يُصَرِّحُ بِأَنَّ الزَّجْرَ عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ فِي أَعْطَانِ الْإِبِلِ لَمْ يَكُنْ ذَلِكَ لِأَجَلِ كَوْنِ الشَّيْطَانِ فِيهَا
“I was with Ibn ‘Umar and I lagged behind and prayed Witr. He said: ‘What kept you?’ I said: ‘I was praying Witr.’ He said: ‘Do you not have the best of examples in the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?’ I said: ‘Of course.’ He said: ‘The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray Witr while riding his camel.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1200)
أَلَيْسَ لَكَ فِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ أُسْوَةٌ؟ فَقُلْتُ بَلَى وَاللَّهِ قَالَ «فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُوتِرُ عَلَى الْبَعِيرِ»
ذِكْرُ نَفْيِ قَبُولِ الصَّلَاةِ بِغَيْرِ وُضُوءٍ لِمَنْ أَحْدَثَ
The Prophet ﷺ said: Allah does not accept charity from goods acquired by embezzlement as He does not accept prayer without purification. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 59)
أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَا يَقْبَلُ اللَّهُ صَلَاةً بِغَيْرِ طُهُورٍ وَلَا صَدَقَةً مِنْ غُلُولٍ»
ذِكْرُ الْإِبَاحَةِ لِلْمَرْءِ أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ الصَّلَوَاتِ الْخَمْسَ بِوَضُوءٍ وَاحِدٍ مَا لَمْ يُحْدِثْ بَيْنَهَا
[Machine] "The Prophet ﷺ performed ablution and wiped over his socks, then prayed all the prayers with the same ablution."
«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ تَوَضَّأَ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ وَصَلَّى الصَّلَوَاتِ كُلَّهَا بِوَضُوءٍ وَاحِدٍ»
ذِكْرُ الْوَقْتِ الَّذِي صَلَّى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فِيهِ الصَّلَوَاتِ الْخَمْسَ بِوَضُوءٍ وَاحِدٍ
"The Messenger of Allah used to perform ablution for every prayer, and we used to perform all of the prayers with one ablution." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 509)
«كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَتَوَضَّأُ لِكُلِّ صَلَاةٍ فَلَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ فَتْحِ مَكَّةَ صَلَّى الصَّلَوَاتِ كُلَّهَا بِوَضُوءٍ وَاحِدٍ»
ذِكْرُ السَّبَبِ الَّذِي مِنْ أَجْلِهِ فَعَلَ ﷺ مَا وَصَفْنَا
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed five prayers with the same ablution of the occasion of the capture of Mecca, and he wiped over his socks. ‘Umar said to him(the Prophet): I saw you doing a thing today that you never did. He said: I did it deliberately. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 172)
«صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الصَّلَوَاتِ كُلَّهَا يَوْمَ فَتْحِ مَكَّةَ بِوَضُوءٍ وَاحِدٍ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ» فَقَالَ لَهُ عُمَرُ إِنِّي رَأَيْتُكَ الْيَوْمَ صَنَعْتَ شَيْئًا لَمْ تَكُنْ تَصْنَعُهُ قَبْلَ الْيَوْمِ قَالَ «عَمْدًا فَعَلْتُ يَا عُمَرُ»
ذِكْرُ الْإِبَاحَةِ لِلْمُعْدَمِ الْمَاءَ وَالصَّعِيدِ مَعًا أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ مِنْ غَيْرِ وُضُوءٍ وَلَا تَيَمُّمٍ
She borrowed a necklace from Asma', and she lost it. The Prophet sent some people to look for it, and the time for prayer came so they prayed without ablution. When they came to the Prophet they complained to him about that, then the Verse of dry ablution was revealed. Usaid bin Hudair said: "May Allah reward you with good, for by Allah, nothing ever happens to you but Allah grants you a way out and blesses the Muslims thereby." «أَنَّهَا اسْتَعَارَتْ قِلَادَةً مِنْ أَسْمَاءَ فَهَلَكَتْ فَأَرْسَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ نَاسًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ فِي طَلَبِهَا وَأَدْرَكَتْهُمُ الصَّلَاةُ فَصَلُّوا بِغَيْرِ وُضُوءٍ فَلَمَّا أَتَوَا النَّبِيَّ ﷺ شَكَوْا ذَلِكَ إِلَيْهِ قَالَ فَنَزَلَتْ آيَةُ التَّيَمُّمِ» فَقَالَ أُسَيْدُ بْنُ حُضَيْرٍ «جَزَاكَ اللَّهُ خَيْرًا فَوَاللَّهِ مَا نَزَلَ بِكَ أَمْرٌ قَطُّ إِلَّا جَعَلَ اللَّهُ لَكَ مِنْهُ مَخْرَجًا وَجَعَلَ فِيهِ لِلْمُسْلِمِينَ بَرَكَةً»
ذِكْرُ الْأَمْرِ بِتَغْطِيَةِ فَخِذِهِ إِذِ الْفَخِذُ عَوْرَةٌ
[Machine] "The Prophet ﷺ passed by him while his thigh was uncovered and said, 'Cover it, for it is a private part.'"
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ مَرَّ بِهِ وَقَدْ كَشَفَ فَخِذَهُ فَقَالَ «غَطِّهَا فَإِنَّهَا عَوْرَةٌ»
ذِكْرُ الْأَمْرِ بِالصَّلَاةِ فِي ثَوْبَيْنِ إِذَا قَصَدَ الْمُصَلِّي أَدَاءَ فَرْضِهِ
[Machine] Regarding the Prophet ﷺ, he said, "When one of you prays, let them wear an izar and cover their shoulders."
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِذَا صَلَّى أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَتَّزِرْ وَلْيَرْتَدِ»
ذِكْرُ الْقَدْرِ الَّذِي صَلَّى فِيهِ الْمُسْلِمُونَ إِلَى بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ قَبْلَ الْأَمْرِ بِاسْتِقْبَالِ الْكَعْبَةِ
"When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ arrived in Al-Madinah, he performed Salat facing the direction of Bait Al-Maqdis (Jerusalem) for sixteen or seventeen months. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ longed to face toward the Ka'bah, so Allah, Might and Sublime is He revealed: Verily, WE have seen the turning of your face towards the heave. Surely, We Shall turn your face in the direction of Al-Masjid Al-Haram (2:144). So he faced the direction of the Ka'bah and he longed for that. (One day) a man performed Salat Al-'Asr along with him." He said: "Then he passed by some people of the Ansar performing Salat Al-'Asr, while they were bowing toward Bait Al-Maqdis. He told them that he testifies that he performed Salat with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he had faced the direction of the Ka'bah." He said: "So they turned while they were bowing." «لَمَّا قَدِمَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ الْمَدِينَةَ صَلَّى نَحْوَ بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ سِتَّةَ عَشَرَ شَهْرًا أَوْ سَبْعَةَ عَشَرَ شَهْرًا وَكَانَ يُحِبُّ أَنْ يُوَجَّهَ إِلَى الْكَعْبَةِ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ جَلَّ وَعَلَا {قَدْ نَرَى تَقَلُّبَ وَجْهِكَ فِي السَّمَاءِ فَلَنُوَلِّيَنَّكَ قِبْلَةً تَرْضَاهَا فَوَلِّ وَجْهَكَ شَطْرَ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ} فَمَرَّ رَجُلٌ عَلَى قَوْمٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ وَهُمْ رُكُوعٌ فَقَالَ هُوَ يَشْهَدُ أَنَّهُ قَدْ صَلَّى مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَأَنَّهُ وَجَّهَ إِلَى الْكَعْبَةِ»
ذِكْرُ تَسْمِيَةِ اللَّهِ جَلَّ وَعَلَا صَلَاةَ مَنْ صَلَّى إِلَى بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ فِي تِلْكَ الْمُدَّةِ إِيمَانًا
when the Prophet (May peace be upon him) turned towards the Ka’bah (in prayer), the people asked : Messenger of Allah (May peace be upon him)! what will happen with those who died while they prayed with their faces towards Jerusalem ? Allah the Exalted, then revealed : “And never would Allah make your faith of no effect.” (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4680)
«لَمَّا وُجِّهَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِلَى الْكَعْبَةِ قَالُوا كَيْفَ بِمَنْ مَاتَ مِنْ إِخْوَانِنَا وَهُمْ يُصَلُّونَ نَحْوَ بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ؟ » فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ جَلَّ وَعَلَا {وَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ لِيُضِيعَ إِيمَانَكُمْ}
ذِكْرُ لَفْظَةٍ قَدْ تُوهِمُ غَيْرَ الْمُتَبَحِّرِ فِي صِنَاعَةِ الْعِلْمِ أَنَّ الصَّلَاةَ بِلَا نِيَّةٍ جَائِزَةٌ
[Machine] "Listen and obey, even if the limbs are trembling, and when you make a soup, increase its water, then look at the people of your neighbor's household and share it with them, offer the prayer on time, for if you find that the Imam has already prayed, then you have safeguarded your prayer; otherwise, it will be voluntary."
«اسْمَعْ وَأَطِعْ وَلَوْ لِعَبْدٍ مُجَدَّعِ الْأَطْرَافِ وَإِذَا صَنَعْتَ مَرَقَةً فَأَكْثِرْ مَاءَهَا ثُمَّ انْظُرْ إِلَى أَهْلِ بَيْتٍ مِنْ جِيرَانَكَ فَأَصِبْهُمْ مِنْهُ بِمَعْرُوفٍ وَصَلِّ الصَّلَاةَ لِوَقْتِهَا فَإِنْ وَجَدْتَ الْإِمَامَ قَدْ صَلَّى فَقَدْ أَحْرَزْتَ صَلَاتَكَ وَإِلَّا فَهِيَ نَافِلَةٌ»
ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ قَوْلَهُ ﷺ وَإِلَّا فَهِيَ نَافِلَةٌ أَرَادَ بِهِ الصَّلَاةَ الثَّانِيَةَ لَا الْأُولَى
[Machine] "For me, O Messenger of Allah ﷺ , pray the prayer on time. If you come to a group and they have already prayed, then you have safeguarded your prayer. But if they have not prayed, then you should pray with them, and it will be a voluntary prayer for you."
لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «صَلِّ الصَّلَاةَ لِوَقْتِهَا فَإِنْ أَتَيْتَ الْقَوْمَ وَقَدْ صَلَّوْا كُنْتَ قَدْ أَحْرَزْتَ صَلَاتَكَ وَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُونُوا صَلَّوْا صَلَّيْتَ مَعَهُمْ وَكَانَتْ لَكَ نَافِلَةً»
9.9.3 Subsection
٩۔٩۔٣ ذِكْرُ التَّخْصِيصِ الثَّالِثِ الَّذِي يَخُصُّ عُمُومَ قَوْلِهِ ﷺ جُعِلَتِ الْأَرْضُ كُلُّهَا مَسْجِدًا
The Messenger of Allah said: "If you cannot find anywhere (for prayer) except sheep's resting-places and camels' resting-places, then perform prayer in the sheep's resting-places and do not perform prayer in the camels' resting-places." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 768)
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِذَا لَمْ تَجِدُوا إِلَّا مَرَابِضَ الْغَنَمِ وَمَعَاطِنَ الْإِبِلِ فَصَلُّوا فِي مَرَابِضِ الْغَنَمِ وَلَا تُصَلُّوا فِي أَعْطَانِ الْإِبِلِ»
The Messenger of Allah said: "If you cannot find anywhere (for prayer) except sheep's resting-places and camels' resting-places, then perform prayer in the sheep's resting-places and do not perform prayer in the camels' resting-places." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 768)
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِذَا لَمْ تَجِدُوا إِلَّا مَرَابِضَ الْغَنَمِ وَمَعَاطِنَ الْإِبِلِ فَصَلُّوا فِي مَرَابِضِ الْغَنَمِ وَلَا تُصَلُّوا فِي أَعْطَانِ الْإِبِلِ» *
9.9.13 Subsection
٩۔٩۔١٣ ذِكْرُ الزَّجْرِ عَنْ أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ الْحُرَّةُ الْبَالِغَةُ مِنْ غَيْرِ خِمَارٍ يَكُونُ عَلَى رَأْسِهَا
The Prophet said: "Allah does not accept the prayer of a woman who menstruates (i.e., an adult woman) except with a head cover." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 655)
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا يَقْبَلُ اللَّهُ صَلَاةَ حَائِضٍ إِلَّا بِخِمَارٍ»
[Machine] And he said, "The prayer of a menstruating woman is not valid except with a head covering."
وَقَالَ « صَلَاةَ امْرَأَةٍ حَائِضٍ إِلَّا بِخِمَارٍ»
9.9.15 Subsection
٩۔٩۔١٥ ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ الْأَمْرَ بِالصَّلَاةِ فِي ثَوْبَيْنِ إِنَّمَا أَمَرَ لِمَنْ وَسَّعَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ، وَإِنْ كَانَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ مُجْزِئَةً
[Machine] A man asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , "Should one of us pray in one garment?" He said, "If Allah has granted you enough, then adorn yourselves. A man once prayed in a wraparound garment, a robe over a wraparound garment, a shirt over a wraparound garment, a tunic over trousers, a shirt over trousers, a robe over trousers, and a lower garment over an upper garment." He said, "And I believe he mentioned a lower garment and a robe over it."
سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَيُصَلِّي أَحَدُنَا فِي الثَّوْبِ الْوَاحِدِ؟ قَالَ «إِذَا وَسَّعَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكُمْ فَأَوْسِعُوا عَلَى أَنْفُسِكُمْ جَمَعَ رَجُلٌ عَلَيْهِ ثِيَابَهُ صَلَّى رَجُلٌ فِي إِزَارٍ وَرِدَاءٍ فِي إِزَارٍ وَقَمِيصٍ فِي إِزَارٍ وَقَبَاءٍ فِي سَرَاوِيلَ وَقَمِيصٍ فِي سَرَاوِيلَ وَرِدَاءٍ فِي سَرَاوِيلَ وَقَبَاءٍ فِي تُبَّانٍ وَقَمِيصٍ فِي تُبَّانٍ وَقَبَاءٍ» قَالَ وَأَحْسَبُهُ فِي تُبَّانٍ وَرِدَاءٍ
"While the people were in Quba', praying the Subh prayer, someone came to them and said that revelation had come to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ the night before, and he has been commanded to face the Ka'bah. So they turned around, and they has been facing toward Ash-Sham, but now they turned to face toward the Ka'bah." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 493)
بَيْنَمَا النَّاسُ بِقُبَاءَ فِي صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ إِذْ جَاءَهُمْ آتٍ فَقَالَ لَهُمْ «إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَدْ أَنْزَلَ عَلَيْهِ اللَّيْلَةَ قُرْآنٌ وَقَدْ أُمِرَ أَنْ يَسْتَقْبِلَ الْكَعْبَةَ فَاسْتَقْبِلُوهَا وَكَانَتْ وُجُوهُهُمْ إِلَى الشَّامِ فَاسْتَدَارُوا إِلَى الْكَعْبَةِ»
9.10 [Machine] The virtue of the five daily prayers
٩۔١٠ بَابُ فَضْلِ الصَّلَوَاتِ الْخَمْسِ
ذِكْرُ فَتْحِ أَبْوَابِ السَّمَاءِ عِنْدَ دُخُولِ أَوْقَاتِ الصَّلَوَاتِ الْمَفْرُوضَاتِ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There are two moments in which the gates of heaven open: during the time of prayer and when lining up in the path of Allah."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «سَاعَتَانِ تُفْتَحُ فِيهِمَا أَبْوَابُ السَّمَاءِ عِنْدَ حُضُورِ الصَّلَاةِ وَعِنْدَ الصَّفِّ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ»
ذِكْرُ إِثْبَاتِ الْإِيمَانِ لِلْمُحَافِظِ عَلَى الصَّلَوَاتِ
The Messenger of Allah said: "If you see a man frequenting the mosques, then bear witness to his faith. Allah says: 'The mosques of Allah shall be maintained only by those who believe in Allah and the Last Day. [At-Taubah: 18]'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 802)
عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «إِذَا رَأَيْتُمُ الرَّجُلَ يَعْتَادُ الْمَسْجِدَ فَاشْهَدُوا عَلَيْهِ بِالْإِيمَانِ» قَالَ اللَّهُ جَلَّ وَعَلَا {إِنَّمَا يَعْمُرُ مَسَاجِدَ اللَّهِ مَنْ آمَنَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ}
ذِكْرُ الْخَبَرِ الدَّالِّ عَلَى أَنَّ الصَّلَاةَ الْفَرِيضَةَ أَفْضَلُ مِنَ الْجِهَادِ الْفَرِيضَةِ
[Machine] A man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and asked him about the best deeds. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "Prayer." The man then asked, "And then what?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Prayer." The man asked again, "And then what?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "Prayer." This exchange happened three times. Then the man asked, "And then what?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "Jihad in the way of Allah." The man said, "But I have elderly parents." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Be good to your parents." The man insisted, "By the One who sent you as a prophet, I will strive and not leave them." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "Then you know better."
أَنَّ رَجُلًا جَاءَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَسَأَلَهُ عَنْ أَفْضَلِ الْأَعْمَالِ قَالَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «الصَّلَاةُ» قَالَ ثُمَّ مَهْ؟ قَالَ «ثُمَّ الصَّلَاةُ» قَالَ ثُمَّ مَهْ؟ قَالَ «ثُمَّ الصَّلَاةُ» ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ قَالَ ثُمَّ مَهْ؟ قَالَ «ثُمَّ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ» قَالَ فَإِنَّ لِي وَالِدَيْنِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «آمُرُكَ بِوَالِدَيْكَ خَيْرًا» فَقَالَ وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ نَبِيًّا لَأُجَاهِدَنَّ وَلَأَتْرُكَنَّهُمَا قَالَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «فَأَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ»
ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ الصَّلَاةَ قُرْبَانٌ لِلْعَبِيدِ يَتَقَرَّبُونَ بِهَا إِلَى بَارِئِهِمْ جَلَّ وَعَلَا
[Machine] Verily, the Prophet ﷺ said, "O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, I seek refuge in Allah for you from the leadership of the foolish. Indeed, there will be leaders who, when people come to them, they assist them in their wrongdoing and authenticate their lies. They are not from me and I am not from them, and I will not meet them at the Lake-Fount. But whoever does not go to them, and does not help them in their wrongdoing, and does not authenticate their lies, then he is from me and I am from him. And he will meet me at the Lake-Fount. O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, prayer is a means of nearness, fasting is a shield, and charity extinguishes sins as water extinguishes fire. And people will come, offering themselves for sale, freeing themselves or bringing destruction upon themselves. O Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah, indeed, flesh grown from unlawful things will not enter Paradise."
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «يَا كَعْبُ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ أُعِيذُكَ بِاللَّهِ مِنْ إِمَارَةِ السُّفَهَاءِ إِنَّهَا سَتَكُونُ أُمَرَاءُ مَنْ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ وَصَدَّقَهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي وَلَسْتُ مِنْهُ وَلَنْ يَرِدَ عَلَيَّ الْحَوْضَ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَدْخُلْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَمْ يُعِنْهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ وَلَمْ يُصَدِّقْهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ فَهُوَ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُ وَسَيَرِدُ عَلَيَّ الْحَوْضَ يَا كَعْبُ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ الصَّلَاةُ قُرْبَانٌ وَالصَّوْمُ جُنَّةٌ وَالصَّدَقَةُ تُطْفِئُ الْخَطِيَّةَ كَمَا يُطْفِئُ الْمَاءُ النَّارَ وَالنَّاسُ غَادِيَانِ فَمُبْتَاعٌ نَفْسَهُ فَمُعْتِقٌ رَقَبَتَهُ وَمُوبِقُهَا يَا كَعْبُ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ إِنَّهُ لَا يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ لَحْمٌ نَبَتَ مِنْ سُحْتٍ»
ذِكْرُ إِثْبَاتِ الْفَلَاحِ لِمُصَلِّي الصَّلَوَاتِ الْخَمْسِ
A man from among the people of Najd with disheveled hair came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The humming sound of his voice could be heard but what he was saying could not be understood. He came closer and it was then known that he was asking about Islam. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Five times of prayer each day and night: He asked: Must I observe any more than them? He replied: No, unless you do it voluntarily. He (Talhah) said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ mentioned fasting during the month of Ramadan. He asked: Must I observe anything else? He replied: No, unless you do it voluntarily. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ mentioned Zakat to him. He asked: Must I pay anything else? He replied: No, unless you do it voluntarily. The man then turned away saying: I swear by Allah, I shall not add anything to this or fall short of it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The man will be successful if he speaks truth. أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ طَلْحَةَ بْنَ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ مِنْ أَهْلِ نَجْدٍ ثَائِرَ الرَّأْسِ يُسْمَعُ دَوِيُّ صَوْتِهِ وَلَا يُفْقَهُ مَا يَقُولُ حَتَّى دَنَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَإِذَا هُوَ يَسْأَلُ عَنِ الْإِسْلَامِ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «خَمْسُ صَلَوَاتٍ فِي الْيَوْمِ وَاللَّيْلَةِ» قَالَ هَلْ عَلَيَّ غَيْرُهُنَّ؟ قَالَ «لَا إِلَّا أَنْ تَطَوَّعَ» قَالَ وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «وَصِيَامُ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ» قَالَ هَلْ عَلَيَّ غَيْرُهُ؟ قَالَ «لَا إِلَّا أَنْ تَطَوَّعَ» قَالَ وَذَكَرَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الزَّكَاةَ فَقَالَ هَلْ عَلَيَّ غَيْرُهَا؟ قَالَ «لَا إِلَّا أَنْ تَطَوَّعَ» قَالَ فَأَدْبَرَ الرَّجُلُ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ وَاللَّهِ لَا أَزِيدُ عَلَى هَذَا وَلَا أَنْقُصُ مِنْهُ شَيْئًا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «أَفْلَحَ إِنْ صَدَقَ»
ذِكْرُ تَمْثِيلِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ مُصَلِّيَ الصَّلَوَاتِ الْخَمْسِ بِالْمُغْتَسِلِ فِي نَهْرٍ جَارٍ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The example of the obligatory prayers is like a flowing river at the door of one of you, from which he washes himself five times a day."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَثَلُ الصَّلَوَاتِ الْمَكْتُوبَاتِ كَمَثَلِ نَهْرٍ جَارٍ عَلَى بَابِ أَحَدِكُمْ يَغْتَسِلُ مِنْهُ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ خَمْسَ مَرَّاتٍ»
ذِكْرُ الْخَبَرِ الْمُدْحِضِ قَوْلَ مَنْ زَعَمَ أَنَّ هَذَا الْخَبَرَ تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ الْأَعْمَشُ
"Do you think that is there was a river by the door of any one of you, and he bathed in it five times each day, would there be any trace of dirt left on him?" They said: "No trace of dirt would be left on him." He said: "That is the likeness of the five daily prayers. By means of them Allah erases sins." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 462)
أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «أَرَأَيْتُمْ لَوْ أَنَّ نَهْرًا بِبَابِ أَحَدِكُمْ يَغْتَسِلُ مِنْهُ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ خَمْسَ مَرَّاتٍ مَا تَقُولُونَ؟ هَلْ يُبْقِي مِنْ دَرَنِهِ شَيْئًا؟ » قَالُوا لَا يَبْقَى مِنْ دَرَنِهِ شَيْءٌ قَالَ «ذَلِكَ مَثَلُ الصَّلَوَاتِ الْخَمْسِ يَمْحُو اللَّهُ بِهِ الْخَطَايَا»
ذِكْرُ تَكْفِيرِ الصَّلَوَاتِ الْخَمْسِ الْحَدَّ عَنْ مُرْتَكِبِهِ
[Machine] A man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have committed a sin, so please establish the punishment upon me." He turned away from him. Then he said again, "O Messenger of Allah, I have committed a sin, so please establish the punishment upon me." Again, he turned away from him. Then the prayer was performed, and when he finished, he said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have committed a sin, so please establish the punishment upon me." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, "Did you perform ablution when you came?" He said, "Yes." He asked, "Did you pray with us?" He said, "Yes." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Then go, for surely Allah has forgiven you."
جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي أَصَبْتُ حَدًّا فَأَقِمْهُ عَلَيَّ قَالَ فَأَعْرَضَ عَنْهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي أَصَبْتُ حَدًّا فَأَقِمْهُ عَلَيَّ فَأَعْرَضَ عَنْهُ ثُمَّ أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَلَمَّا سَلَّمَ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي أَصَبْتُ حَدًّا فَأَقِمْهُ عَلَيَّ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «هَلْ تَوَضَّأْتَ حِينَ أَقْبَلْتَ؟ » قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ «صَلَّيْتَ مَعَنَا؟ » قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ «فَاذْهَبْ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ غَفَرَ لَكَ»
ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ الْحَدَّ الَّذِي أَتَى هَذَا السَّائِلُ لَمْ يَكُنْ بِمَعْصِيَةٍ تُوجِبُ الْحَدَّ
[Machine] "A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, 'I had relations with a woman in the garden, and I did everything except getting married to her. So, do with me whatever you wish.' The Prophet ﷺ remained silent. Then he called the man and recited the following verse to him: "Perform the prayer at the two ends of the day and at the approach of the night. Indeed, good deeds remove bad deeds."
«جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ إِنِّي أَخَذْتُ امْرَأَةً فِي الْبُسْتَانِ فَأَصَبْتُ مِنْهَا كُلَّ شَيْءٍ إِلَّا أَنِّي لَمْ أَنْكِحْهَا فَافْعَلْ بِي مَا شِئْتَ فَلَمْ يَقُلْ لَهُ شَيْئًا ثُمَّ دَعَاهُ فَقَرَأَ عَلَيْهِ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ» {أَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ طَرَفَيِ النَّهَارِ وَزُلَفًا مِنَ اللَّيْلِ إِنَّ الْحَسَنَاتِ يُذْهِبْنَ السَّيِّئَاتِ}
ذِكْرُ خَبَرٍ ثَانٍ يَدُلُّ عَلَى أَنَّ هَذَا الْفِعْلَ لَمْ يَكُنْ بِفِعْلٍ يُوجِبُ الْحَدَّ، مَعَ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ حُكْمَ هَذَا السَّائِلِ وَحُكْمَ غَيْرِهِ مِنْ أُمَّةِ الْمُصْطَفَى ﷺ فِيهِ سَوَاءٌ
“And perform prayers at the two ends of the day and in some hours of the night. Verily, the good deeds remove the evil deeds. That is a reminder for the mindful.” [11:114] The man said: “O Messenger of Allah, is this (the Verse) just for me?” He said: “It is for whoever acts upon it among my nation.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 4254)
أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ أَنَّهُ أَصَابَ مِنَ امْرَأَةٍ قُبْلَةً كَأَنَّهُ يَسْأَلُ عَنْ كَفَّارَتِهَا فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ جَلَّ وَعَلَا {أَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ طَرَفَيِ النَّهَارِ وَزُلَفًا مِنَ اللَّيْلِ إِنَّ الْحَسَنَاتِ يُذْهِبْنَ السَّيِّئَاتِ ذَلِكَ ذِكْرَى لِلذَّاكِرِينَ} قَالَ فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ أَلِي هَذِهِ؟ قَالَ «هِيَ لِمَنْ عَمِلَ بِهَا مِنْ أُمَّتِي»
ذِكْرُ خَبَرٍ ثَالِثٍ يُصَرِّحُ بِصِحَّةِ مَا ذَكَرْنَاهُ
[Machine] A man said, "O Messenger of Allah, I met a woman in the garden, and I embraced her, kissed her, engaged in foreplay with her, and did everything with her except for intercourse." The Messenger of Allah remained silent, so Allah revealed, "Establish prayer at the two ends of the day and at the approach of the night. Indeed, good deeds do away with misdeeds. That is a reminder for those who remember." The Messenger of Allah called him and recited it to him, then Umar asked, "O Messenger of Allah, is this verse specific to him?" The Messenger of Allah said, "No, it is for all people."
رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي لَقِيتُ امْرَأَةً فِي الْبُسْتَانِ فَضَمَمْتُهَا إِلَيَّ وَقَبَّلْتُهَا وَبَاشَرْتُهَا وَفَعَلْتُ بِهَا كُلَّ شَيْءٍ إِلَّا أَنِّي لَمْ أُجَامِعْهَا فَسَكَتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ جَلَّ وَعَلَا {أَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ طَرَفَيِ النَّهَارِ وَزُلَفًا مِنَ اللَّيْلِ إِنَّ الْحَسَنَاتِ يُذْهِبْنَ السَّيِّئَاتِ ذَلِكَ ذِكْرَى لِلذَّاكِرِينَ} قَالَ فَدَعَاهُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَرَأَهَا عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُ عُمَرُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَلَهُ خَاصَّةً؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «بَلْ لِلنَّاسِ كَافَّةً»
ذِكْرُ نَفْيِ الْعَذَابِ فِي الْقِيَامَةِ عَمَّنْ أَتَى الصَّلَوَاتِ الْخَمْسِ بِحُقُوقِهَا
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Whoever fulfills the five daily prayers, perfecting them, will have no deficiency in his rights with Allah. He will have a covenant with Allah that he will not be punished. And whoever fulfills them, but with some deficiencies in his rights, will not have a covenant with Allah. If Allah wills, He will have mercy on him, and if He wills, He will punish him."
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ جَاءَ بِالصَّلَوَاتِ الْخَمْسِ قَدْ أَكْمَلَهُنَّ لَمْ يَنْقُصْ مِنْ حَقِّهِنَّ شَيْئًا كَانَ لَهُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ عَهْدٌ أَنْ لَا يُعَذِّبَهُ وَمَنْ جَاءَ بِهِنَّ وَقَدِ انْتَقَصَ مِنْ حَقِّهِنَّ شَيْئًا فَلَيْسَ لَهُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ عَهْدٌ إِنْ شَاءَ رَحِمَهُ وَإِنْ شَاءَ عَذَّبَهُ»
ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ الْحَقَّ الَّذِي فِي هَذَا الْخَبَرِ قُصِدَ بِهِ الْإِيجَابُ
[Machine] I heard Abu Muhammad Al-Ansari say, "Witr prayer is obligatory." Ubada said, "Abu Muhammad is lying. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Allah has made five prayers obligatory upon His servants. Whoever fulfills them, completing and not diminishing them out of neglecting their rights, Allah will have a covenant with him to enter Paradise. And whoever fulfills them but diminishes them out of neglecting their rights, Allah will not have a covenant with him. He may either punish him or show him mercy.'"
سَمِعْتُ أَبَا مُحَمَّدٍ الْأَنْصَارِيَّ يَقُولُ الْوِتْرُ وَاجِبٌ فَقَالَ عُبَادَةُ كَذَبَ أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «خَمْسُ صَلَوَاتٍ افْتَرَضَهُنَّ اللَّهُ عَلَى عِبَادِهِ فَمَنْ جَاءَ بِهِنَّ وَقَدْ أَكْمَلَهُنَّ وَلَمْ يَنْتَقِصْهُنَّ اسْتِخْفَافًا بِحَقِّهِنَّ كَانَ لَهُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ عَهْدٌ أَنْ يُدْخِلَهُ الْجَنَّةَ وَمَنْ جَاءَ بِهِنَّ وَقَدِ انْتَقَصَهُنَّ اسْتِخْفَافًا بِحَقِّهِنَّ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ عَهْدٌ إِنْ شَاءَ عَذَّبَهُ وَإِنْ شَاءَ رَحِمَهُ»
ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ جَلَّ وَعَلَا إِنَّمَا يَغْفِرُ بِالصَّلَوَاتِ الْخَمْسِ ذُنُوبَ مُصَلِّيهَا إِذَا كَانَ مُجْتَنِبًا لِلْكَبَائِرِ دُونَ مَنْ لَمْ يَجْتَنِبْهَا
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "The five daily prayers and the Friday prayer until the next Friday are expiations for what is between them, as long as major sins are avoided."
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «الصَّلَوَاتُ الْخَمْسُ وَالْجُمُعَةُ إِلَى الْجُمُعَةِ كَفَّارَاتٌ لَمَّا بَيْنَهُنَّ مَا لَمْ يَغْشَ الْكَبَائِرَ»
ذِكْرُ تَسَّاقَطِ الْخَطَايَا عَنِ الْمُصَلِّي بِرُكُوعِهِ وَسُجُودِهِ
[Machine] "If I knew Abdullah, I would have instructed him to prolong the bowing and prostration, as I heard the Prophet ﷺ say, 'When a person stands to pray, his sins are brought and placed on his head or shoulders, so whenever he bows or prostrates, they fall away from him.'"
عَبْدُ اللَّهِ لَوْ كُنْتُ أَعْرِفُهُ لَأَمَرْتُهُ أَنْ يُطِيلَ الرُّكُوعَ وَالسُّجُودَ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ الْعَبْدَ إِذَا قَامَ يُصَلِّي أُتِيَ بِذُنُوبِهِ فَوَضَعَتْ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ أَوْ عَاتِقِهِ فَكُلَّمَا رَكَعَ أَوْ سَجَدَ تَسَاقَطَتْ عَنْهُ»
ذِكْرُ حَطِّ الْخَطَايَا وَرَفْعِ الدَّرَجَاتِ لِمَنْ سَجَدَ فِي صَلَاتِهِ لِلَّهِ ﷻ
"I met Thawban the freed slave of Messenger of Allah (S) and said to him, 'Guide me to a deed by which Allah benefit me, and for which Allah will admit me into Paradise.' He was silent for quite a while, then he turned to me and said: 'Perform prostrations, for I heard Messenger of Allah (S) saying: 'No worshipper performs a prostration to Allah except that by it, Allah will raise him a level, and erase a sin from him for it.'" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 388)
لَقِيتُ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ حَدِّثْنِي بِحَدِيثٍ عَسَى اللَّهُ أَنْ يَنْفَعَنِي بِهِ فَقَالَ عَلَيْكَ بِالسُّجُودِ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ يَسْجُدُ لِلَّهِ سَجْدَةً إِلَّا رَفَعَ اللَّهُ لَهُ بِهَا دَرَجَةً وَحَطَّ عَنْهُ بِهَا خَطِيئَةً»
ذِكْرُ تَعَاقُبِ الْمَلَائِكَةِ عِنْدَ صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ وَالْفَجْرِ
"Angels come to you in succession by night and day, and they meet at Fajr prayer and 'Asr prayer. Then those who spent the night among you ascend, and He (Allah) will ask them, although He knows best: 'In what condition did you leave My slaves.' They will say: 'We left them when they were praying and we came to them when they were praying.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 485)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «يَتَعَاقَبُونَ فِيكُمْ مَلَائِكَةٌ اللَّيْلِ وَمَلَائِكَةُ النَّهَارِ فَيَجْتَمِعُونَ فِي صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ وَصَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ ثُمَّ يَعْرُجُ إِلَيْهِ الَّذِينَ بَاتُوا فِيكُمْ فَيَسْأَلُهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ * أَعْلَمُ بِهِمْ كَيْفَ تَرَكْتُمْ عِبَادِي؟ قَالُوا تَرَكْنَاهُمْ وَهُمْ يُصَلُّونَ وَأَتَيْنَاهُمْ وَهُمْ يُصَلُّونَ»
ذِكْرُ تَعَاقُبِ الْمَلَائِكَةِ عِنْدَ صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ وَالْغَدَاةِ
"Angels come to you in succession by night and day, and they meet at Fajr prayer and 'Asr prayer. Then those who spent the night among you ascend, and He (Allah) will ask them, although He knows best: 'In what condition did you leave My slaves.' They will say: 'We left them when they were praying and we came to them when they were praying.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 485)
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «يَتَعَاقَبُونَ فِيكُمْ مَلَائِكَةٌ بِاللَّيْلِ وَمَلَائِكَةٌ بِالنَّهَارِ وَيَجْتَمِعُونَ فِي صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ وَصَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ ثُمَّ يَعْرُجُ الَّذِينَ بَاتُوا فِيكُمْ فَيَسْأَلُهُمْ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ كَيْفَ تَرَكْتُمْ عِبَادِي؟ فَيَقُولُونَ تَرَكْنَاهُمْ وَهُمْ يُصَلُّونَ وَأَتَيْنَاهُمْ وَهُمْ يُصَلُّونَ»
ذِكْرُ نَفْيِ دُخُولِ النَّارِ عَمَّنْ صَلَّى الْعَصْرَ وَالْغَدَاةَ
"I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'He will never enter the Fire, the one who prays before the sun rises and before it sets.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 471)
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا يَلِجُ النَّارَ أَحَدٌ صَلَّى قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ غُرُوبِهَا»
ذِكْرُ تَسْمِيَةِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ الْعَصْرَ وَالْغَدَاةَ، بَرْدَيْنِ
My father said, "Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Whoever prays the two cool prayers (ʿAsr and Fajr) will go to Paradise.' " (Using translation from Bukhārī 574)
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ صَلَّى الْبَرْدَيْنِ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ»
ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ الْأَمْرَ بِالْمُحَافَظَةِ عَلَى الْعَصْرَيْنِ إِنَّمَا هُوَ أَمْرُ تَأْكِيدٍ عَلَيْهِمَا مِنْ بَيْنِ الصَّلَوَاتِ لَا أَنَّهُمَا يُجْزِيَانِ عَنِ الْكُلِّ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ taught us and among what he taught us, he said, "Guard the prayers and guard the two sunsets." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, what are the two sunsets?" He said, "Prayer before the rising of the sun and prayer before its setting."
عَلَّمَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَكَانَ فِيمَا عَلَّمَنَا قَالَ «حَافِظُوا عَلَى الصَّلَوَاتِ وَحَافِظُوا عَلَى الْعَصْرَيْنِ» قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَمَا الْعَصْرَانِ؟ قَالَ «صَلَاةٌ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَصَلَاةٌ قَبْلَ غُرُوبِهَا»
ذِكْرُ إِثْبَاتِ ذِمَّةِ اللَّهِ جَلَّ وَعَلَا لِلْمُصَلِّي صَلَاةَ الْغَدَاةِ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever prays the Fajr prayer, he is under the protection of Allah. Fear Allah, O son of Adam, lest Allah seeks from you something that is under His protection."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ « مَنْ صَلَّى الْغَدَاةَ فَهُوَ فِي ذِمَّةِ اللَّهِ فَاتَّقِ اللَّهَ يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ أَنْ يَطْلُبَكَ اللَّهُ بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ ذِمَّتِهِ»
9.10.21 Subsection
٩۔١٠۔٢١ ذِكْرُ وَصْفِ الْبَرْدَيْنِ اللَّذَيْنِ يُرْجَى دُخُولُ الْجَنَّةِ بِالصَّلَاةِ عِنْدَهُمَا
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Whoever prays before the rising of the sun and before its setting will not enter the fire (of Hell)." A man from the people asked, "Did you hear this hadith from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ?" He replied, "Yes."
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَنْ يَلِجَ النَّارَ مَنْ صَلَّى قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ غُرُوبِهَا» فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ أَنْتَ سَمِعْتَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ
[Machine] I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and I embraced Islam, and he taught me the five daily prayers at their appointed times. I said to him, "These are the hours during which I am occupied, so show me a mosque." He said, "If you are occupied, do not neglect the 'Asr and Fajr prayers." I asked, "And what are the 'Asr and Fajr prayers?" He said, "The morning prayer and the afternoon prayer."
أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَأَسْلَمْتُ وَعَلَّمَنِي الصَّلَوَاتِ الْخَمْسَ فِي مَوَاقِيتِهَا قَالَ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ إِنَّ هَذِهِ سَاعَاتٌ أَشْتَغِلُ فِيهَا فَمُرْ لِي بِجَوَامِعَ قَالَ فَقَالَ «إِنْ شُغِلْتَ فَلَا تُشْغَلْ عَنِ الْعَصْرَيْنِ» قَالَ قُلْتُ وَمَا الْعَصْرَانِ؟ قَالَ «صَلَاةُ الْغَدَاةِ وَصَلَاةُ الْعَصْرِ»
