ذِكْرُ الْإِبَاحَةِ لِلْمُعْدَمِ الْمَاءَ وَالصَّعِيدِ مَعًا أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ مِنْ غَيْرِ وُضُوءٍ وَلَا تَيَمُّمٍ

ibnhibban:1709Muḥammad b. Isḥāq b. Khuzaymah > Abū Kurayb > Abū Usāmah > Hishām b. ʿUrwah from his father > ʿĀʾishah

She borrowed a necklace from Asma', and she lost it. The Prophet sent some people to look for it, and the time for prayer came so they prayed without ablution. When they came to the Prophet they complained to him about that, then the Verse of dry ablution was revealed. Usaid bin Hudair said: "May Allah reward you with good, for by Allah, nothing ever happens to you but Allah grants you a way out and blesses the Muslims thereby." ابن حبّان:١٧٠٩أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

«أَنَّهَا اسْتَعَارَتْ قِلَادَةً مِنْ أَسْمَاءَ فَهَلَكَتْ فَأَرْسَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ نَاسًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ فِي طَلَبِهَا وَأَدْرَكَتْهُمُ الصَّلَاةُ فَصَلُّوا بِغَيْرِ وُضُوءٍ فَلَمَّا أَتَوَا النَّبِيَّ ﷺ شَكَوْا ذَلِكَ إِلَيْهِ قَالَ فَنَزَلَتْ آيَةُ التَّيَمُّمِ» فَقَالَ أُسَيْدُ بْنُ حُضَيْرٍ «جَزَاكَ اللَّهُ خَيْرًا فَوَاللَّهِ مَا نَزَلَ بِكَ أَمْرٌ قَطُّ إِلَّا جَعَلَ اللَّهُ لَكَ مِنْهُ مَخْرَجًا وَجَعَلَ فِيهِ لِلْمُسْلِمِينَ بَرَكَةً»

During their journey the time of prayer was due and they prayed without ablution. When they returned to the Prophet ﷺ they complained about it. So the Divine Verse of Tayammum was revealed. Usaid bin Hudair said (to ʿAisha), "May Allah reward you handsomely. By Allah, whenever you have a difficulty, Allah took you out of it and brought with it, a Blessing for the Muslims."

In the meantime the stated time for the prayer became due and they offered their prayer without ablution. When they came to the Prophet, they complained about it to him, so the Verse regarding Tayammum was revealed . Usaid bin Hudair said, "(O ʿAisha!) may Allah bless you with a good reward, for by Allah, never did a difficulty happen in connection with you, but Allah made an escape from it for you, and brought Allah's Blessings for the Muslims."

May Allah grant you a good reward! Never has been there an occasion when you were beset with difficulty and Allah did not make you come out of that and made it an occasion of blessing for the Muslims.

[Machine] A necklace with the names of Allah, may they be destroyed, was lost, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent some of his companions to look for it. They were overtaken by the prayer, so they prayed without performing ablution. When they came to the Prophet ﷺ , they complained about it to him. Then the verse of tayammum was revealed. Usaid ibn Hudair said, "May Allah reward you with goodness! By Allah, never has an affair been revealed to you except that Allah makes a way out for you from it and brings blessings to the Muslims through it."
