Messenger of Allah ﷺ reached Khaibar in the early morning and the people of Khaibar came out with their spades, and when they saw the Prophet ﷺ they said, "Muhammad and his army!" and returned hurriedly to take refuge in the fort. The Prophet ﷺ raised his hands and said, "Allah is Greater! Khaibar is ruined ! If we approach a nation, then miserable is the morning of those who are warned."

سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ ؓ يَقُولُ صَبَّحَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ خَيْبَرَ بُكْرَةً وَقَدْ خَرَجُوا بِالْمَسَاحِي فَلَمَّا رَأَوْهُ قَالُوا مُحَمَّدٌ وَالْخَمِيسُ وَأَحَالُوا إِلَى الْحِصْنِ يَسْعَوْنَ فَرَفَعَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَدَيْهِ وَقَالَ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ خَرِبَتْ خَيْبَرُ إِنَّا إِذَا نَزَلْنَا بِسَاحَةِ قَوْمٍ فَسَاءَ صَبَاحُ الْمُنْذَرِينَ

This hadith has been transmitted on the authority of Anas b. Malik with a slight variation of words.

لَمَّا أَتَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ خَيْبَرَ قَالَ إِنَّا إِذَا نَزَلْنَا بِسَاحَةِ قَوْمٍ فَسَاءَ صَبَاحُ الْمُنْذَرِينَ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed Fajr on the day of Khaibar during the time it was still dark, when he was near the enemy. Then he attacked them and said: 'Allahu Akbar! Khaibar is destroyed!' Twice. 'Then, when it descends in their courtyard, evil will be the morning for those who had been warned!'" [1] [1] As-Saffat 37:177

صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ صَلاَةَ الصُّبْحِ بِغَلَسٍ وَهُوَ قَرِيبٌ مِنْهُمْ فَأَغَارَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَقَالَ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ خَرِبَتْ خَيْبَرُ مَرَّتَيْنِ إِنَّا إِذَا نَزَلْنَا بِسَاحَةِ قَوْمٍ فَسَاءَ صَبَاحُ الْمُنْذَرِينَ

[AI] I heard Anas ibn Malik saying, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ attacked Khaybar in the morning, while they had already gone out for their work in the fields. When they saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, they said, 'Muhammad and the group have come.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ raised his hands and said, 'Allahu Akbar (Allah is the Greatest)! Khaybar is destroyed. Whenever we descend upon a nation's territory, then the morning of those who are warned will be severe.'"

سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُ صَبَّحَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ خَيْبَرَ بُكْرَةً وَقَدْ خَرَجُوا بِالْمَسَاحِي فَلَمَّا نَظَرُوا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالُوا مُحَمَّدٌ وَالْخَمِيسُ فَرَفَعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَدَيْهِ وَقَالَ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ خَرِبَتْ خَيْبَرُ إِنَّا إِذَا نَزَلْنَا بِسَاحَةِ قَوْمٍ فَسَاءَ صَبَاحُ الْمُنْذَرِينَ

[AI] "The fighting intensified on the day of Khaybar, and I was among the ranks of Abu Talhah. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Allahu Akbar! Khaybar is destroyed. Whenever we descend upon a people's territory, it is a morning of distress for the warned.'"

اشْتَدَّ الْقِتَالُ يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ فَكُنْتُ رَدِيفَ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ خَرِبَتْ خَيْبَرُ إِنَّا إِذَا نَزَلْنَا بِسَاحَةِ قَوْمٍ فَسَاءَ صَبَاحُ الْمُنْذَرِينَ»

قَالَ كُنْتُ رِدْفَ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ حِينَ أَتَيْنَا خَيْبَرَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّا إِذًا نَزَلْنَا بِسَاحَةِ قَوْمٍ فَسَاءَ صَبَاحُ الْمُنْذَرِينَ

قَالَ صَبَّحَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ خَيْبَرَ بُكْرَةً وَقَدْ خَرَجُوا بِالْمَسَاحِي فَقَالَ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ خَرِبَتْ خَيْبَرُ إِنَّا إِذًا نَزَلْنَا بِسَاحَةِ قَوْمٍ فَسَاءَ صَبَاحُ الْمُنْذَرِينَ وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ رَوَاهُ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ عَن أَنَس ابْنُ عُيَينة وَمَعْمَرٌ

أَن رَسولَ اللهِ ﷺ لَمَّا أَتَى خَيْبَرَ قَالَ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ خَرِبَتْ خَيْبَرُ إِنَّا إِذًا نَزَلْنَا بِسَاحَةِ قَوْمٍ فَسَاءَ صَبَاحُ الْمُنْذَرِينَ وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لا نَعْلَمُ رَوَاهُ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ عَن قَتادة عَن أَنَس إلاَّ النَّضْرُ بْنُ شميل

قَالَ كُنْتُ رَدِيفَ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ يَوْمَ أَتَيْنَا خَيْبَرَ وَبِأَيْدِيهِمُ الْمَسَاحِي يَؤْتُونَ الْمَاءَ فَلَمَّا رَأَوْنَا أَلْقَوْا مَا فِي أَيْدِيهِمْ وَقَالُوا مُحَمد وَالْخَمِيسُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ خَرِبَتْ خَيْبَرُ إِنَّا إِذًا نَزَلْنَا بِسَاحَةِ قَوْمٍ فَسَاءَ صَبَاحُ الْمُنْذَرِينَ وَعَمْرُو بْنُ سَعِيد رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَصْرَةِ رَوَى عَنْهُ أَيُّوبُ وَيُونُسُ وَابن عَوْنٍ وَدَاوُدُ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited the following verse when he arrived in the morning at the area of a certain tribe: "So the morning of those who were warned was not good."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ لَمَّا صَبَّحَ خَيْبَرَ تَلَا هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ إِنَّا إِذَا نَزَلْنَا بِسَاحَةِ قَوْمٍ {فَسَاءَ صَبَاحُ الْمُنْذَرِينَ}

صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ بِغَلَسٍ وَهُوَ قَرِيبٌ مِنْهُمْ فَأَغَارَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَقَالَ «اللهُ أَكْبَرُ خَرِبَتْ خَيْبَرُ إِنَّا إِذَا نَزَلْنَا بِسَاحَةِ قَوْمٍ فَسَاءَ صَبَاحُ الْمُنْذَرِينَ»

"الله أكبَرُ خَرِبتْ خَيبر إِنَّا إذا نَزَلنَا بِسَاحَة قَوْم فَسَاءَ صَبَاحُ المنذَرِينَ ".

"اللهُ أكبَرُ خَرِبتْ حيبرُ، اللهَ أكْبَرُ فُتِحَت خَيبَرُ، إِنا إِذَا نَزَلنَا بِقَوْمٍ فسَاءَ صَبَاحُ المَنْذَرِينَ ".

"عن أبى طلحة، قال: كنت ردف رسول الله ﷺ يوم خيبر، فلما انتهينا وقد خرجوا بالمساحى، فلما رأونا، قالوا: محمد والله محمد، والْخَمِيس (*)، فقال رسول الله ﷺ الله أكبر، إنا إذا نزلنا بساحة قوم فساء صباح المنذرين".

"عن أبى طلحة أن نبى الله ﷺ لما صبح خيبر، تلا هذه الآية {فَإِذَا نَزَلَ بِسَاحَتِهِمْ فَسَاءَ صَبَاحُ الْمُنْذَرِينَ} ".
