This hadith has been transmitted on the authority of Anas b. Malik with a slight variation of words.

لَمَّا أَتَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ خَيْبَرَ قَالَ إِنَّا إِذَا نَزَلْنَا بِسَاحَةِ قَوْمٍ فَسَاءَ صَبَاحُ الْمُنْذَرِينَ

[Machine] "The fighting intensified on the day of Khaybar, and I was among the ranks of Abu Talhah. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Allahu Akbar! Khaybar is destroyed. Whenever we descend upon a people's territory, it is a morning of distress for the warned.'"

اشْتَدَّ الْقِتَالُ يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ فَكُنْتُ رَدِيفَ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ خَرِبَتْ خَيْبَرُ إِنَّا إِذَا نَزَلْنَا بِسَاحَةِ قَوْمٍ فَسَاءَ صَبَاحُ الْمُنْذَرِينَ»

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited the following verse when he arrived in the morning at the area of a certain tribe: "So the morning of those who were warned was not good."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ لَمَّا صَبَّحَ خَيْبَرَ تَلَا هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ إِنَّا إِذَا نَزَلْنَا بِسَاحَةِ قَوْمٍ {فَسَاءَ صَبَاحُ الْمُنْذَرِينَ}

"الله أكبَرُ خَرِبتْ خَيبر إِنَّا إذا نَزَلنَا بِسَاحَة قَوْم فَسَاءَ صَبَاحُ المنذَرِينَ ".

"إِنَّا إِذا نزلنا بساحةِ قومٍ فساءَ صباحُ المُنْذَرين، قاله ﷺ ، لمَّا نزل خَبْيرَ وفتحها فقال: اللَّه أَكبرُ، خَرِبَتْ خَيْبَرُ. إِنا إِذا نزلنا الحديث".

"عن أبى طلحة أن نبى الله ﷺ لما صبح خيبر، تلا هذه الآية {فَإِذَا نَزَلَ بِسَاحَتِهِمْ فَسَاءَ صَبَاحُ الْمُنْذَرِينَ} ".
