the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up on the Day of the conquest of Makkah, on the steps of the Ka'bah. He praised and glorified Allah (SWT), then he said: “Praise is to Allah (SWT) who has fulfilled His promise, granted victory to His slave and defeated the Confederates alone. The one who is killed by mistake is the one who is killed with a whip or a stick; for him the blood money is one hundred camels, of which forty should be pregnant she-camels with their youngs in their wombs. Every custom of Ignorance period, and every blood claim, is beneath these two feet of mine (i.e. is abolished), except for the custodianship of the Ka'bah and the provision of water for the pilgrims, which I confirm still belong to the people to whom they belonged before.”  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَامَ يَوْمَ فَتْحِ مَكَّةَ وَهُوَ عَلَى دَرَجِ الْكَعْبَةِ فَحَمِدَ اللَّهَ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي صَدَقَ وَعْدَهُ وَنَصَرَ عَبْدَهُ وَهَزَمَ الأَحْزَابَ وَحْدَهُ أَلاَ إِنَّ قَتِيلَ الْخَطَإِ قَتِيلَ السَّوْطِ وَالْعَصَا فِيهِ مِائَةٌ مِنَ الإِبِلِ مِنْهَا أَرْبَعُونَ خَلِفَةً فِي بُطُونِهَا أَوْلاَدُهَا أَلاَ إِنَّ كَلَّ مَأْثُرَةٍ كَانَتْ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ وَدَمٍ تَحْتَ قَدَمَىَّ هَاتَيْنِ إِلاَّ مَا كَانَ مِنْ سِدَانَةِ الْبَيْتِ وَسِقَايَةِ الْحَاجِّ أَلاَ إِنِّي قَدْ أَمْضَيْتُهُمَا لأَهْلِهِمَا كَمَا كَانَا  

[Machine] On the authority of a Companion of the Prophet ﷺ , it is reported that the Prophet ﷺ delivered a sermon on the day of the conquest of Mecca, saying, "There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah alone. He fulfilled His promise and aided His servant, and He alone defeated the Confederates." Hushaym said, "Praise be to Allah, the One who fulfilled His promise and aided His servant. Surely, every idolatrous practice that existed during the times of ignorance will be regarded and considered as such. Every drop of blood or claim for compensation made will be brought under my feet, except for the rights of the Kaaba and the water of the pilgrims. And behold, the compensation for an intentionally killed person is a severe fine of one hundred camels, forty of which are in its belly as offspring. And once, he also said, 'Forty are owed by both the Thaniyah and Basel tribes until their end. All of them are to be transferred as inheritance.'"  

عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ خَطَبَ يَوْمَ فَتْحِ مَكَّةَ فَقَالَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ نَصَرَ عَبْدَهُ وَهَزَمَ الْأَحْزَابَ وَحْدَهُ قَالَ هُشَيْمٌ مَرَّةً أُخْرَى الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي صَدَقَ وَعْدَهُ وَنَصَرَ عَبْدَهُ أَلَا إِنَّ كُلَّ مَأْثَرَةٍ كَانَتْ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ تُعَدُّ وَتُدَّعَىوَكُلَّ دَمٍ أَوْ دَعْوَى مَوْضُوعَةٌ تَحْتَ قَدَمَيَّ هَاتَيْنِ إِلَّا سِدَانَةَ الْبَيْتِ وَسِقَايَةَ الْحَاجِّ أَلَا وَإِنَّ قَتِيلَ خَطَأِ الْعَمْدِ قَالَ هُشَيْمٌ مَرَّةً بِالسَّوْطِ وَالْعَصَا وَالْحَجَرِ دِيَةٌ مُغَلَّظَةٌ مِائَةٌ مِنَ الْإِبِلِ مِنْهَا أَرْبَعُونَ فِي بُطُونِهَا أَوْلَادُهَا وَقَالَ مَرَّةً أَرْبَعُونَ مِنْ ثَنِيَّةٍ إِلَى بَازِلِ عَامِهَا كُلُّهُنَّ خَلِفَةٌ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ فَتْحِ مَكَّةَ وَهُوَ عَلَى دَرَجِ الْكَعْبَةِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي صَدَقَ وَعْدَهُ وَنَصَرَ عَبْدَهُ وَهَزَمَ الْأَحْزَابَ وَحْدَهُ أَلَا إِنَّ قَتِيلَ الْعَمْدِ الْخَطَإِ بِالسَّوْطِ أَوِ الْعَصَا فِيهِ مِائَةٌ مِنَ الْإِبِلِ وَقَالَ مَرَّةً الْمُغَلَّظَةُ فِيهَا أَرْبَعُونَ خَلِفَةً فِي بُطُونِهَا أَوْلَادُهَا أَلَا إِنَّ كُلَّ مَأْثُرَةٍ كَانَتْ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ وَدَمٍ وَدَعْوَى وَقَالَ مَرَّةً وَدَمٍ وَمَالٍ تَحْتَ قَدَمَيَّ هَاتَيْنِ إِلَّا مَا كَانَ مِنْ سِقَايَةِ الْحَاجِّ وَسِدَانَةِ الْبَيْتِ فَإِنِّي أُمْضِيهِمَا لِأَهْلِهِمَا عَلَى مَا كَانَتْ  

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say while standing on the steps of the Kaaba, "Praise be to Allah who fulfilled His promise, supported His servant, and defeated the confederates alone. Know that every custom of ignorance is beneath my feet today, except for the black stone and the Station of Ibrahim. Verily, the distance between the two pillars, where one kills with a whip and stone, is considered a hundred camels, forty of which are carrying their offspring."  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ وَهُوَ عَلَى دَرَجِ الْكَعْبَةِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَنْجَزَ وَعْدَهُ وَنَصَرَ عَبْدَهُ وَهَزَمَ الْأَحْزَابَ وَحْدَهُ أَلَا إِنَّ كُلَّ مَأْثُرَةٍ كَانَتْ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَإِنَّهَا تَحْتَ قَدَمَيَّ الْيَوْمَ إِلَّا مَا كَانَ مِنْ سِدَانَةِ الْبَيْتِ وَسِقَايَةِ الْحَاجِّ أَلَا وَإِنَّ مَا بَيْنَ الْعَمْدِ وَالْخَطَأِ الْقَتْلِ بِالسَّوْطِ وَالْحَجَرِ فِيهَا مِائَةُبَعِيرٍ مِنْهَا أَرْبَعُونَ فِي بُطُونِهَا أَوْلَادُهَا  

[Machine] Narrated by a man from the companions of the Prophet ﷺ that the Prophet ﷺ gave a sermon on the day of the conquest of Mecca, and he said, "There is no god but Allah alone, He fulfilled His promise, granted victory to His servant, and defeated the factions alone. Know that every custom of the pre-Islamic era is null and void, and every act of bloodshed or claim is under my feet, except for the protection of the Kaaba and providing water for the pilgrims. And verily, the killer in deliberate error with a whip, stick, or stone is liable to pay a severe blood money, a hundred camels, of which forty are in their offspring."  

عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ خَطَبَ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ فَقَالَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ صَدَقَ وَعْدَهُ وَنَصَرَ عَبْدَهُ وَهَزَمَ الْأَحْزَابَ وَحْدَهُ أَلَا إِنَّ كُلَّ مَأْثُرَةٍ كَانَتْ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ تُعَدُّ وَتُدْعَى وَكُلَّ دَمٍ أَوْ دَعْوَى فَهُوَ مَوْضُوعٌ تَحْتَ قَدَمِيَّ هَاتَيْنِ إِلَّا سِدَانَةَ الْبَيْتِ وَسِقَايَةَ الْحَاجِّ أَلَا وَإِنَّ قَتِيلَ الْخَطَأِ الْعَمْدِ بِالسَّوْطِ أَوِ الْعَصَا أَوِ الْحَجَرِ دِيَةٌ مُغَلَّظَةٌ مِائَةٌ مِنَ الْإِبِلِ مِنْهَا أَرْبَعُونَ فِي بُطُونِهَا أَوْلَادُهَا  

"الحمدُ لله الذي صدق وعدَه ونصرَ عبدَه وهزَم الأحزابَ وحْدَه، ألا أنّ قتِيلَ الخطأ قتيل السوْطِ والعصا فيه مائة من الإبل منها أَربعون خَلِيقَةً في بُطُونِها أولادُها، ألا إِنَّ كل مأثُورَة كانت في الجَاهلية ودَمٍ تَحْتَ قَدَمَى هَاتَينِ إِلا مَا كَانَ من سَدَانَة البيت وسقَايَةِ الحاج ألا إِنى قد أَمْضَيتُهَا لأهْلَهِمَا كما كَانَا".  

"عَنْ عُقْبَة بن أَوس السَّدُوسي، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ: لَمَّا قَدِمَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مَكَّة قَالَ: لَا إِلَه إِلا الله، وَحْدَهُ، صَدَقَ وَعْدَهُ، وَنَصَرَ عَبْدَهُ، وَهَزَمَ الأَحْزَابَ وَحْدَهُ، ألا إنَّ كُلَّ مَأثرةٍ تعد وتدعى ومال ودم تَحتَ قَدَميَّ هَاتَيْنِ إلَّا سدَانَةَ

الْبَيْتِ، وَسِقَايَةَ الحاج، أَلَا إنَّ قَتِيل الخطأ قتيل السَّوطِ والْعَصَا قال القاسم: مِنْها أَرْبَعُونَ فِي بُطُونِهَا أَوْلاَدُهَا".
