The Prophet ﷺ said: The Friday prayer in congregation is a necessary duty for every Muslim, with four exceptions; a slave, a woman, a boy, and a sick person. Abu Dawud said: Tariq b. Shihab had seen the Prophet ﷺ but not heard anything from him.

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ الْجُمُعَةُ حَقٌّ وَاجِبٌ عَلَى كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ فِي جَمَاعَةٍ إِلاَّ أَرْبَعَةً عَبْدٌ مَمْلُوكٌ أَوِ امْرَأَةٌ أَوْ صَبِيٌّ أَوْ مَرِيضٌ

عَنْ مَوْلًى لِآلِ الزُّبَيْرِ يَرْفَعُهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ الْجُمُعَةُ وَاجِبَةٌ عَلَى كُلِّ حَالِمٍ إِلَّا عَلَى أَرْبَعَةٍ عَلَى الصَّبِيِّ وَالْمَمْلُوكِ وَالْمَرْأَةِ وَالْمَرِيضِ

"الْجُمُعَةُ حَقٌّ واجبٌ عَلَى كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ فِي جَمَاعَةٍ إِلَّا أَرْبَعَةً: عبدٌ مملوك، أوْ امْرَأةٌ، أَوْ صَبِيٌّ، أَو مَريضٌ".

"الْجُمُعَةُ واجبةٌ إِلَّا عَلَى امْرَأةٍ أوْ صَبي (أوْ مَريض) أوْ عَبْد أَوْ مُسَافِر".

"الْجُمُعَةُ واجبةٌ عَلَى كُلِّ حَالِم إِلَّا عَلَى أرْبَعَة: الصَّبيِّ، والْمُمْلُوكِ، وَالْمَرأةِ، وَالمريضِ".
