'Who is this with you?' He said:' my son, I bear witness (that he is my son). He said: 'You cannot be affected by his sin or he by yours.

أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ مَعَ أَبِي فَقَالَ مَنْ هَذَا مَعَكَ قَالَ ابْنِي أَشْهَدُ بِهِ قَالَ أَمَا إِنَّكَ لاَ تَجْنِي عَلَيْهِ وَلاَ يَجْنِي عَلَيْكَ

[AI] "I came with my father to the Prophet ﷺ and he said, 'Is this your son?' I said, 'Yes.' He said, 'Do you love him?' I said, 'Yes.' He said, 'Know that he will not harm you, nor will you harm him.'"

جِئْتُ مَعَ أَبِي إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ ابْنُكَ هَذَا؟ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَالَ أَتُحِبُّهُ؟ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَالَ أَمَا إِنَّهُ لَا يَجْنِي عَلَيْكَ وَلَا تَجْنِي عَلَيْهِ

[AI] From Abu Rimthah Al-Taymi, I came to the Prophet ﷺ with my son. He asked, "Is this your son?" I replied, "I testify to him." He said, "He will neither benefit you nor harm you." He then said, "And I see the redness of old age."

عَنْ أَبِي رِمْثَةَ التَّيْمِيِّ أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَمَعِي ابْنٌ لِي فَقَالَ ابْنُكَ هَذَا؟ قُلْتُ أَشْهَدُ بِهِ قَالَ لَا يَجْنِي عَلَيْكَ وَلَا تَجْنِي عَلَيْهِ قَالَ وَرَأَيْتُ الشَّيْبَ أَحْمَرَ

[AI] I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and I had my son with me. He asked, "Is this your son?" So I said, "Yes, I bear witness with him." He said, "May he not bring you harm nor you bring harm to him." He said, "And I have seen the grey hair turn red."

أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَمَعِي ابْنٌ لِي فَقَالَ هَذَا ابْنُكَ؟ فَقُلْتُ نَعَمْ أَشْهَدُ بِهِ قَالَ لَا يَجْنِي عَلَيْكَ وَلَا تَجْنِي عَلَيْهِ قَالَ وَرَأَيْتُ الشَّيْبَ أَحْمَرَ

[AI] I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with my father, and he saw the condition on my back. So he said, "O Messenger of Allah, shall I treat it for you, for I am a doctor?" He ﷺ said, "You are a companion, and Allah is the Doctor." He said, "Who is this with you?" So he said, "This is my son who bears witness to it." He ﷺ said, "Indeed, it does not harm you nor does it harm him."

أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ مَعَ أَبِي فَرَأَى الَّتِي بِظَهْرِهِ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَلَا أُعَالِجُهَا لَكَ فَإِنِّي طَبِيبٌ؟ قَالَ أَنْتَ رَفِيقٌ وَاللهُ الطَّبِيبُ قَالَ مَنْ هَذَا مَعَكَ؟ فَقَالَ ابْنِي أشْهَدُ بِهِ قَالَ أَمَا إِنَّهُ لَا يَجْنِي عَلَيْكَ وَلَا تَجْنِي عَلَيْهِ

[AI] He entered upon the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , and with him was his son. He asked, "Is this your son?" He said, "Yes." He said, "Indeed, he does not bring you benefit, nor do you bring him benefit."

أَنَّهُ دَخَلَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَمَعَهُ ابْنٌ لَهُ فَقَالَ ابْنُكَ هَذَا؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ أَمَا إِنَّهُ لَا يَجْنِي عَلَيْكَ وَلَا تَجْنِي عَلَيْهِ

[AI] I came to the Prophet (saw) and I had my son with me. He asked, "Is he your son?" I said, "Yes." He said, "He shall not harm you, and you shall not harm him."

أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَمَعِي ابْنٌ لِي فَقَالَ ابْنُكَ؟ قَالَ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَالَ لَا يَجْنِي عَلَيْكَ وَلَا تَجْنِي عَلَيْهِ

[AI] I came with my father to the Prophet ﷺ , and he said, "Is this your son?" He replied, "Yes." The Prophet said, "Do you love him? Surely, he will not benefit you, nor will you benefit him."

جِئْتُ مَعَ أَبِي إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ ابْنُكَ هَذَا قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ أَتُحِبُّهُ أَمَا إِنَّهُ لَا يَجْنِي عَلَيْكَ وَلَا تَجْنِي عَلَيْهِ

[AI] He entered upon the Prophet ﷺ with his son and asked, "Is this your son?" The Prophet replied, "Yes." He further asked, "Does he bring you profit, or do you bring him profit?"

أَنَّهُ دَخَلَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَمَعَهُ ابْنٌ لَهُ فَقَالَ ابْنُكَ هَذَا قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ أَمَا إِنَّهُ لَا يَجْنِي عَلَيْكَ وَلَا تَجْنِي عَلَيْهِ

'Who is this with you?' He said:' my son, I bear witness (that he is my son). He said: 'You cannot be affected by his sin or he by yours. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4832)

أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ مَعَ أَبِي فَقَالَ «مَنْ هَذَا مَعَكَ؟» فَقَالَ ابْنِي أَشْهَدُ بِهِ قَالَ «أَمَا إِنَّهُ لَا يَجْنِي عَلَيْكَ وَلَا تَجْنِي عَلَيْهِ»

[AI] I entered with my father to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and my father saw someone on the back of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. So he said, "Let me treat the person on your back, for I am a physician." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Are you a companion of his?" He said, "My son testifies with him." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, he does not benefit you, and you do not benefit him."

دَخَلْتُ مَعَ أَبِي عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَرَأَى أَبِي الَّذِي بِظَهْرِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ دَعْنِي أُعَالِجُ الَّذِي بِظَهْرِكَ فَإِنِّي طَبِيبٌ فَقَالَ أَنْتَ رَفِيقٌ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ هَذَا مَعَكَ؟ قَالَ ابْنِي أَشْهَدُ بِهِ فَقَالَ أَمَا إِنَّهُ لَا يَجْنِي عَلَيْكَ وَلَا تَجْنِي عَلَيْهِ
