29. Chapter of Yā (Male)
[Machine] Abdullah ibn Dawud ibn Dilhath ibn Ismail ibn Abdullah ibn Musri ibn Yaser ibn Suwaid al-Juhani, the companion of the Prophet, narrated: my father Dawud told me, who heard from his father Dilhath, who heard from his father Ismail, who heard from his father Abdullah, who heard from his father Musri, who heard from his father Yaser ibn Suwaid, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was leading a cavalry or an expedition, and his wife was pregnant. Then she gave birth, and his mother carried the newborn to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, this newborn has been born while his father is in the cavalry. So name him." So the Prophet ﷺ took him, placed his hand on him, and said, "O Allah, increase their men and decrease their days, and do not make them dependent or leave their youth vulnerable." Then he named him Musri, for he was quick in accepting Islam.
[Machine] I came to the Prophet ﷺ and there were some people with him from Rabi'ah who were arguing about blood. He was saying, "The upper hand is better than the lower hand, including your mother, father, sister, and brother, then closest to you, then closest to you." Then he said, "Who is this with you, O Abu Rumbah?" So I said, "My son." He said, "Indeed, he does not bring goodness to you, nor do you bring goodness to him." So I looked and saw a scar on his shoulder like the size of a camel's hump or a pigeon's egg. So I said, "Shall I treat it for you with this (medicine)? I am from a household that provides treatment." He said, "Let the one who placed it on me treat it."
[Machine] I went with my father towards the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , and when I saw him, my father asked me, "Do you know who this is?" I said, "No." He said, "This is the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ ." I felt chills when he said this to me, and I used to believe that the Messenger of Allah was someone who did not resemble people. But there he was, a man with abundant hair, dyed with henna, wearing two green garments. My father greeted him, then they sat and spoke for an hour. Then the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said to my father, "Is this your son?" My father replied, "Yes, by the Lord of the Kaaba." The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , smiled at me, pleased with my resemblance to my father and my father's oath. Then he said, "Indeed, he does not harm you, nor do you harm him." Then the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , recited, "And no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another." My father saw something like a piece of merchandise between his shoulders and said, "I am like a-skilled physician, should I treat it?" The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, "Wait, the doctor who created it will treat it."
[Machine] I entered with my father to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and my father saw someone with a pain in his back, so he said, "Let me treat your back, for I am a physician." The Prophet ﷺ said, "You are my companion, and Allah is the best physician." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then asked my father, "Who is with you?" He replied, "My son testifies for you." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Indeed, you will not harm him nor will he harm you." And it is mentioned that my father saw the restraining power of the henna in the Messenger of Allah ﷺ .
[Machine] I came with my father to the Prophet ﷺ , and he said, "Is this your son?" He replied, "Yes." The Prophet said, "Do you love him? Surely, he will not benefit you, nor will you benefit him."
[Machine] "I went with my father to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and I saw on his shoulder a mark like an apple. My father said to him, 'I am a doctor. Should I lance it?' He replied, 'No, its Creator is its doctor.'"
[Machine] He entered upon the Prophet ﷺ with his son and asked, "Is this your son?" The Prophet replied, "Yes." He further asked, "Does he bring you profit, or do you bring him profit?"
[Machine] I went with my father towards the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When I saw him, my father said, "Do you know who this is?" I said, "No." He said, "This is the Messenger of Allah ﷺ." I was amazed when I saw him. I thought that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was not like other people, but he was a man with abundant hair, with a black waistcloth underneath a pair of green garments. My father greeted him, and they sat and spoke for a while. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to my father, "Is this your son?" He replied, "Yes, by the Lord of the Kaaba." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, he bears witness to that." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ smiled, amused by my resemblance to my father and by my father's oath about me. Then he said, "Indeed, he will not harm you, nor will you harm him." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited the verse "And no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another" (Quran 6:164). Then my father looked at a dappled spot on his shoulder and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have a skin ailment. Should I treat it?" He replied, "No, it is the Healer who created it."
[Machine] I entered the mosque with my father and saw the Prophet ﷺ sitting in the shade of the Kaaba. He said to me, "Do you see the man in the shade of the Kaaba? That is the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ." I was overcome with intense fear, and he was wearing two green garments or green burdans, with a reddish layer of henna. The Prophet ﷺ then said, "This is your son." My father replied, "Yes, by the Lord of the Kaaba." The Prophet ﷺ said, "He will not harm you, nor will you harm him."
[Machine] I went with my father to the Prophet ﷺ , and there he was, wearing a red garment with two green robes over it.
[Machine] I and my father met with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . While we were on the way, he encountered me and my father asked me, "Do you know who this is?" I replied, "No." He said, "This is the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and I thought that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ does not resemble people." He said, "And when a man with luxuriant hair passes, adorned with two green garments, it is as if I am looking at the brilliance of his calves." He asked my father, "Who is this that is with you?" My father said, "My son, I swear by Allah, it is the truth." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ laughed at my father's oath and then said, "You have spoken the truth. Indeed, he will not harm you, nor will you harm him." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited this verse, "And no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another."
I went to the Prophet peace be upon him, and with me was my son. I said to my son, when I saw him, "This is the Prophet of Allah." Then he (my son) had a seizure. So I said to the Prophet ﷺ, "O Prophet of Allah, I am a physician and my father was a physician from a family of physicians. Show me your back, if there is a lump on it, I will treat it, and if it is something else, I will inform you. For there is no one more knowledgeable than me regarding injuries and wounds." He said, "There is no physician except Allah, and upon him are two green bandages, and he has hair that has turned gray, and his beard is red." Then he said, "Is this your son?" I said, "Yes, I swear by the Lord of the Kāba." He said, "Is it from yourself?" I said, "I testify to it." He said, "Indeed, it does not harm you nor does it harm him."
[Machine] I approached the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was delivering a sermon saying, "The hand of the giver is superior. Your mother and father, then your sister and brother, then your close relatives, and then your close relatives." Then, some people from the Banu Yarbua came and said, "O Messenger of Allah, the people of Banu Yarbua have killed so-and-so." He said, "One life should not be avenged by another."
[Machine] I went to the Prophet ﷺ , and he had hair that reached his shoulders, dyed with henna and katam.
[Machine] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ perform the prayer, and then he greeted to his right side and to his left side until we saw the whiteness of his cheeks.
