ذِكْرُ الْعِلَّةِ الَّتِي مِنْ أَجْلِهَا أَمَرَ بِهَذَا الْأَمْرِ

[Machine] He asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , "O Messenger of Allah, a funeral procession of a disbeliever passes by, should we stand up for it?" He said, "Yes, stand up for it, for you are not standing for him, but for the one who holds the souls (i.e., Allah)."

أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ تَمُرُّ بِنَا جَنَازَةُ الْكَافِرِ أَفَنَقُومُ لَهَا؟ فَقَالَ نَعَمْ قُومُوا لَهَا فَإِنَّكُمْ لَسْتُمْ تَقُومُونَ لَهَا إِنَّمَا تَقُومُونَ إِعْظَامًا لِلَّذِي يَقْبِضُ النُّفُوسَ

[Machine] He said: A man asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, "O Messenger of Allah, a funeral procession of disbelievers passes by us, should we stand up for it?" He ﷺ said, "Yes, stand up for it, for you are not standing up for them, rather you are standing up in reverence for the One who holds the souls."

أَنَّهُ قَالَ سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ تَمُرُّ بِنَا جِنَازَةُ الْكُفَّارِ فَنَقُومُ لَهَا؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ قُومُوا لَهَا فَإِنَّكُمْ لَسْتُمْ تَقُومُونَ لَهَا إِنَّمَا تَقُومُونَ إِعْظَامًا لِلَّذِي يَقْبِضُ النُّفُوسَ»

[Machine] A man said, "O Messenger of Allah, should we stand up for the funeral of a non-believer?" He replied, "Yes, stand up for it, for you are not standing up for the deceased, but rather for the angels who are with them."

رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ تَمُرُّ بِنَا جَنَازَةُ الْكَافِرِ فَتَقُومُ لَهَا؟ فَقَالَ «نَعَمْ قُومُوا لَهَا فَإِنَّكُمْ لَسْتُمْ تَقُومُونَ لَهَا إِنَّمَا تَقُومُونَ لِمَنْ مَعَهَا مِنَ الْمَلَائِكَةِ»
