46. Book of Tribulations and Great Wars (7/8)
[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Indeed, Allah sends, at the beginning of every century, someone who renews the religion for it.' So rejoice, O Judge, for Allah has sent 'Umar ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz at the beginning of the century, and He has sent Muhammad ibn Idris al-Shafi'i at the beginning of the two hundred, and you are at the beginning of the three hundred. Al-Qadi says: 'Two have already passed, and blessings upon 'Umar the caliph, and blessings upon al-Shafi'i, the upright and determined, Muhammad, the inheritor of prophethood, and the cousin of Muhammad, rejoice, O Abu al-'Abbas, for you are the third after them, a drink for the soil of Ahmad.' The Qadi then shouted, Abu al-'Abbas, may Allah, the Most High, have mercy upon him, cried, and said: 'I consider myself to be the person mentioned in the story.' A group of my companions informed me that they were present in a gathering of the Imam, Abu al-Tayyib Sahl ibn Muhammad ibn Sulaiman, and this story was mentioned, and they related it to him in my presence. In the gathering was Abu 'Amr al-Bistami, the jurist, the Arja'i, and he began at that time, and the fourth renowned person, Sahl Muhammad, became an imam for every monotheist, where the Muslims sought refuge in him with their lives in knowledge. If they went out, he was indeed a great supporter. Between us, the sheikh of al-War, the renewer of the chosen school, remained the most praiseworthy. So, I asked the jurist, Abu 'Amr, in my gathering, and he recited it to me."

[Machine] Abu Al-Muwajjah narrated that Abdan narrated that Abdullah narrated that Sufyan narrated from Jami' ibn Abi Rashid from Abu Ya'la Munthir Al-Thawri from Al-Hasan ibn Muhammad ibn Ali from Ma'laat (a woman) who was a companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ who said: The Prophet ﷺ entered upon Aisha or one of the wives of the Prophet ﷺ while I was present, and he said, "When evil becomes prevalent and they do not prevent it, Allah will afflict them with His punishment." A man said, "O Prophet of Allah, even if there are righteous people among them?" He said, "Yes, they will be afflicted with what afflicts them, then they will turn to the forgiveness and mercy of Allah, or to the mercy and forgiveness of Allah." Al-Dhahabi refrained from summarizing it.

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to become flushed, his cheeks would redden, his anger would intensify, and his voice would become elevated when he mentioned the Hour, as if he were warning of an approaching army saying, "Morning may befall you, evening may befall you."
[Machine] Abu Darda, how do you see people? I said, "Well, their call is one, their leader is one, their enemies are in exile, and their gifts and sustenance are guarded." He said, "So what would happen if their hearts become filled with hatred, their tongues curse each other, their animosity becomes apparent, their relationships become corrupted, and some of them start striking the necks of others?"
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "My community will not be tempted until they have differences, deviances, and confrontations among them." I asked, "O Messenger of Allah, what is 'differences'?" He said, "'Differences' refers to the hostility and conflicts that people will create after my time in Islam." I asked, "Then what is 'deviances'?" He replied, "'Deviances' refers to one tribe favoring another, allowing what is prohibited for them." I asked, "And what are 'confrontations'?" He said, "'Confrontations' refer to the battles that will take place between different regions, where their necks will be at odds with each other."
[Machine] "I entered the mosque with Abdullah and found the people in a state of bowing. Abdullah also performed the bow, and as a man passed by, Abdullah greeted him. Then he said, 'May Allah and His Messenger be true.' He then joined the prayer row. After he finished, I asked him about his statement, 'May Allah and His Messenger be true.' He replied, 'Indeed, it means that the Day of Judgment will not come until the mosques become thoroughfares, until a man greets another man with recognition, until women and their husbands engage in trade, until horses and women become prevalent, and until there is an abundance of slander until the Day of Judgment.'"
[Machine] "I will fight alongside them until I remember a conversation I heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that it had reached him that a certain king or some foreign kings had passed away, and they appointed a woman as their leader. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'A nation that is ruled by a woman will not be successful.'"
When we were around the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he mentioned the period of commotion (fitnah) saying: When you see the people that their covenants have been impaired, (the fulfilling of) the guarantees becomes rare, and they become thus (interwining his fingers). I then got up and said: What should I do at that time, may Allah make me ransom for you? He replied: Keep to your house, control your tongue, accept what you approve, abandon what you disapprove, attend to your own affairs, and leave alone the affairs of the generality. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4343)
[Machine] "His teachers heard him from behind and they spoke with words, so he turned to them and said, 'No one follows any books that I have followed. I have read books and heard narrations, and I found everything to be false except what is in the Book of Allah the Almighty.' He then went out and performed the tawaf (circumambulation) of the Kaaba and entered upon his mother Asmaa, who kissed him and kissed the area between his hat and his forehead. She asked him, 'What have you heard from them?' It was said to her, 'The people of Sham (Syria)'. She said, 'Are all of them Muslims?' It was said to her, 'Yes, that's what they claim.' She said, 'I have seen Islam even if they all gathered to eat a sheep, they wouldn't eat it.' Then she said, 'O my son, die noble and do not surrender.' Abdullah said, 'Where are the people of Egypt?' They said to him, 'At the gate of Banu Jumah.' It was the most crowded gate. He carried his sword and attacked them until they reached the market. He said, 'And surely Khubayb used to strike them with his sword from behind, saying, 'Carry on, no one should enter upon him.' Then he would carry on and they would be exposed.' He said, 'When they saw that, they went inside Aswad. And when they saw him, they turned around to attack him.' He entered upon Aswad until he was between the curtains of the Kaaba. When he came to him, Ibn Al-Zubayr struck him and pierced his two legs. He said, 'Then he woke up and started blaming himself.' He said, 'Then he left and did not turn to him until a stone came to him and struck him near the ear. So he fell and they killed him.'"

[Machine] "How can you ask for forgiveness from me when you have killed my son?" She said, "Your son was a blasphemer in the sanctuary of Allah, so I killed him as an atheist and a sinner, in order to make him taste a painful punishment from Allah. And Allah did the same to him." She replied, "You have lied, O enemy of Allah and enemy of the Muslims! By Allah, you have indeed killed him while he was fasting, obedient, righteous, and dutiful to his parents, guarding this religion. And if you have ruined his worldly life, then surely you have ruined your hereafter. And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ informed us that there will come out two liars from Thaqeef (a tribe), and the latter of the two is worse than the former, and he is you, O Hajjaj."

[Machine] About Husayn, he mentioned the hadith in its original form and added to it, then Al-Hajjaj said, "The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, spoke the truth, and I, Al-Mubir, am betraying the hypocrites."
[Machine] I used to be the most respected person in the city, and I would meet people from the companions of the Messenger of Allah. The one I loved to meet the most was Ubay ibn Ka'b. One day, I arrived in Medina during the time of Fajr prayer. 'Umar went out along with some men, and there was a man from the tribe watching the faces of the people. He recognized them and denied recognizing me, so he pushed me away and took my place. I performed my prayer, but I could not concentrate. After he finished his prayer, he said, "O my son, may Allah not harm you! I did not do what I did out of ignorance. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to us, 'Be in the row that follows me.' When I saw the people's faces, I recognized them except for you." Then he sat down, and I saw that no one turned their heads towards anything except for him. It was Ubay ibn Ka'b, and what he said was, "The people of the written contract have perished, by the Lord of the Ka'bah, the people of the written contract have perished." By Allah, I wasn't worried for them, but I was worried for those who destroyed them from among the Muslims.

[Machine] From the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "The destruction of my nation will be at the hands of men from Quraysh."
[Machine] I heard Abu al-Qasim ﷺ say, "Verily, the corruption of my nation is caused by foolish leaders from the Quraysh." So I heard Abu Abdullah Muhammad ibn Ya'qub say, "I heard al-Husayn ibn Muhammad al-Qabbani say, "I heard Amr ibn Ali say, "The authentic (hadith) is from Malik ibn Dhalim." Authentic.
[Machine] "Ya'jooj and Ma'jooj are a span and two spans and three, and they are from the offspring of Adam." Al-Dhahabi remained silent about it in his summary.
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ʿThe Dajjal will emerge from a land in the east called Khurasan and he will be followed by peoples whose faces are like hammered shields.ʿ (Using translation from Aḥmad 12)
[Machine] Regarding the Prophet ﷺ, he said, "The Antichrist will emerge from here or here or from here, but rather he will emerge from here," meaning the east.
[Machine] Hisham, indeed these (people) pass (or surpass) (in virtue) to a man whom we used to see the Messenger of Allah ﷺ more often than him and I (also) memorize it. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "There is no trial greater in the sight of Allah, from the time of Adam's creation until the Day of Judgment, than the trial of the Dajjal."
[Machine] "I was in Al-Hatim with Hudhayfah when he mentioned a hadith and then said, 'The knots of Islam will be undone one by one, and there will be misled leaders. After that, the deceivers, the three Dajjals, will emerge.' I said, 'O Abu Abdullah, have you heard this from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ?' He said, 'Yes, I have heard it.'"
[Machine] "The Dajjal has emerged and the people of Kufa are supporting him. He said, 'Sit down,' so I sat down. Then someone shouted, 'This is a lie, it is fabricated.' He replied, 'But the Dajjal will not appear among your people in your time as the children will throw stones at him. However, the Dajjal will emerge in a time of hatred, lightness in faith, and enmity among people. He will block any water source and the land will fold up for him like the fold of a lamb's skin. Then, he will proceed to Medina, where he will overpower those outside the city and prevent others from entering. Finally, he will approach Jerusalem and besiege a group of Muslims. They will ask those who are with him, 'What are you waiting for? Fight him until you meet Allah or until victory is granted to you.' So, they will decide to fight him the next morning and wake up with Jesus, son of Mary, among them. Jesus will kill the Dajjal and defeat his followers. Even the trees and rocks will say, 'O believer, there is a Jew hiding behind me; kill him.' The Dajjal will have three distinctive signs: he will be blind in one eye, your Lord is not blind, and he will have the word 'disbeliever' written between his eyes which every believing literate and illiterate person can read. No one will be able to subdue him except for a donkey. He is filthy and anyone who follows him is filthy as well. Then Abu Sarīhah said, 'I fear for myself and for you all, even if he is not the Dajjal.' We asked, 'What is he, Abu Sarīhah?' He replied, 'He is a trial that will be as dark as a pitch black night.' We asked, 'Who will be the worst affected by this trial?' He replied, 'Every smooth-tongued speaker and every rider.' We asked, 'Who will be the best in this trial?' He replied, 'Every rich person who conceals it.' I said, 'I am neither rich nor a concealer.' He said, 'Then be like the son of al-Lubun; neither saddle him nor milk him.'"

[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "The Dajjal will emerge with lightness in religion and an absence of knowledge. He will have forty days, the length of which the first day will be like a year, the second day like a month, and the third day like a week, and the rest of his days will be like your days. He will have a donkey on which he will travel, with the span between its ears being forty cubits. He will come to the people and say, 'I am your Lord,' while indeed your Lord is not one-eyed." It is written between his eyes the letters K, F, and R, which every believer will be able to read, whether they are literate or illiterate. He will pass through every water source and well except for Madinah and Makkah, which Allah has made forbidden for him. The angels will guard their gates.

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ mentioned the Dajjal and said: "If he appears while I am among you, then I will be the one who will refute him. But if he appears and I am not among you, then every person must refute him on his own, and Allah is my successor over every Muslim. Indeed, his one eye is covered like a blind man's eye, resembling the eye of Abd al-Uzza bin Qatan al-Khazai. Indeed, between his two eyes, "disbeliever" is written, and every Muslim can read it. So whoever among you meets him, let him recite the Opening Chapter of the Cave and he will come out between Sham and Iraq, causing destruction to the right and to the left. O servants of Allah, be firm" He said this three times. They asked, "O Messenger of Allah, how long will he stay on earth?" He said, "Forty days, one day like a year, one day like a month, one day like a week, and the rest of his days like your days." They said, "O Messenger of Allah, how should we perform prayers on that day? Should we calculate [its timing] as one day or take an approximation?" He said, "You should calculate [its timing]."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, "Whoever of you hears about the coming of the Dajjal (the Antichrist), let him stay away from him, for surely a man will come to him and think that he is a believer, while he continues to follow him due to what he sees of doubts."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever hears about the Dajjal (the Antichrist), should keep away from him. And if someone says it three times, the person will come to him and follow him, thinking that he is truthful in what he has been sent with, from the signs (of the Dajjal)."
[Machine] "Do not be intimidated by them, for they will return. So We revealed (to Ali) and when it was morning, one who looked like me (Ali) went out, and when he went out, I reminded him (the people) of that incident. Ali said, 'Do not be scared by their presence, for their command is insignificant.' Ali said, 'Do not initiate the fight with them until they initiate it with you.' They sat on their knees and we prepared for battle, and we used our shields as protection. They approached us and handed us spears, and then they attacked us with arrows. Then they got closer and they picked up swords to attack us until they wanted to attack us with their swords. Then, a man from the Banu Abdi Qays tribe named Sa'sa'a bin Sohan called out three times and they asked him what he wanted. He said, 'I remind you to have God in your hearts and to fight on the land that will bear disrespect against its people. I remind you to leave behind the religion, as it will leave you behind like an arrow from a bow.' When we saw that they had placed their swords on us, Ali said, 'Get up, with the blessing of Allah the Almighty.' It was not even midday when we were scattered everywhere and we escaped, and whoever ran, ran. Ali thanked Allah and said, 'My friend (the Prophet) informed me that the leader of the enemy was a man whose hands were marked with hair, like the tail of a lizard. Go and find him.' So we looked for him and we could not find him. Then, an man from the people of Kufa came and said, 'Here he is.' Ali said, 'Allah is the Greatest, by Allah, no one will inform you about his father's lineage being the King.' People started saying, 'This is a King.' Ali said, 'Whose son is he?' They said, 'We do not know.' Then, a man from the people of Kufa came and said, 'I know this man. I was offering cattle as a dowry for a certain man from Banu Fulan, a sheikh from Banu Fulan, and I put easy-to-wear ornaments on them. When I turned my back, the cow ran away, and he called me and said, 'Oh boy, look, the cow has run away.' So I said, 'I see an image of a sunset or a sheep.' He got closer to us, and Ali said, 'Who is that man?' The people said, 'This is the one.' Ali said, 'I swear by Allah, this man has come to you from Yamama to worship Allah in the mosque of Kufa. He worshipped Allah there and called the people until they gathered around him.' Ali said, 'My friend (the Prophet) informed me that these are three brothers from the Jinn. This is the eldest, the second has a large following, and the third one is weak.' Muslim narrated this hadith in Sahih al-Masnad in an abbreviated manner, and it is an authentic hadith."

[Machine] We were with Hudhayfah in this mosque, and he said, "Will the tribulations reach you? It will begin with commotion, then turmoil, then darkness. Among you is no man who sees what you see, but has not witnessed the tribulations of the Messiah and will never see them." He said, "Among us is an Arab from Rabiah, there is no one among us who is alive except him. He said, 'Glory be to Allah! O companions of Muhammad, how about the Messiah when he was described to us as having a broad forehead, protruding eyebrows, a gap between his shoulders, and I have not seen Hudhayfah leaving any of these characteristics unmentioned.' I asked him, 'By Allah, do you know what you said?' He replied, 'I said, 'Among you is no man who sees what you see, but has not witnessed the tribulations of the Dajjal and will never see them.'" He said, "Then I saw Hudhayfah discussing a matter and touching his face. I said, 'Is it because he memorized the Hadith on his face?' He said, 'Yes.' Then he said a weak statement, 'Did you see yesterday's rain? It was a general tribulation that affected the people.' He said, 'Among us is an Arab from Rabiah, there is no one among us who is alive except him.' He said, 'Glory be to Allah! O companions of Muhammad, where are those who talk about our seed and search our homes?' He said, 'They are the corrupt ones.' He repeated this twice and said, 'I went out on the day of Al-Jaradah and I knew that nothing was shed in it except the son of Al-Hisramah, and I prohibited it only for the son of Al-Hisramah."' He said, 'Among us is an Arab from Rabiah, there is no one among us who is alive except him.' He said, 'Glory be to Allah! O companions of Muhammad, the son of Al-Hisramah different from the people.' He said, 'When the hour comes, it will be for the Leader and the speaker. As for the son of Al-Hisramah, he is an eloquent man.'"

[Machine] From the hadith of Amr al-Hadrami, from the people of Homs, from Abu Umamah al-Bahili, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ delivered a sermon to us one day, and the majority of his sermon was about mentioning the Dajjal. He informed us about him in detail until he finished his sermon. Then, on that day, he said: "Indeed, Allah the Exalted has not sent a prophet except that he warned his nation about the Dajjal. And I am the last of the prophets, and you are the last of the nations. Surely, he is among you, there is no doubt. If he appears while I am among you, then I am the guardian of every Muslim. And if he appears among you after me, then every individual is the guardian of themselves. And Allah is my Khalifah (Caliph) over every Muslim. He will emerge from the land situated between Iraq and Sham (Greater Syria), and will roam through the east and west. O servants of Allah, be steadfast. He will start by claiming to be a prophet, even though there is no prophet after me. Then, he will claim to be your Lord, even though you have not seen your Lord until you die. And it is written between his eyes that he is a disbeliever, and every believer will be able to read it. So, whoever among you meets him should recite the opening verses of Surat Al-Kahf (Chapter of the Cave) against him. He will have control over one soul from the descendants of Adam, and he will kill it and then bring it back to life. And he will not have control over another soul besides that. He will bring with him Paradise and Hell as part of his fitnah (trial), but his Paradise will be Hell, and his Hell will be Paradise. So, whoever is afflicted with his Hellfire, let him close his eyes and seek refuge with Allah, for it will become cool and peaceful for him, just as fire was cool and peaceful for Ibrahim (Abraham), peace be upon him. And whoever meets him while believing in him and affirming his truthfulness, then let him seek rain from him. For Allah will cause the sky to rain upon them from their own day, and the Earth will bring forth for them from its own day, and their livestock will return to them fully satisfied from their own day. It will be their greatest and fattest day. But whoever meets him while disbelieving in him and rejecting him, then let him seek dryness from him. For he will not have a single drop of rain to give, and he will curse them, so that they will not have a rider or a passenger, and his days will be forty days. One of his days will be like a year, one day will be like a month, one day will be like a week, and the rest of his days will be like ordinary days." Then he (the Prophet, ﷺ) said, "A man will be at the door of Al-Madinah, and he will reach the other end of the city before evening comes." They asked, "How should we pray, O Messenger of Allah, in those short days?" He said, "Estimate the time (according to the length of the day) and then pray as you would in the longer days."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Before the Hour comes, a black cloud will rise over you from the west, like a shield. It will continue to rise in the sky until it fills the sky. Then, a caller will call out, 'O people, have you heard?' Some will say, 'Yes,' while others will doubt. Then, a second call will be made, saying, 'O people, have you heard?' And the people will say, 'Yes.' Then, the caller will say, 'The command of Allah has come, so do not rush.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'By the One in Whose hand is my soul, indeed two men will spread out a garment, but they will never fold it or trade it. And indeed, a man will pass by his water trough, but he will never drink from it. And indeed, a man will milk his camel, but he will never drink from it. And the people will be busy doing their own work.'"

Then a young man from the Ansar came and greeted the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, and sat down. He said, "O Messenger of Allah, which of the believers is the best?" He said, "The one with the best character." He said, "Which of the believers is the most intelligent?" He said, "Those who remember death the most and are best prepared for it. They are the most intelligent." Then the young man remained silent.

[Machine] The translation of the given text into English is as follows:
The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said about him, then the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) stood up and praised Allah for what He deserves. Then he said, "As for what follows, you have exaggerated in the matter of this man, and indeed he is a liar, one of thirty liars who will appear before the Dajjal. And there is no city that will not be filled with the fear of the Messiah on that day, except for Medina, for on every spot of its outskirts, there will be two angels who will dispel the fear of the Messiah from it." Muslim has narrated through Talhah bin Abdullah bin Awf, and Ma'mar and Shuayb bin Abi Hamza have also narrated this chain of narration from Az-Zuhri. Talhah bin Abdullah did not hear it from Abu Bakrah; rather, he heard it from 'Iyad bin Musafi' who heard it from Abu Bakrah. This is how Yunus bin Yazid and 'Uqail bin Khalid have narrated it from Az-Zuhri. Talhah did not hear this from Abu Bakrah.

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Allah, bless the people of Al-Madinah in their measures and weights, and bless them in their city. O Allah, indeed Ibrahim was Your servant, Your friend, and I am Your servant and Your messenger. Ibrahim asked You for blessings for Makkah, and I ask You for blessings for Al-Madinah, similar to what Ibrahim asked for Makkah and the same along with it. Verily, Al-Madinah is fortified by angels at every entrance, and there are two angels guarding it. Plague and falsehood do not enter it. Whoever intends evil for its people, Allah will melt him away like salt is dissolved in water."

[Machine] "On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ , he mentioned the Antichrist (Dajjal) and described him with details that I do not remember. They asked, 'O Messenger of Allah, will our hearts be as firm on that day as they are today?' He said, 'Or even better.'"

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There was no prophet after Noah except that he warned his people about the Dajjal (the Antichrist), and indeed I am warning you about him." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then described him to us saying, "You will either meet him or some of those who saw me will meet him and hear from me." We asked, "O Messenger of Allah, will our hearts be the same as they are today on that day?" He said, "Or better." Al-Dhahabi remained silent about this in his summary.

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ addressed the people and said, "The Day of Deliverance, what is the Day of Deliverance?" He repeated this three times until someone asked, "O Messenger of Allah, what is the Day of Deliverance?" He replied, "The false messiah (Dajjal) will come, and he will ascend a hill and look towards the city and say to his companions, 'Do you not see this white palace? This is the mosque of Ahmad.' Then he will come to the city and find an angel guarding every entrance. He will strike a part of the city's wall, and the city will tremble three times. There will not remain a hypocrite, male or female, nor a sinner, male or female, except that they will come out to him. Thus, the city will be purified, and that is the Day of Deliverance."

What is this hadith that you narrate that the Last Hour would come at such and such time? Thereupon he said: Hallowed be Allah, there is no god but Allah (or the words to the same effect). I have decided that I would not narrate anything to anyone now. I had only said that you would see after some time an important event that the (sacred) House (Ka'ba) would be burnt and it would happen and definitely happen. He then reported that Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The Dajjal would appear in my Ummah and he would stay (in the world) for forty - I cannot say whether he meant forty days, forty months or forty years. And Allah would then send Jesus son of Mary who would resemble 'Urwa b Mas'ud. He (Jesus Christ) would chase him and kill him. Then people would live for seven years that there would be no rancour between two persons. Then Allah would send cold wind from the side of Syria that none would survive upon the earth having a speck of good in him or faith in him but he would die, so much so that even if some amongst you were to enter the innermost part of the mountain, this wind would reach that place also and that would cause his death. I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: Only the wicked people would survive and they would be as careless as birds with the characteristics of beasts. They would never appreciate the good nor condemn evil. Then Satan would come to them in human form and would say: Don't you respond? And they would say: What do you order us? And he would command them to worship the idols but, in spite of this, they would have abundance of sustenance and lead comfortable lives. Then the trumpet would be blown and no one would hear that but he would bend his neck to one side and raise it from the other side and the first one to hear that trumpet would be the person who would be busy in setting right the tank meant for providing water to the camels. He would swoon and the other people would also swoon, then Allah would send or He would cause to send rain which would be like dew and there would grow out of it the bodies of the people. Then the second trumpet would be blown and they would stand up and begin to look (around). Then it would be said: O people, go to your Lord, and make them stand there. And they would be questioned. Then it would be said: Bring out a group (out of them) for the Hell-Fire. And then it would be asked: How much? It would be said: Nine hundred and ninty-nine out of one thousand for the Hell-Fire and that would be the day which would make the children old because of its terror and that would be the day about which it has been said: "On the day when the shank would be uncovered" (lxviii. 42). “Islam will wear out as embroidery on a garment wears out, until no one will know what fasting, prayer, (pilgrimage) rites and charity are. The Book of Allah will be taken away at night, and not one Verse of it will be left on earth. And there will be some people left, old men and old women, who will say: “We saw our fathers saying these words: ‘La ilaha illallah’ so we say them too.” Silah said to him: “What good will (saying): La ilaha illallah do them, when they do not know what fasting, prayer, (pilgrimage) rites and charity are?” Hudhaifah turned away from his. He repeated his question three times, and Hudhaifah turned away from him each time. Then he turned to him on the third time and said: “O Silah! It will save them from Hell,” three times. "On the night on which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was taken on the Night Journey (Isra'), he met Ibrahim, Musa and 'Eisa, and they discussed the Hour. They started with Ibrahim, and asked him about it, but he did not have any knowledge of it. Then they asked Musa, and he did not have any knowledge of it. Then they asked 'Eisa bin Maryam, and he said: 'I have been assigned to some tasks before it happens.' As for as when it will take place, no one knows that except Allah. Then he mentioned Dajjal and said: 'I will descend and kill him, then the people will return to their own lands and will be confronted with Gog and Magog people, who will: "swoop down from every mound."[21:96] They will not pass by any water but they will drink it, (and they will not pass) by anything but they will spoil it. They (the people) will beseech Allah, and I will pray to Allah to kill them. The earth will be filled with their stench and (the people) will beseech Allah and I will pray to Allah, then the sky will send down rain that will carry them and throw them in the sea. Then the mountains will turn to dust and the earth will be stretched out like a hide. I have been promised that when that happens, the Hour will come upon the people, like a pregnant woman whose family does not know when she will suddenly give birth.'" (One of the narrators) 'Awwam said: "Confirmation of that is found in the Book of Allah, where Allah says: "Until, when Gog and Magog people are let loose (from their barrier), and they swoop down from every mound (21:96)."
