كَانَ الرِّجَالُ وَالنِّسَاءُ يَتَوَضَّئُونَ فِي زَمَانِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ جَمِيعًا

abudawud:79 – [Chain 1] Musaddad > Ḥammād > Ayyūb > Nāfiʿ [Chain 2] ʿAbdullāh b. Maslamah > Mālik > Nāfiʿ > Ibn ʿUmar

The males and females during the time of the Apostle of Allaah ( sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam ) used to perform the ablution from one vessel together. The wordings "from one vessel" occur in the version of Musaddad.

أبو داود:٧٩ – حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ

كَانَ الرِّجَالُ وَالنِّسَاءُ يَتَوَضَّئُونَ فِي زَمَانِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ مِنَ الإِنَاءِ الْوَاحِدِ جَمِيعًا

malik:2-14 – Mālik > Nāfiʿ

Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi that Abdullah ibn Umar used to say that men and their wives used to do wudu together in the time of the Messenger of Allah.

مالك:٢-١٤ – وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ

أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ كَانَ يَقُولُ إِنْ كَانَ الرِّجَالُ وَالنِّسَاءُ فِي زَمَانِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ لَيَتَوَضَّئُونَ جَمِيعًا

nasai-kubra:72 – Hārūn b. ʿAbdullāh > Maʿn > Mālik > Nāfiʿ > Ibn ʿUmar
