I saw the Prophet ﷺ raise his hands when he uttered the takbir (Allah is most great), when he bowed and when he raised his head after bowing until he brought them to the lobes of his ears.

رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ إِذَا كَبَّرَ وَإِذَا رَكَعَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ حَتَّى يَبْلُغَ بِهِمَا فُرُوعَ أُذُنَيْهِ

"I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, when he started to pray, raise his hands, and when he bowed, and when he raised his head from bowing, until they were parallel with the top of his ears."

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ حِينَ دَخَلَ فِي الصَّلاَةِ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ وَحِينَ رَكَعَ وَحِينَ رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ حَتَّى حَاذَتَا فُرُوعَ أُذُنَيْهِ

"I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ raise his hands until they reached the highest part of his ears, when he said the takbir, when he bowed and when he raised his head from bowing."

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ إِذَا كَبَّرَ وَإِذَا رَكَعَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ حَتَّى بَلَغَتَا فُرُوعَ أُذُنَيْهِ

His father said: "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when he started to pray, raise his hands until they were parallel to his shoulders, (and he did that) when he bowed and when he raised his head from bowing."

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا افْتَتَحَ الصَّلاَةَ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ حَتَّى يُحَاذِيَ مَنْكِبَيْهِ وَإِذَا رَكَعَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ

He saw the Prophet ﷺ raise his hands when he bowed, and when he raised his head from bowing, until they were in level with the highest part of his ears.

أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ إِذَا رَكَعَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ حَتَّى يُحَاذِيَ بِهِمَا فُرُوعَ أُذُنَيْهِ

"When the Prophet ﷺ raised his head from bowing, he said: 'Allahumma Rabbana wa lakal-hamd (O Allah, our Lord and to You be the praise).'"

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّنَا وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ

He saw the Prophet ﷺ raise his hands when praying, when he bowed, when he raised his head from bowing, when he prostrated and when he raised his head from prostrating, until they were in level with the top part of his ears.

أَنَّهُ رَأَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ فِي صَلاَتِهِ وَإِذَا رَكَعَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ وَإِذَا سَجَدَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ السُّجُودِ حَتَّى يُحَاذِيَ بِهِمَا فُرُوعَ أُذُنَيْهِ

“I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ raising his hands until they were parallel to his shoulders when he started the prayer, and when he bowed in Ruku’, and when he raised his head from Ruku’, but he did not raise them between the two prostrations.”

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا افْتَتَحَ الصَّلاَةَ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ حَتَّى يُحَاذِيَ بِهِمَا مَنْكِبَيْهِ وَإِذَا رَكَعَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ وَلاَ يَرْفَعُ بَيْنَ السَّجْدَتَيْنِ

“When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ raised his head from Ruku’, he said: ‘Sami’ Allahu liman hamidah, Allahumma, Rabbana lakal-hamd, mil’ as-samawati wa mil’ al- ard wa mil’ ma shi’ta min shay’in ba’d (Allah hears those who praise Him. O Allah! O our Lord, to You is the praise as much as fills the heavens, as much as fills the earth and as much as You will after that).’”

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ قَالَ سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّنَا لَكَ الْحَمْدُ مِلْءَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَمِلْءَ الأَرْضِ وَمِلْءَ مَا شِئْتَ مِنْ شَىْءٍ بَعْدُ

[AI] Certainly, the Prophet ﷺ used to "when he performed the takbeer, he would raise his hands until they were level with his ears, and when he intended to bow, and when he raised his head from bowing."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ «إِذَا كَبَّرَ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ حَتَّى يُحَاذِيَ أُذُنَيْهِ وَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَرْكَعَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ»

“When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ raised his head from Ruku’, he said: ‘Sami’ Allahu liman hamidah, Allahumma, Rabbana lakal-hamd, mil’ as-samawati wa mil’ al- ard wa mil’ ma shi’ta min shay’in ba’d (Allah hears those who praise Him. أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ قَالَ اللهُمَّ رَبَّنَا لَكَ الْحَمْدُ مِلْءَ السَّمَاءِ وَمِلْءَ الْأَرْضِ وَمِلْءَ مَا شِئْتَ مِنْ شَيْءٍ بَعْدُ

[AI] "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ raising his hands when he entered the prayer, when he bowed, and when he raised his head from the bowing position, but he did not do that during prostration."

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ إِذَا دَخَلَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ وَإِذَا رَكَعَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ وَلَا يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ فِي السُّجُودِ

[AI] He heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say when he raised his head from the bowing position, "Our Lord, to You is the praise."

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ حِينَ رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ قَالَ رَبَّنَا وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ

"When the Prophet ﷺ raised his head from bowing, he said: 'Allahumma Rabbana wa lakal-hamd (O Allah, our Lord and to You be the praise).'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1060)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ لَمَّا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ قَالَ اللهُمَّ رَبَّنَا وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ

He saw the Prophet ﷺ raise his hands when he bowed, and when he raised his head from bowing, until they were in level with the highest part of his ears. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1056)

أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَرْكَعَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ السُّجُودِ حَتَّى يُحَاذِيَ بِهِمَا فُرُوعَ أُذُنَيْهِ

It was narrated that Malik bin Huwairith said that when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said Allahu Akbar, he would raise his hands until they were close to his ears; when he bowed in Ruku’ he did likewise, and when he raised his head from Ruku’ he did likewise. (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 859)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا كَبَّرَ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ حَتَّى يَجْعَلَهُمَا قَرِيبًا مِنْ أُذُنَيْهِ وَإِذَا رَكَعَ صَنَعَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَوَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ فَعَلَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ

"I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, when he started to pray, raise his hands, and when he bowed, and when he raised his head from bowing, until they were parallel with the top of his ears." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 881)

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا دَخَلَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ وَإِذَا رَكَعَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ حَتَّى حَاذَتَا فُرُوعَ أُذُنَيْهِ

[AI] "The Prophet ﷺ used to raise his hands when he started the prayer until his hands were level with his ears, and when he bowed, and when he raised his head from the bowing position."

«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا كَبَّرَ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ إِذَا دَخَلَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ حَتَّى يُحَاذِيَ بِهِمَا أُذُنَيْهِ وَإِذَا رَكَعَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ»

“When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ raised his head from Ruku’, he said: ‘Sami’ Allahu liman hamidah, Allahumma, Rabbana lakal-hamd, mil’ as-samawati wa mil’ al- ard wa mil’ ma shi’ta min shay’in ba’d (Allah hears those who praise Him. أَنَّ النَّبِيّ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا قَالَ سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ قَالَ ربنا لك الحمد ثُمَّ قال الله أكبر حين يخر ساجدا

[AI] When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would raise his head from bowing, he would say, "O Allah, our Lord, to You is all praise, filling the heavens, filling the earth, and filling whatever You will after."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ قَالَ «اللهُمَّ رَبَّنَا لَكَ الْحَمْدُ مِلْءَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمِلْءَ الْأَرْضِ وَمِلْءَ مَا شِئْتَ مِنْ شَيْءٍ بَعْدُ»

[AI] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ , he would say, "O Allah, our Lord, praise is due to You, filling the heavens, filling the earth, and filling whatever else You will."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ كَانَ إِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ قَالَ «اللهُمَّ رَبَّنَا لَكَ الْحَمْدُ مِلْءَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمِلْءَ الْأَرْضِ وَمِلْءَ مَا شِئْتَ مِنْ شَيْءٍ بَعْدُ»

[AI] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ raising his hands when he said the takbeer until they reached his ears, and when he bowed, and when he raised his head from the bowing position.

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ «إِذَا افْتَتَحَ الصَّلَاةَ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ حَتَّى يُحَاذِي مَنْكِبَيْهِ وَإِذَا رَكَعَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ used to raise his hands when he would say the takbir until they were level with the lobes of his ears, and he would do the same when he would bow and when he would raise his head from the bowing position.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا كَبَّرَ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ حَتَّى يُحَاذِيَ بِهِمَا فُرُوعَ أُذُنَيْهِ وَإِذَا رَكَعَ كَذَلِكَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ كَذَلِكَ

[AI] When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say, "Samii'a-Allahu liman hamidah" (Allah hears whoever praises Him), he would say, "Allahumma Rabbana lakal-hamd" (O Allah, our Lord, to You be all praise). And when he would bow, he would say "Allahu Akbar" (Allah is the greatest), and when he raised his head from bowing, he would say "Allahu Akbar", and when he stood up from the two prostrations, he would say "Allahu Akbar" (Allah is the greatest).

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا قَالَ سَمِعَ اللهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ قَالَ اللهُمَّ رَبَّنَا لَكَ الْحَمْدُ وَكَانَ إِذَا رَكَعَ يُكَبِّرُ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ يُكَبِّرُ وَإِذَا قَامَ مِنَ السَّجْدَتَيْنِ قَالَ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ

[AI] I prayed with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the month of Ramadan, and when he lifted his head from bowing, he said, "Allah has heard the one who praised Him. O our Lord, to You belongs all the praise."

صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ فَلَمَّا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ قَالَ سَمِعَ اللهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ اللهُمَّ رَبَّنَا وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ

"أَنَّ النَّبِىَّ ﷺ كَانَ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ إِذَا افْتَتَحَ، وَإذَا رَكَعَ، وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأسَهُ، وَلاَ يُجَاوِزُ بِهِمَا أُذُنَيْهِ".

"سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ حِينَ رَفَعَ رَأسَهُ مِنَ الرَّكعَةِ قَالَ: رَبَّنَا وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ".

"رَأَيْتُ النَّبِىَّ ﷺ رَفَعَ يَدَيْه إِذَا رَكَعَ، وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأسَهُ مِنَ الركُوعِ حَتَّى يُحَاذِى بِهِمَا فُرُوعَ أُذُنَيْهِ".

"إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ لَمَّا رَفَعَ رَأسَهُ مِنَ الرَّكْعَةِ قَالَ: اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّنَا وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ".
