He who offered prayer over the dead, but did not follow the bier, for him is the reward of one qirat, and he who followed it, for him is the reward of two qirats. It was asked what the qirats were. He said: The smaller amongst the two is equivalent to Uhud.

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ وَلَمْ يَتْبَعْهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ فَإِنْ تَبِعَهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ قِيلَ وَمَا الْقِيرَاطَانِ قَالَ أَصْغَرُهُمَا مِثْلُ أُحُدٍ

He who offers prayer for the dead, for him is (the reward of) one qirat; and he who follows the bier till it is placed in the grave, for him (is the reward of) two qirats. I (Abu Hazim, one of the narrators) said: Abu Huraira, what is a qirat? He said: It is like the hill of Uhud.

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ وَمَنِ اتَّبَعَهَا حَتَّى تُوضَعَ فِي الْقَبْرِ فَقِيرَاطَانِ قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ وَمَا الْقِيرَاطُ قَالَ مِثْلُ أُحُدٍ

If anyone attends the funeral and prays over (the dead), he will get the reward of one qirat, and if anyone attends the funeral until the completion (of the burial), he will get the reward of two qirats, the smaller of them being equivalent of Uhud, or one of them being equivalent to Uhud.

مَنْ تَبِعَ جَنَازَةً فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ وَمَنْ تَبِعَهَا حَتَّى يُفْرَغَ مِنْهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ أَصْغَرُهُمَا مِثْلُ أُحُدٍ أَوْ أَحَدُهُمَا مِثْلُ أُحُدٍ

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever follows a Janazah until it is finished, he will have two Qirats, and whoever goes back before it is finished, he will have one Qirat."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ تَبِعَ جَنَازَةً حَتَّى يُفْرَغَ مِنْهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ فَإِنْ رَجَعَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُفْرَغَ مِنْهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever offers the funeral prayer will have one Qirat and whoever stays until )the body) is placed in the Lahd will have two Qirats, and the two Qirats are like two great mountains."'

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ وَمَنِ انْتَظَرَهَا حَتَّى تُوضَعَ فِي اللَّحْدِ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ وَالْقِيرَاطَانِ مِثْلُ الْجَبَلَيْنِ الْعَظِيمَيْنِ

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever attends a funeral until the prayer is offered will have one Qirat and whoever attends until (the body) is buried will have two Qirats."' It was said: "What are the two Qirats, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "Like two great mountains."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ شَهِدَ جَنَازَةً حَتَّى يُصَلَّى عَلَيْهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ وَمَنْ شَهِدَ حَتَّى تُدْفَنَ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ قِيلَ وَمَا الْقِيرَاطَانِ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ مِثْلُ الْجَبَلَيْنِ الْعَظِيمَيْنِ

“Whoever offers the funeral prayer will have one Qirat and whoever awaits until (the burial) is finished will have two Qirat.” They said: ‘What are these two Qirat?’ He said: ‘Like two mountains.’”

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جِنَازَةٍ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ وَمَنِ انْتَظَرَ حَتَّى يُفْرَغَ مِنْهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ قَالُوا وَمَا الْقِيرَاطَانِ قَالَ مِثْلُ الْجَبَلَيْنِ

“Whoever offers the funeral prayer will have one Qirat and whoever attends the burial will have two Qirat.” The Prophet ﷺ was asked about the Qirat and he said: “(It is) like Uhud.”

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جِنَازَةٍ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ وَمَنْ شَهِدَ دَفْنَهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ قَالَ فَسُئِلَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْقِيرَاطِ؟ فَقَالَ مِثْلُ أُحُدٍ

“Whoever offers the funeral prayer will have one Qirat and whoever awaits until (the burial) is finished will have two Qirat.” They said: ‘What are these two Qirat?’ He said: ‘Like two mountains.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1539)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ وَمَنِ انْتَظَرَ حَتَّى يُفْرَغَ مِنْهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ قَالُوا وَمَا الْقِيرَاطَانِ؟ قَالَ مِثْلُ الْجَبَلَيْنِ الْعَظِيمَيْنِ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ وَمَنِ انْتَظَرَهَا حَتَّى تُوضَعَ فِي اللَّحْدِ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ وَالْقِيرَاطَانِ مِثْلُ الْجَبَلَيْنِ الْعَظِيمَيْنِ

[AI] I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "Whoever follows a funeral procession and prays upon it, or he said, 'Whoever prays upon it after its burial while doubting, he will have one Qirat. But if he witnesses its burial, he will have two Qirats. The Qirat is like the size of the Mount Uhud."

سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ تَبِعَ جَنَازَةً فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهَا أَوْ قَالَ مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَيْهَا شُعْبَةُ شَكَّ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ فَإِنْ شَهِدَ دَفْنَهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ الْقِيرَاطُ مِثْلُ أُحُدٍ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever offers funeral prayer for a deceased person will receive one qirat, and whoever follows the funeral procession until it is buried will receive two qirats, one of which is equivalent to the size of Mount Uhud or smaller."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جِنَازَةٍ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ وَمَنْ تَبِعَهَا حَتَّى يُقْضَى دَفْنُهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ أَحَدُهُمَا أَوْ أَصْغَرُهُمَا مِثْلُ أُحُدٍ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever follows a funeral procession and prays for the deceased, he will have one qirat and whoever waits until the burial is complete, he will have two qirats." They asked, "O Messenger of Allah, what are the qirats?" He said, "One of them is equivalent to the size of Mount Uhud."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ تَبِعَ جِنَازَةً وَصَلَّى عَلَيْهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ وَمَنْ انْتَظَرَ حَتَّى يَقْضِيَ قَضَاءَهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَمَا الْقِيرَاطَانِ؟ قَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا مِثْلُ أُحُدٍ

[AI] On the authority of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he said, "Whoever attends a funeral procession and walks with it from the family until the prayer is performed upon it, he will receive one qirat (reward). And whoever waits until it is buried or until it is completed, he will receive two qirat, comparable to the size of Uhud."

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ جَاءَ إِلَى جَنَازَةٍ فَمَشَى مَعَهَا مِنْ أَهْلِهَا حَتَّى يُصَلَّى عَلَيْهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ وَمَنْ انْتَظَرَ حَتَّى تُدْفَنَ أَوْ يُفْرَغَ مِنْهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ مِثْلُ أُحُدٍ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever attends a funeral and follows it until the prayer is offered for the deceased, will receive one Qirat (a reward unit). And whoever goes along with it (the funeral procession) until it is buried, will receive two Qirats, the reward of each being like the size of the Uhud mountain."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ جَاءَ جِنَازَةً فِي أَهْلِهَا فَتَبِعَهَا حَتَّى يُصَلِّيَ عَلَيْهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ وَمَنْ مَضَى مَعَهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ مِثْلُ أُحُدٍ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever follows a funeral procession until the prayer is performed upon it, will receive one Qirat, and whoever waits until the deceased is buried, will receive two Qirats."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ تَبِعَ جِنَازَةً حَتَّى يُصَلِّيَ عَلَيْهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ وَمَنْ انْتَظَرَهَا حَتَّى يُفْرَغَ مِنْهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ

[AI] "The Prophet of Allah ﷺ said: Whoever offers prayers upon a funeral, they will receive one Qirat. And if they wait until it is buried, they will receive two Qirats."

أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ فَإِنْ انْتَظَرَ حَتَّى يُفْرَغَ مِنْهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ

[AI] Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ: "Whoever follows a funeral procession until the funeral prayer is offered and the burial is done, will receive two Qirats (of reward). And whoever follows it until the burial is done will receive one Qirat. And by the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, it is heavier in his scale than Mount Uhud."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ تَبِعَ جَنَازَةً حَتَّى يُصَلَّى عَلَيْهَا وَيُفْرَغَ مِنْهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ وَمَنْ تَبِعَهَا حَتَّى يُصَلَّى عَلَيْهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ لَهُوَ أَثْقَلُ فِي مِيزَانِهِ مِنْ أُحُدٍ

[AI] "The Prophet of Allah ﷺ said, 'Whoever follows a funeral procession will receive one Qirat, and whoever witnesses its burial will receive two Qirats.' It was asked, 'What are the Qirats?' He said, 'The smaller one is similar to the size of a 'Uhud mountain.'"

أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ تَبِعَ جَنَازَةً فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ وَمَنْ شَهِدَ دَفْنَهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ قِيلَ وَمَا الْقِيرَاطَانِ؟ قَالَ أَصْغَرُهُمَا مِثْلُ أُحُدٍ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever follows a funeral and performs the funeral prayer for it, he will have a qirat, and if he witnesses its burial, he will have two qirats." They asked, "And what are the qirats?" He said, "The smaller one is equivalent to the size of the mountain of Uhud."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ تَبِعَ جِنَازَةً فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ فَإِنْ شَهِدَ دَفْنَهَا كَانَ لَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ قَالُوا وَمَاالْقِيرَاطَانِ؟ قَالَ أَصْغَرُهُمَا مِثْلُ أُحُدٍ

“Whoever offers the funeral prayer will have one Qirat and whoever attends the burial will have two Qirat.” The Prophet ﷺ was asked about the Qirat and he said: “(It is) like Uhud.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1540)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ وَمَنْ شَهِدَ دَفْنَهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَمَا الْقِيرَاطَانِ؟ قَالَ أَصْغَرُهُمَا مِثْلُ أُحُدٍ

قَالَ مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جِنَازَةٍ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ وَمَنِ انْتَظَرَهَا حَتَّى يَقْضِيَ قَضَاءَهَا أَوْ تُدْفَنَ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لَا نَعْلَمُهُ يُرْوَى عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ إِلَّا مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ

أَن النَّبِيّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ وَمَنْ انْتَظَرَهَا حَتَّى تُدْفَنَ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ رَوَاهُ الأَعْمَشُ عَن أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَن ابْنِ عُمَر وَرَوَاهُ سَالِمٌ الْبَرَّادُ عَن ابْنِ عمر

أَنَّ النَّبِيّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ صَلَّى على جنازة فله قيراط وانتظرها حَتَّى تُدْفَنَ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ

عَن النَّبِيّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ فله قيراط وَمَنْ انتظرها حتى يفرغ من دفنها فله قيراطان قالوا وما هما؟ قال القيراطان مثل الجبلين العظيمين وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لا نَعْلَمُ رَوَاهُ عَن الزُّهْرِيّ عَن سَعِيد عَن أبي هُرَيرة إلاَّ مَعْمَر وقد خولف مَعْمَر في إسناده

عَن النَّبِيّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ فله قيراط أَحسَبُهُ قال وَمَنِ انْتَظَرَهَا حَتَّى تُدْفَنَ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ

عَن النَّبِيّ ﷺ؛ أَنَّه قَالَ مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ وَمَنْ اتبعها حتى يقضى قضاؤها فله قيراطان

قَالَ قَالَ رَسُول اللهِ ﷺ من أتى جنازة في أهلها فصلى عليها كان له قيراط وَمَنْ اتبعها حتى يقضى قضاؤها فله قيراطان

أَنَّ النَّبِيّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جِنَازَةٍ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ وَمَنِ انْتَظَرَهَا حَتَّى تُدْفَنَ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لم يروه عَنْ سُمَيّ إلاَّ ابن عُيَينة

قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جِنَازَةٍ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ وَمَنِ انْتَظَرَهَا حَتَّى تُدْفَنَ فله قيراطان وَهَذَا الحديثُ لاَ نَعْلَمُ رَوَاهُ عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ؓ إلا عمار بن مُحَمَّد

قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جِنَازَةٍ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ وَمَنِ انْتَظَرَهَا حَتَّى تُدْفَنَ أو يقضي قضاؤها فله قيراطان

عَنِ النَّبِي ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ صلى على جنازة فله قيراط ومن انتظر حتى تدفن فله قيراطان فأنكر ذلك ابن عمر فأرسلوا إلى عائشة ؓ فسألوها فقالت صدق تعني أبا هريرة زياد بن مخزوم

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever offers the funeral prayer will have one Qirat and whoever stays until )the body) is placed in the Lahd will have two Qirats, and the two Qirats are like two great mountains."' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1994)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جِنَازَةٍ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ وَمَنِ انْتَظَرَهَا حَتَّى تُوضَعَ فِي اللَّحْدِ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ وَالْقِيرَاطَانِ مِثْلُ الْجَبَلَيْنِ الْعَظِيمَيْنِ»

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever attends a funeral until the prayer is offered will have one Qirat and whoever attends until (the body) is buried will have two Qirats."' قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ شَهِدَ الْجِنَازَةَ حَتَّى يُصَلَّى عَلَيْهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ وَمَنْ شَهِدَ حَتَّى تُدْفَنَ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ» قِيلَ وَمَا الْقِيرَاطَانِ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ «مِثْلُ الْجَبَلَيْنِ الْعَظِيمَيْنِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever prays upon a funeral (prayer), he will have one carat, and whoever waits until the burial is completed, he will have two carats." They said: "So what are the two carats?" He said: "They are like the two great mountains."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جِنَازَةٍ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ وَمَنِ انْتَظَرَ حَتَّى يَفْرُغَ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ قَالُوا وَمَا الْقِيرَاطَانِ؟ قَالَ مِثْلُ الْجَبَلَيْنِ الْعَظِيمَيْنِ

"مَنْ تَبِع جِنَازَةً حَتَّى يُصَلَّى عَلَيهَا وَيُفْرَغَ مِنْهَا، فَلَهُ قِيراطَان، وَمَنْ تَبِعَها حَتَّى يُصَلَّى عَلَيهَا فَلَهُ قِيراطٌ، وَالَّذِى نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ لَهُوَ أَثْقَلُ في مِيزَانِهِ مِنْ أُحُدٍ".

"مَنْ تَبعَ جِنَازَةً حَتَّى يُصَلَّى عَلَيهَا ثُمَّ يَرجِعَ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ، وَمَنْ صَلَّى عَلَيها ثُمَّ مَشَى مَعَهَا حتى يَدْفِنَهَا فَلَهُ قِيراطَان، القيراطُ مِثلُ أُحُدٍ".

"مَنْ تَبِعَ جِنَازَةً حَتَّى يُفْرَغَ مِنها فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ، فَإِنْ رَجَعَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُفْرَغَ مِنْهَا فَلَه قِيرَاطٌ".

"مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جِنَازَة وَلَمْ يَتْبَعْهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ، فَإِنْ تَبِعَهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ. قِيلَ: وَمَا الْقِيرَاطَانِ؟ قَال: أَصْغَرُهُمَا مثْلُ أُحُدٍ".

"مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جنَازَة فَلَهُ قيرَاطٌ وَمَنِ انْتَظَرَهَا حَتَّى تُوضَعَ في اللَّحْدِ، فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ، وَالْقِيرَاطَانِ مِثْلُ الْجَبَلَينَ الْعَظِيمَينَ".

"مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جِنَازَةٍ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ، فَإِنِ انْتَظَرَ حَتَّى يفرغَ مِنْهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ".
