He who offered prayer over the dead, but did not follow the bier, for him is the reward of one qirat, and he who followed it, for him is the reward of two qirats. It was asked what the qirats were. He said: The smaller amongst the two is equivalent to Uhud.

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ وَلَمْ يَتْبَعْهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ فَإِنْ تَبِعَهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ قِيلَ وَمَا الْقِيرَاطَانِ قَالَ أَصْغَرُهُمَا مِثْلُ أُحُدٍ

He who offers prayer for the dead, for him is (the reward of) one qirat; and he who follows the bier till it is placed in the grave, for him (is the reward of) two qirats. I (Abu Hazim, one of the narrators) said: Abu Huraira, what is a qirat? He said: It is like the hill of Uhud.

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ وَمَنِ اتَّبَعَهَا حَتَّى تُوضَعَ فِي الْقَبْرِ فَقِيرَاطَانِ قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ وَمَا الْقِيرَاطُ قَالَ مِثْلُ أُحُدٍ

He who offered prayer for the dead, for him is the reward of one qirat, and he who attended its burial, he would have two qirats as his reward. And qirat is equivalent to Uhud.

عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ فَإِنْ شَهِدَ دَفْنَهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ الْقِيرَاطُ مِثْلُ أُحُدٍ

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever offers the funeral prayer will have one Qirat and whoever stays until )the body) is placed in the Lahd will have two Qirats, and the two Qirats are like two great mountains."'

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ وَمَنِ انْتَظَرَهَا حَتَّى تُوضَعَ فِي اللَّحْدِ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ وَالْقِيرَاطَانِ مِثْلُ الْجَبَلَيْنِ الْعَظِيمَيْنِ

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever attends a funeral until the prayer is offered will have one Qirat and whoever attends until (the body) is buried will have two Qirats."' It was said: "What are the two Qirats, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "Like two great mountains."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ شَهِدَ جَنَازَةً حَتَّى يُصَلَّى عَلَيْهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ وَمَنْ شَهِدَ حَتَّى تُدْفَنَ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ قِيلَ وَمَا الْقِيرَاطَانِ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ مِثْلُ الْجَبَلَيْنِ الْعَظِيمَيْنِ

“Whoever offers the funeral prayer will have one Qirat and whoever attends the burial will have two Qirat.” The Prophet ﷺ was asked about the Qirat and he said: “(It is) like Uhud.”

[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ, he said, "Whoever prays upon a deceased person will receive a Qirat, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked, 'What is a Qirat?' He replied, 'It is equivalent to the size of Uhud.'"

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ فَسُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَا الْقِيرَاطُ؟ قَالَ مِثْلُ أُحُدٍ

[Machine] On the authority of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he said, "Whoever attends a funeral procession and walks with it from the family until the prayer is performed upon it, he will receive one qirat (reward). And whoever waits until it is buried or until it is completed, he will receive two qirat, comparable to the size of Uhud."

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ جَاءَ إِلَى جَنَازَةٍ فَمَشَى مَعَهَا مِنْ أَهْلِهَا حَتَّى يُصَلَّى عَلَيْهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ وَمَنْ انْتَظَرَ حَتَّى تُدْفَنَ أَوْ يُفْرَغَ مِنْهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ مِثْلُ أُحُدٍ

“Whoever offers the funeral prayer will have one Qirat and whoever awaits until (the burial) is finished will have two Qirat.” They said: ‘What are these two Qirat?’ He said: ‘Like two mountains.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1539)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ وَمَنِ انْتَظَرَ حَتَّى يُفْرَغَ مِنْهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ قَالُوا وَمَا الْقِيرَاطَانِ؟ قَالَ مِثْلُ الْجَبَلَيْنِ الْعَظِيمَيْنِ

If anyone attends the funeral and prays over (the dead), he will get the reward of one qirat, and if anyone attends the funeral until the completion (of the burial), he will get the reward of two qirats, the smaller of them being equivalent of Uhud, or one of them being equivalent to Uhud. "The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever offers the funeral prayer will have one Qirat and whoever stays until )the body) is placed in the Lahd will have two Qirats, and the two Qirats are like two great mountains."' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1994)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ وَمَنِ انْتَظَرَهَا حَتَّى تُوضَعَ فِي اللَّحْدِ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ وَالْقِيرَاطَانِ مِثْلُ الْجَبَلَيْنِ الْعَظِيمَيْنِ

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever attends a funeral until the prayer is offered will have one Qirat and whoever attends until (the body) is buried will have two Qirats."' قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ شَهِدَ الْجِنَازَةَ حَتَّى يُصَلَّى عَلَيْهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ وَمَنْ شَهِدَهَا حَتَّى تُدْفَنَ وَقَالَ عَتَّابٌ حَتَّى تُفْرَغَ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ قِيلَ وَمَا الْقِيرَاطَانِ يَا رَسُولَاللهِ؟ قَالَ مِثْلُ الْجَبَلَيْنِ الْعَظِيمَيْنِ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever follows a funeral procession and prays for the deceased, he will have one qirat and whoever waits until the burial is complete, he will have two qirats." They asked, "O Messenger of Allah, what are the qirats?" He said, "One of them is equivalent to the size of Mount Uhud."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ تَبِعَ جِنَازَةً وَصَلَّى عَلَيْهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ وَمَنْ انْتَظَرَ حَتَّى يَقْضِيَ قَضَاءَهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَمَا الْقِيرَاطَانِ؟ قَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا مِثْلُ أُحُدٍ

He who attends the funeral till the prayer is offered for (the dead), for him is the reward of one qirat, and he who attends (and stays) till he is buried, for him is the reward of two qirats. It was said: What are the qirats? He said: They are equivalent to two huge mountains. Two other narrators added: Ibn 'Umar used to pray and then depart (without waiting for the burial of the dead). When the tradition of Abu Huraira reached him, he said:" We have lost many qirats." (Using translation from Muslim 945a)

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ شَهِدَ الْجَنَازَةَ حَتَّى يُصَلَّى عَلَيْهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ وَمَنْ شَهِدَهَا حَتَّى تُدْفَنَ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ» قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَمَا الْقِيرَاطَانِ؟ قَالَ «مِثْلُ جَبَلَيْنِ عَظِيمَيْنِ»

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ شَهِدَ الْجِنَازَةَ حَتَّى يُصَلَّى عَلَيْهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ وَمَنْ شَهِدَ حَتَّى تُدْفَنَ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ» قِيلَ وَمَا الْقِيرَاطَانِ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ «مِثْلُ الْجَبَلَيْنِ الْعَظِيمَيْنِ»

"مَن شَهدَ الْجنَازَةَ حَتَّى يُصَلَّى عَلَيهَا فَلَهُ قيرَاطٌ، وَمَنْ شَهِدَهَا حَتَّى تُدْفَنَ كَانَ لَهُ قِيرَاطَان، قِيلَ: وَما القِيراطَان؟ قَال: مِثْلُ الْجَبَلَينِ الْعَظِيمَينِ".

"مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جِنَازَةٍ فَانْصَرفَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَفْرغُ مِنْهَا، كَانَ لَهُ قيرَاطٌ، فَإِن انْتَظَرَ حَتَّى يَفْرغُ مِنْهَا، كان لَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ، وَالْقِيرَاطُ مِثْلُ أُحُد في مِيزَانِهِ [يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ] (*) ".

"مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جنَازَة فَلَهُ قيرَاطٌ وَمَنِ انْتَظَرَهَا حَتَّى تُوضَعَ في اللَّحْدِ، فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ، وَالْقِيرَاطَانِ مِثْلُ الْجَبَلَينَ الْعَظِيمَينَ".

"مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جِنَازَةٍ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ، فَإِنِ انْتَظَرَ حَتَّى يفرغَ مِنْهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ".

"مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جِنَازَةٍ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ فَإِنْ شَهدَ دَفْنَهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ. الْقِيرَاطُ مِثْلُ أُحُدٍ".
