“Whoever offers the funeral prayer will have one Qirat and whoever attends the burial will have two Qirat.” The Prophet ﷺ was asked about the Qirat and he said: “(It is) like Uhud.”

It was said: What are the qirats? He said: They are equivalent to two huge mountains. Two other narrators added: Ibn 'Umar used to pray and then depart (without waiting for the burial of the dead). When the tradition of Abu Huraira reached him, he said:" We have lost many qirats." (Using translation from Muslim 945a)

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ شَهِدَ الْجَنَازَةَ حَتَّى يُصَلَّى عَلَيْهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ وَمَنْ شَهِدَهَا حَتَّى تُدْفَنَ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ» قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَمَا الْقِيرَاطَانِ؟ قَالَ «مِثْلُ جَبَلَيْنِ عَظِيمَيْنِ»

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever attends a funeral until the prayer is offered will have one Qirat and whoever attends until (the body) is buried will have two Qirats."' It was said: "What are the two Qirats, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "Like two great mountains." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1995)
