Messenger of Allah ﷺ once delayed the ʿIsha' prayer and that was during the days when Islam still had not spread. The Prophet ﷺ did not come out till ʿUmar informed him that the women and children had slept. Then he came out and said to the people of the mosque: "None amongst the dwellers of the earth has been waiting for it (ʿIsha prayer) except you."

أَعْتَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لَيْلَةً بِالْعِشَاءِ وَذَلِكَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَفْشُوَ الإِسْلاَمُ فَلَمْ يَخْرُجْ حَتَّى قَالَ عُمَرُ نَامَ النِّسَاءُ وَالصِّبْيَانُ فَخَرَجَ فَقَالَ لأَهْلِ الْمَسْجِدِ مَا يَنْتَظِرُهَا أَحَدٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الأَرْضِ غَيْرُكُمْ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ delayed 'Isha' until 'Umar called him and said: 'The women and children have gone to sleep.' Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out and said: 'There is no one who is offering this prayer but you.' And at that time no one used to pray except the people of Al-Madinah."

أَعْتَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِالْعِشَاءِ حَتَّى نَادَاهُ عُمَرُ ؓ نَامَ النِّسَاءُ وَالصِّبْيَانُ فَخَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ أَحَدٌ يُصَلِّي هَذِهِ الصَّلاَةَ غَيْرُكُمْ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَحَدٌ يُصَلِّي غَيْرَ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ delayed 'Isha' until 'Umar called him and said: 'The women and children have gone to sleep.' أَعْتَمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِالْعِشَاءِ حَتَّى نَادَاهُ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ قَدْ نَامَ النِّسَاءُ وَالصِّبْيَانُ فَخَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ أَحَدٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْأَرْضِ يُصَلِّي هَذِهِ الصَّلَاةَ غَيْرَكُمْ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ أَحَدٌ يُصَلِّي يَوْمَئِذٍ غَيْرَ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed alone until Umar called out to him. Umar said, "The prayer has been called, as even women and children have fallen asleep." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then went out and said, "No one from the people of religions (other than Islam) is waiting for it except for you (referring to Umar and a few others)."

أَعْتَمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ حَتَّى نَادَاهُ عُمَرُ فَقَالَ الصَّلَاةَ نَامَ النِّسَاءُ وَالصِّبْيَانُ قَالَتْ فَخَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ مَا يَنْتَظِرُهَا أَحَدٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْأَدْيَانِ غَيْرُكُمْ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ delayed 'Isha' until 'Umar called him and said: 'The women and children have gone to sleep.' [Machine] The Prophet ﷺ performed the night prayer, and Umar called out to him and said, "The women and children have fallen asleep." So he went out to them and said, "No one on the face of the earth besides you is awaiting this prayer." And at that time, the prayer was only being performed in Madinah. But Abdullah ibn Abdullah objected to him.

أَعْتَمَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ فَنَادَاهُ عُمَرُ فَقَالَ نَامَ النِّسَاءُ وَالصِّبْيَانُ فَخَرَجَ إِلَيْهِمْ فَقَالَ «مَا يَنْتَظِرُ هَذِهِ الصَّلَاةَ أَحَدٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْأَرْضِ غَيْرُكُمْ» وَلَمْ تَكُنْ تُصَلَّى يَوْمَئِذٍ إِلَّا بِالْمَدِينَةِ خَالَفَهُ عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ delayed 'Isha' until 'Umar called him and said: 'The women and children have gone to sleep.' Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out and said: 'There is no one who is offering this prayer but you.' And at that time no one used to pray except the people of Al-Madinah." "أعْتَمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِالْعِشَاءِ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ، فَنَادَاهُ عُمَرُ فَقَالَ: نَامَ النِّسَاءُ وَالصِّبْيَانُ فَخَرجَ إِلَيْهِمْ فَقَالَ: مَا يَنْتَظِرُ هَذِهِ الصَّلاَةَ أَحَدٌ غَيْرُكُمْ مِنْ أَهْلِ الأَرْضِ قَالَ الزُّهْرِىُّ: وَلَمْ يَكُنْ يُصَلِّى يَوْمَئذٍ إِلاَّ مَنْ بِالْمَدِينَةِ".
