[Machine] Aisha, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ , informed him that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had observed the night prayer (Tahajjud) on a certain night, which people commonly referred to as "Salat Al-Atamah". Aisha said that the Prophet ﷺ did not leave until Umar said, "The prayer has been established and the women and children have fallen asleep." Then, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out and said to the people in the mosque, "No one on earth is waiting for this prayer except you." This occurred before Islam spread among the people.  

أحمد:٢٦٣٣٧ – حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَخِي ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عَمِّهِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عُرْوَةُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ

أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَخْبَرَتْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَعْتَمَ لَيْلَةً مِنَ اللَّيَالِي بِصَلَاةِ الْعِشَاءِ وَهِيَ الَّتِي يَقُولُ النَّاسُ لَهَا صَلَاةُ الْعَتَمَةِ قَالَتْ فَلَمْ يَخْرُجْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ حَتَّى قَالَ عُمَرُ الصَّلَاةَ قَدْ نَامَ النِّسَاءُ وَالصِّبْيَانُ فَخَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ لِأَهْلِ الْمَسْجِدِ حِينَ خَرَجَ عَلَيْهِمْ مَا يَنْتَظِرُهَا أَحَدٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْأَرْضِ غَيْرَكُمْ وَذَلِكَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَفْشُوَ الْإِسْلَامُ فِي النَّاسِ

Messenger of Allah ﷺ once delayed the ʿIsha' prayer and that was during the days when Islam still had not spread. The Prophet ﷺ did not come out till ʿUmar informed him that the women and children had slept. Then he came out and said to the people of the mosque: "None amongst the dwellers of the earth has been waiting for it (ʿIsha prayer) except you."  

البخاري:٥٦٦ – حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ أَخْبَرَتْهُ قَالَتْ

أَعْتَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لَيْلَةً بِالْعِشَاءِ وَذَلِكَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَفْشُوَ الإِسْلاَمُ فَلَمْ يَخْرُجْ حَتَّى قَالَ عُمَرُ نَامَ النِّسَاءُ وَالصِّبْيَانُ فَخَرَجَ فَقَالَ لأَهْلِ الْمَسْجِدِ مَا يَنْتَظِرُهَا أَحَدٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الأَرْضِ غَيْرُكُمْ  

muslim:638a – ʿAmr b. Sawwād al-ʿĀmirī And Ḥarmalah b. Yaḥyá > Ibn Wahb > Yūnus > Ibn Shihāb > ʿUrwah b. al-Zubayr

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ deferred one night the 'Isya' prayer. And this is called 'Atama. And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not come out till Umar b. Khattab told (him) that the women and children had gone to sleep. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out towards them and said to the people of the mosque: None except you from the people of the earth waits for it (for the night prayer at this late hour), and it was before Islam had spread amongst people. And in the narration transmitted by Ibn Shihab the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is reported to have said: It is not meant that you should compel the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for prayer. And (this he said) when 'Umar b. Khattab called (the Holy Prophet) in a loud voice.  

مسلم:٦٣٨a – وَحَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ سَوَّادٍ الْعَامِرِيُّ وَحَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى قَالاَ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ أَنَّ ابْنَ شِهَابٍ أَخْبَرَهُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عُرْوَةُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ
