[Machine] He informed him that he heard Abu Hurairah say: A man asked the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , saying: O Messenger of Allah, we ride the sea and carry with us a little water. If we perform ablution with it, we become thirsty. Can we perform ablution with sea water? So the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said: Its water is pure, and its dead are lawful. And Al-Julah followed up on his narration from Sa'id bin Salamah.
أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّا نَرْكَبُ الْبَحْرَ وَنَحْمِلُ مَعَنْا الْقَلِيلَ مِنَ الْمَاءِ فَإِنْ تَوَضَّأْنَا بِهِ عَطِشْنَا أَفَنَتَوَضَّأُ بِمَاءِ الْبَحْرِ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ هُوَ الطَّهُورُ مَاؤُهُ الْحِلُّ مَيْتَتُهُ وَقَدْ تَابَعَ الْجُلَاحُ أَبُو كَثِيرٍ صَفْوَانَ بْنَ سُلَيْمٍ عَلَى رِوَايَتِهِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ
