that he heard Abu Umama saying: We prayed the Zuhr prayer with ʿUmar bin ʿAbdul ʿAziz and then went to Anas bin Malik and found him offering the ʿAsr prayer. I asked him, "O uncle! Which prayer have you offered?" He said 'The ʿAsr and this is (the time of) the prayer of Allah s Apostle which we used to pray with him."

الْعَصْرُ وَهَذِهِ صَلاَةُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ الَّتِي كُنَّا نُصَلِّي مَعَهُ

We used to practice coitus interrupt us during the lifetime of Messenger of Allah ﷺ .

كُنَّا نَعْزِلُ عَلَى عَهْدِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ

We used to practice coitus interrupt us while the Qur'an was being revealed. Jabir added: We used to practice coitus interrupt us during the lifetime of Messenger of Allah ﷺ while the Qur'an was being Revealed.

كُنَّا نَعْزِلُ عَلَى عَهْدِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَالْقُرْآنُ يَنْزِلُ

'Amr b. Abu Sufyan transmitted a hadith like this from Abu Huraira who narrated it from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ

Abu Zubair al-Makki reported that he had heard 'Abdullah b. Zubair uttering (the words) like that of the hadith (narrated above) at the end of the prayer after pronouncing salutation. He at the conclusion also said that he was making a mention of that from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ

This hadith has been narrated by Abdullah b. al-Sa'di from 'Umar b. al-Khattab who heard it from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ

We used to practise 'azl during the life of Messenger of Allah ﷺ.

سَمِعْتُ جَابِرًا يَقُولُ لَقَدْ كُنَّا نَعْزِلُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ

We used to practise 'azl during the lifetime of Messenger of Allah ﷺ. This (the news of this practise) reached Allah's Apostle ﷺ, and he did not forbid us.

كُنَّا نَعْزِلُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَلَمْ يَنْهَنَا

Sulaiman b. Yasir reported that Jabir gave this verdict. The inheritor has a right (to inherit) the life grant according to the statement of Jabir (b. 'Abdullah) (Allah be pleased with him) which he narrated from Messenger of Allah ﷺ.

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ

My nephew, leave him for he defended Messenger of Allah ﷺ.

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ

I offered the Friday prayer along with Anas ibn Malik. We were pushed to the pillars (due to the crowd of people). We, therefore, stopped forward and backward. Anas then said: We used to avoid it (setting a row between the pillars) during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.

أَنَسٌ كُنَّا نَتَّقِي هَذَا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ

"No one should sell in our markets except one who has understanding in the religion."

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ

(Another route for the same chain) similar in meaning.

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ

"I heard Abu Umamah bin Sahl say: 'We prayed Zuhr with 'Umar bin 'Abdul-'Aziz, then we went out and entered upon Anas bin Malik, and we found him praying 'Asr.'" I said: "O uncle, what is this prayer that you prayed?" He said: "'Asr; this is the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that we used to pray with him."

الْعَصْرَ وَهَذِهِ صَلاَةُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ الَّتِي كُنَّا نُصَلِّي

"Abu Tamim Al-Jaishani stood up to pray two Rak'ahs before Maghrib, and I said to 'Uqbah bin 'Amir: 'Look at this man, what prayer is he praying?' He turned and looked at him, and said: 'This is a prayer that we used to pray at the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.'"

هَذِهِ صَلاَةٌ كُنَّا نُصَلِّيهَا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ

"We used to eat horse meat during the time of the Messenger of Allah."

كُنَّا نَأْكُلُ لُحُومَ الْخَيْلِ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ

'We used to practice coitus interruptus during the time of the Messenger of Allah when the Qur'an was being revealed.”

كُنَّا نَعْزِلُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَالْقُرْآنُ يَنْزِلُ

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ»

[AI] We used to give our pledges to the Prophet ﷺ , and he mentioned something similar to it.

كُنَّا نُعْطِي عَلَى عَهْدِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ

Once the Prophet ﷺ sent sheep as Hadi. (Using translation from Bukhārī 1701)

«أَهْدَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَرَّةً غَنَمًا»

[AI] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ compensated a man with two men.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَادَى رَجُلًا بِرَجُلَيْنِ

[AI] "We used to sell slave women and mothers of children during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ."

كُنَّا نَبِيعُ أُمَّهَاتِ الْأَوْلَادِ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ

[AI] He heard Anas saying that the moon split during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ .

انْشَقَّ الْقَمَرُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ

[AI] I heard Anas say that the moon split during the time of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ .

انْشَقَّ الْقَمَرُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ

'We used to practice coitus interruptus during the time of the Messenger of Allah when the Qur'an was being revealed.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1927)

عَنْ جَابِرٍ كُنَّا نَعْزِلُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَالْقُرْآنُ يَنْزِلُ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ presented a sheep to the house.

أَهْدَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَى الْبَيْتِ غَنَمًا

[AI] We used to make it during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.

قَدْ كُنَّا نَصْنَعُهُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ

[AI] Our dye was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, the woodsy and saffron.

كَانَ خِضَابُنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ الْوَرْسَ وَالزَّعْفَرَانَ

[AI] We enjoyed during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ without being forbidden from it, and no prohibition was revealed regarding it.

تَمَتَّعْنَا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَلَمْ يَنْهَنَا عَنْهَا وَلَمْ يَنْزِلْ فِيهَا نَهْيٌ

This tradition has also been transmitted by Sa'd (b. Abi Waqqas) from the Prophet ﷺ in a similar manner through a different chain of narrators. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1470)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ

عَنْهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ

We slaughtered a horse and ate it during the lifetime of Messenger of Allah ﷺ. (Using translation from Muslim 1942a)

أَكَلْنَا فَرَسًا لَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ

[AI] The Prophet of Allah ﷺ passed away and his shield was pledged.

تُوُفِّيَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَدِرْعُهُ مَرْهُونَةٌ

«إِنَّا كُنَّا نَتَّقِي هَذَا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ»

[AI] "We used to sell slaves during the time of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)."

كُنَّا «نَبِيعُ أُمَّهَاتِ الْأَوْلَادِ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ» صحيح

[AI] "The moon split during the time of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. And as for the narration of Abdullah son of Amr, it is authentic."

«انْشَقَّ الْقَمَرُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ»

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ»

[AI] "We used to consider during the time of the Prophet ﷺ that showing off is the minor form of associating partners with Allah."

«كُنَّا نَعُدُّ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنَّ الرِّيَاءَ الشِّرْكُ الْأَصْغَرُ»

This is how I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. (Using translation from Aḥmad 1372)

«رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ

I offered the Friday prayer along with Anas ibn Malik. We were pushed to the pillars (due to the crowd of people). We, therefore, stopped forward and backward. Anas then said: We used to avoid it (setting a row between the pillars) during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 673)

«كُنَّا نَتَّقِي هَذَا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ»

[AI] "We used to isolate ourselves during the era of the Prophet ﷺ and he never prohibited us from doing so."

«كُنَّا نَعْزِلُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَلَمْ يَنْهَنَا عَنْهُ»

We sold slave-mothers during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and of AbuBakr. When Umar was in power, he forbade us and we stopped. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3954)

«كُنَّا نَبِيعُ أُمَّهَاتِ الْأَوْلَادِ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَأَبِي بَكْرٍ فَلَمَّا كَانَ عُمَرُ نَهَى عَنْ بَيْعِهِنَّ»

[AI] And he said: "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ has prayed for me."

وَقَالَ «إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ دَعَا لِي»

[AI] "The moon split during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."

«انْشَقَّ الْقَمَرُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ»

[AI] "The Mosque of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ."

«مَسْجِدُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ»

[AI] Sa'd ibn 'Ubaid was called upon during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as a reciter.

كَانَ سَعْدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ يُسَمَّى عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ الْقَارِئَ

[AI] "Our dye during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was the wers and saffron."

«كَانَ خِضَابُنَا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ الْوَرْسُ وَالزَّعْفَرَانُ»

[AI] "The moon split during the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ ."

«انْشَقَّ الْقَمَرُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ»

[AI] "The drinker used to be beaten during the time of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ with hands, sandals, and sticks."

«كَانَ الشُّرَّابُ يُضْرَبُونَ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ بِالْأَيْدِي وَالنِّعَالِ وَالْعِصِيِّ»

[AI] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was born in the Year of the Elephant.

«وُلِدَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَامَ الْفِيلِ»
