عَنْ أَنَسٍ أَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ إِذَا سَلَّمُوا عَلَيْنَا كَيْفَ نَرُدُّ عَلَيْهِمْ؟ قَالَ قُولُوا وَعَلَيْكُمْ
the Prophet ﷺ said, "If the people of the Scripture greet you, then you should say (in reply), 'Wa'alaikum (And on you).' "
قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِذَا سَلَّمَ عَلَيْكُمْ أَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ فَقُولُوا وَعَلَيْكُمْ

عَنْ أَنَسٍ أَنَّعليه وسلم قَالُوا لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِنَّ أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ يُسَلِّمُونَ عَلَيْنَا فَكَيْفَ نَرُدُّ عَلَيْهِمْ قَالَ قُولُوا وَعَلَيْكُمْ
When the Jews offer you salutations, some of them say as-Sam-u-'Alaikum (death be upon you). You should say (in response to it): Let it be upon you.
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّ الْيَهُودَ إِذَا سَلَّمُوا عَلَيْكُمْ يَقُولُ أَحَدُهُمُ السَّامُ عَلَيْكُمْ فَقُلْ عَلَيْكَ
The Companions of the prophet ﷺ said to the prophet ﷺ: The people of the Book salute us. How should we reply to them? He said: say : the same to you.
أَنَّ أَصْحَابَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالُوا لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِنَّ أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ يُسَلِّمُونَ عَلَيْنَا فَكَيْفَ نَرُدُّ عَلَيْهِمْ قَالَ قُولُوا وَعَلَيْكُمْ
That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Indeed when a Jew gives Salam to one of you, then he is only saying: 'As-Samu 'Alaikum' (Death be upon you) so say: "Alaik (And upon you).'"
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّ الْيَهُودَ إِذَا سَلَّمَ عَلَيْكُمْ أَحَدُهُمْ فَإِنَّمَا يَقُولُ السَّامُ عَلَيْكُمْ فَقُلْ عَلَيْكَ
"When any of the People of the Book greets you with Salam (peace), then say, Wa 'alaikum(and also upon you)."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا سَلَّمَ عَلَيْكُمْ أَحَدٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ فَقُولُوا وَعَلَيْكُمْ
[AI] Indeed, the Prophet ﷺ said, "Verily, when the Jews greet you, they say 'as-salamu 'alaykum' (peace be upon you).’ Therefore, the Prophet ﷺ said to respond by saying 'wa 'alayka' (and upon you)’."
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ الْيَهُودَ إِذَا سَلَّمُوا عَلَيْكُمْ قَالُوا السَّامُ عَلَيْكُمْ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَقُلْ وَعَلَيْكَ
"When any of the People of the Book greets you with Salam (peace), then say, Wa 'alaikum(and also upon you)." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3697)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا سَلَّمَ عَلَيْكُمْ أَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ فَقُولُوا وَعَلَيْكُمْ
[AI] The Prophet's companions asked the Prophet ﷺ, "The people of the Book greet us, so how should we respond to them?" The Prophet replied, "Say, 'And upon you, as well as the pilgrims.' Shu'bah said, 'I did not ask Qatadah about this narration. Have you heard it from Anas?'"

[AI] The companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Messenger of Allah, the people of the Book greet us with peace, so how should we respond to them?" He said, "Say, 'And upon you.'"
أَصْحَابُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ يُسَلِّمُونَ عَلَيْنَا فَكَيْفَ نَرُدُّ عَلَيْهِمْ؟ قَالَ قُولُوا وَعَلَيْكُمْ
[AI] The companions of the Prophet ﷺ said to the Prophet ﷺ: "Indeed, the people of the scripture greet us with peace, so how should we respond to them?" The Prophet ﷺ replied: "Say unto them, 'And upon you be peace.'" Hajjaj said: "Shu'bah reported that I did not ask Qatadah about this hadith, did you hear it from Anas?"

Yahya related to me from Malik from Abdullah ibn Dinar that Abdullah ibn Umar said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When a jew greets you, and says 'Death to you' (as-samu alaykum) say, 'And to you.' " Yahya said, "Malik was asked whether a person who greeted a jew or christian, should apologise for it. He said, 'No'."

النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا سَلَّمَ عَلَيْكَ الْيَهُودِيُّ وَالنَّصْرَانِيُّ فَإِنَّمَا يَقُولُ السَّامُ عَلَيْكُمْ فَقُلْ عَلَيْكُمْ
Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When the Jews greet anyone of you they say: 'Sam'Alaika (death be upon you); so you should say; 'Wa 'Alaika (and upon you).'" (Using translation from Bukhārī 6928)
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ الْيَهُودَ إِذَا سَلَّمُوا قَالُوا السَّامُ عَلَيْكُمْ فَقُولُوا وَعَلَيْكُمْ
