Two men sneezed before the Prophet. The Prophet ﷺ said to one of them, "May Allah bestow His Mercy on you," but he did not say that to the other. On being asked (why), the Prophet ﷺ said, "That one praised Allah (at the time of sneezing), while the other did not praise Allah."

عَطَسَ رَجُلاَنِ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَشَمَّتَ أَحَدَهُمَا وَلَمْ يُشَمِّتِ الآخَرَ فَقِيلَ لَهُ فَقَالَ هَذَا حَمِدَ اللَّهَ وَهَذَا لَمْ يَحْمَدِ اللَّهَ

Two men sneezed before the Prophet ﷺ and he said Tashmit to one of them, while he did not say Tashmit to the other. So that man said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! You said Tashmit to that fellow but you did not say Tashmit to me. "The Prophet ﷺ said, "That man praised Allah, but you did not praise Allah."

سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا ؓ يَقُولُ عَطَسَ رَجُلاَنِ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَشَمَّتَ أَحَدَهُمَا وَلَمْ يُشَمِّتِ الآخَرَ فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ شَمَّتَّ هَذَا وَلَمْ تُشَمِّتْنِي قَالَ إِنَّ هَذَا حَمِدَ اللَّهَ وَلَمْ تَحْمَدِ اللَّهَ

So and so sneezed and you said: May Allah have mercy upon you. I also sneezed but you did not utter these words for me. Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: That person praised Allah, and you did not praise Allah.

عَطَسَ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ رَجُلاَنِ فَشَمَّتَ أَحَدَهُمَا وَلَمْ يُشَمِّتِ الآخَرَ فَقَالَ الَّذِي لَمْ يُشَمِّتْهُ عَطَسَ فُلاَنٌ فَشَمَّتَّهُ وَعَطَسْتُ أَنَا فَلَمْ تُشَمِّتْنِي قَالَ إِنَّ هَذَا حَمِدَ اللَّهَ وَإِنَّكَ لَمْ تَحْمَدِ اللَّهَ

Two men sneezed in the presence of the prophet (May peace be upon him). He said : Allah have mercy on you! To one and not to the other. He was asked: Messenger of Allah! Two persons sneezed. Ahmad’s version has: You invoked a blessing on one of them and left the other. He replied : This man praised Allah, and this man did not praise Allah.

that two men sneezed in the presence of the Prophet ﷺ; he responded to one of them and did not respond to the other. The one who was not responded to said: "O Messenger of Allah! You responded to this person and did not respond to me?' So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "He praised Allah while you did not praise Him."

أَنَّ رَجُلَيْنِ عَطَسَا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَشَمَّتَ أَحَدَهُمَا وَلَمْ يُشَمِّتِ الآخَرَ فَقَالَ الَّذِي لَمْ يُشَمِّتْهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ شَمَّتَّ هَذَا وَلَمْ تُشَمِّتْنِي فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّهُ حَمِدَ اللَّهَ وَإِنَّكَ لَمْ تَحْمَدِ اللَّهَ

"Two men sneezed in he presence of the Prophet ﷺ and he replied (said: YarhamukAllah; may Allah have mercy on you') to one and not to the other. [AI] Two men sneezed in the presence of the Prophet ﷺ , one of them being more honored than the other. The honorable man sneezed, but did not praise Allah, so the Prophet ﷺ did not respond to him. The other man sneezed and praised Allah, so the Prophet ﷺ responded by saying "Yarhamuk Allah" (May Allah have mercy on you). The honorable man then said, "I sneezed in your presence, but you did not respond to me, and this man sneezed in your presence and you responded to him." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Verily, this man mentioned Allah, so I mentioned him, but you forgot Allah, so I forgot you."

عَطَسَ رَجُلَانِ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَحَدُهُمَا أَشْرَفُ مِنَ الْآخَرِ فَعَطَسَ الشَّرِيفُ فَلَمْ يَحْمَدِ اللهَ فَلَمْ يُشَمِّتْهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَعَطَسَ الْآخَرُ فَحَمِدَ اللهَ فَشَمَّتَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ قَالَ فَقَالَ الشَّرِيفُ عَطَسْتُ عِنْدَكَ فَلَمْ تُشَمِّتْنِي وَعَطَسَ هَذَا عِنْدَكَ فَشَمَّتَّهُ فَقَالَ إِنَّ هَذَا ذَكَرَ اللهَ فَذَكَرْتُهُ وَإِنَّكَ نَسِيتَ اللهَ فَنَسِيتُكَ

[AI] A man sneezed in front of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , and the other man praised him (the man who sneezed) by saying "May Allah have mercy on you." The Prophet ﷺ then said, "When one of you sneezes and praises Allah, let him say 'May Allah guide you and rectify your condition' (to the one who sneezed)."

[AI] Two men sneezed in front of the Prophet ﷺ, and one of them received blessings or was praised. It was said to him, "These two men sneezed, and you praised or blessed only one of them?" He replied, "Indeed, this one praised Allah, and that one did not praise Allah." Yahya said, "And perhaps he said this or something similar."
