‘Abbad b. Tamim quoted his paternal uncle as saying that he had seen the Messenger of Allah ﷺ lying on his back in the mosque according to Qa’nabi’s version) placing one foot over the other.  

أبو داود:٤٨٦٦حَدَّثَنَا النُّفَيْلِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ ح

وَحَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ عَنْ عَمِّهِ أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ مُسْتَلْقِيًا قَالَ الْقَعْنَبِيُّ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ وَاضِعًا إِحْدَى رِجْلَيْهِ عَلَى الأُخْرَى

that his uncle said, "I saw Messenger of Allah ﷺ lying flat (on his back) in the mosque with one leg on the other." Narrated Saʿid bin Al-Musaiyab that ʿUmar and ʿUthman used to do the same.

أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ مُسْتَلْقِيًا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ وَاضِعًا إِحْدَى رِجْلَيْهِ عَلَى الأُخْرَى وَعَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ قَالَ كَانَ عُمَرُ وَعُثْمَانُ يَفْعَلاَنِ ذَلِكَ  

malik:9-95Mālik > Ibn Shihāb > ʿAbbād b. Tamīm > ʿAmmih

Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Abbad ibn Tamim from his paternal uncle that he saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ lying down in the mosque with one foot on top of the other.
