Along with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ we besieged the palace of at-Ta'if. The narrator, Mutadh, said: I heard my father (sometimes) say: "Palace of at-Ta'if," and (sometimes) "Fort of at-Ta'if," which are the same. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: he who causes an arrow to hit its mark in Allah's cause will have it counted as a degree for him (in Paradise). He then transmitted the rest of the tradition. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: If a Muslim man emancipates a Muslim man, Allah, the Exalted, will make every bone of his protection for every bone of his emancipator from Hell; and if a Muslim woman emancipates a Muslim woman, Allah will make every bone of hers protection for every bone of her emancipator from Hell on the Day of Resurrection.

[AI] Narrated to us (the narrator) a narration that you (the listener) heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . Your father belongs to Allah, so be aware. He said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'Whoever frees a Muslim slave, his freedom from the Hellfire will be proportional to every bone in the slave's body, bone for bone. And whoever frees two Muslim female slaves, their freedom from the Hellfire will be proportional to every bone in both their bodies, bone for bone. And whoever frees a Muslim female slave, her freedom from the Hellfire will be proportional to every bone in her body, bone for bone."

حَدِّثْنَا حَدِيثًاسَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ لِلَّهِ أَبُوكَ وَاحْذَرْ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ أَيُّمَا رَجُلٍ أَعْتَقَ رَجُلًا مُسْلِمًا كَانَ فِكَاكَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ يُجْزَى بِكُلِّ عَظْمٍ مِنْ عِظَامِهِ عَظْمًا مِنْ عِظَامِهِ وَأَيُّمَا رَجُلٍ مُسْلِمٍ أَعْتَقَ امْرَأَتَيْنِ مُسْلِمَتَيْنِ كَانَتَا فِكَاكَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ يُجْزَى بِكُلِّ عَظْمَيْنِ مِنْ عِظَامِهِمَا عَظْمًا مِنْ عِظَامِهِ وَأَيُّمَا امْرَأَةٍ مُسْلِمَةٍ أَعْتَقَتْ امْرَأَةً مُسْلِمَةً كَانَتْ فِكَاكَهَا مِنَ النَّارِ تُجْزَى بِكُلِّ عَظْمٍ مِنْ عِظَامِهَا عَظْمًا مِنْ عِظَامِهَا

[AI] We besieged the fortress or palace of Ta'if with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . He said, "Whoever reaches the enemy's line with an arrow in the cause of Allah will have a rank in Paradise." That day, I shot sixteen arrows. Whoever shoots an arrow in the cause of Allah will have a justly freed slave as his share. Whoever is struck with white hair in the cause of Allah will have a light on the Day of Resurrection. And whoever frees a Muslim slave, Allah will make every bone from his bones a bone from the fire. And whoever frees a Muslim woman, Allah will make every bone from her bones a bone from the fire.

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah (May ﷺ ) say, "Whoever frees a Muslim slave, Allah will make every bone from his bones a bone from the fire. And whoever emancipates a female Muslim slave, Allah will make every bone from her bones a bone from the fire."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «أَيُّمَا رَجُلٍ أَعْتَقَ رَجُلًا مُسْلِمًا فَإِنَّ اللهَ يَجْعَلُ وِقَاءَ كُلِّ عَظْمٍ مِنْ عِظَامِهِ عَظْمًا مِنْ عِظَامِ مُحَرَّرَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ وَأَيُّمَا امْرَأَةٍ مَسْلَمَةٍ أَعْتَقَتِ امْرَأَةً مَسْلَمَةً فَإِنَّ اللهَ جَاعِلٌ وِقَاءَ كُلِّ عَظْمٍ مِنْ عِظَامِهَا عَظْمًا مِنْ عَظْمِ مُحَرَّرِهَا مِنَ النَّارِ»

[AI] I witnessed with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ the palace of Ta'if, and I heard the Prophet of Allah ﷺ say, "Whoever throws an arrow and it reaches its target, he will have a degree in Paradise." A man said, "O Prophet of Allah, if I throw an arrow and it reaches its target, will I have a degree in Paradise?" He said, "Yes." So he threw the arrow and it reached its target. He said, "On that day, I threw sixteen arrows." And I heard the Prophet of Allah ﷺ say, "Whoever turns gray in the way of Allah, they will have light on the Day of Resurrection. And whoever throws an arrow, they will have light on the Day of Resurrection. And any man who emancipates a Muslim slave, then Allah will make every bone from his bones safe from the Fire. And any Muslim woman who emancipates a Muslim woman, then Allah will make every bone from her bones a bone of her emancipated from the Fire." It was also narrated by Asad ibn Wada'ah from Abi Najeeh Amr ibn Abasah.

شَهِدْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَصْرَ الطَّائِفِ فَسَمِعْتُ نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ رَمَى بِسَهْمٍ فَبَلَغَ فَلَهُ دَرَجَةٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ إِنْ رَمَيْتُ بِسَهْمٍ فَلِي دَرَجَةٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ فَرَمَى فَبَلَغَ قَالَ وَبَلَغْتُ يَوْمَئِذٍ سِتَّةَ عَشَرَ سَهْمًا قَالَ وَسَمِعْتُ نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ شَابَ شَيْبَةً فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ كَانَتْ لَهُ نُورًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَمَنْ رَمَى بِسَهْمٍ كَانَ لَهُ نُورًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَأَيُّمَا رَجُلٍ أَعْتَقَ رَجُلًا مُسْلِمًا فَإِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ جَاعِلٌ وِقَاءَ كُلِّ عَظْمٍ مِنْ عِظَامِهِ مِنَ النَّارِ وَأَيُّمَا امْرَأَةٍ مُسْلِمَةٍ أَعْتَقَتِ امْرَأَةً مُسْلِمَةً فَإِنَّ اللهَ جَاعِلٌ وِقَاءَ كُلِّ عَظْمٍ مِنْ عِظَامِهَا عَظْمًا مِنْ عِظَامِ مُحَرَّرِهَا مِنَ النَّارِ وَرَوَاهُ أَيْضًا أَسَدُ بْنُ وَدَاعَةَ عَنْ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَبَسَةَ

[AI] Narrated to us a Hadith that you heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ : "Your father for Allah and be cautious." He said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'Whoever emancipates a Muslim slave, then his reward for freeing him will be a bone for every bone in the slave's body, and whoever emancipates two Muslim women, then their reward for freeing them will be two bones for every bone in their bodies, and whoever a Muslim woman emancipates another Muslim woman, then her reward for freeing her will be a bone for every bone in her body.'"

[AI] We surrounded the palace of Ta'if with the Prophet ﷺ , and I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "Whoever throws an arrow in the cause of Allah, it will be a freeing of a slave for him." On that day, I reached sixteen arrows, and I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "Whoever throws an arrow in the cause of Allah, it will be a rank for him in Paradise. And whoever becomes gray-haired in Islam, it will be a light for him on the Day of Resurrection. And whatever Muslim man frees a Muslim slave, then Allah will make every bone of his from the bones of hellfire a bone from the bones of his freed slave. And whatever Muslim woman frees a Muslim woman, then Allah will make every bone of hers from the bones of hellfire a bone from the bones of her freed slave."
