the Messenger of Allah said: "When you are in Salat then do not spit on your right, but behind you or toward your left, or under your left foot."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا كُنْتَ فِي الصَّلاَةِ فَلاَ تَبْزُقْ عَنْ يَمِينِكَ وَلَكِنْ خَلْفَكَ أَوْ تِلْقَاءَ شِمَالِكَ أَوْ تَحْتَ قَدَمِكَ الْيُسْرَى قَالَ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ وَابْنِ عُمَرَ وَأَنَسٍ وَأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

'When you are praying, do not spit to the front or to your right. Spit behind you or to your left if there is no one there, otherwise do this.' And he spat beneath his foot and rubbed it.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا كُنْتَ تُصَلِّي فَلاَ تَبْزُقَنَّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ وَلاَ عَنْ يَمِينِكَ وَابْصُقْ خَلْفَكَ أَوْ تِلْقَاءَ شِمَالِكَ إِنْ كَانَ فَارِغًا وَإِلاَّ فَهَكَذَا وَبَزَقَ تَحْتَ رِجْلِهِ وَدَلَكَهُ

“The Prophet ﷺ said: ‘When you perform prayer, do not spit in front of you or to your right, but spit to your left or beneath your feet.’”

النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِذَا صَلَّيْتَ فَلاَ تَبْزُقَنَّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ وَلاَ عَنْ يَمِينِكَ وَلَكِنِ ابْزُقْ عَنْ يَسَارِكَ أَوْ تَحْتَ قَدَمِكَ

[AI] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ that he said: "When you pray, do not spit in front of you or to your right, but rather spit to your left if there is an empty space. Otherwise, spit under your foot and wipe it."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ إِذَا صَلَّيْتَ فَلَا تَبْصُقْ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ وَلَا عَنْ يَمِينِكَ وَلَكِنْ ابْصُقْ تِلْقَاءَ شِمَالِكَ إِنْ كَانَ فَارِغًا وَإِلَّا فَتَحْتَ قَدَمِكَ وَادْلُكْهُ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Do not spit in front of you or to your right, but rather to your left or in front of you, then cover it."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا تَبْصُقْ أَمَامَكَ وَلَا عَنْ يَمِينِكَ وَلَكِنْ مِنْ تِلْقَاءِ شِمَالِكَ أَوْ تَحْتَقَدَمِكَ ثُمَّ ادْلُكْهُ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When you are in prayer, do not spit in front of you nor to your right, but spit towards your left if it is empty or under your feet." And he indicated with his foot as if he were directing it towards his foot. "This saying is from Abu Al-Abbas's Hadith."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِذَا كُنْتَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ فَلَا تَبْزُقْ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ وَلَا عَنْ يَمِينِكَ وَلَكِنِ ابْصُقْ تِلْقَاءَ شِمَالِكَ إِنْ كَانَ فَارِغًا أَوْ تَحْتَ قَدَمَيْكَ» وَقَالَ بِرِجْلِهِ كَأَنَّهُ يَحُطُّهُ بِقَدَمِهِ «هَذَا اللَّفْظُ حَدِيثُ أَبِي الْعَبَّاسِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When you pray, do not spit in front of you or to your right, rather spit towards your left if it is empty, otherwise, you would be spitting under your foot." And he pointed with his foot as he examined the ground.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِذَا صَلَّيْتَ فَلَا تَبْصُقَنَّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ وَلَا عَنْ يَمِينِكَ وَابْصُقْ تِلْقَاءَ شِمَالِكَ إِنْ كَانَ فَارِغًا وَإِلَّا فَتَحْتَ قَدَمِكَ» وَأَشَارَ بِرِجْلِهِ فَفَحَصَ الْأَرْضَ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "While you are in prayer, do not spit towards your face or to your right, but rather to your left if there is space, and if not, then beneath your feet."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِذَا كُنْتَ فِي صَلَاةٍ فَلَا تَبْصُقْ تُجَاهَ وَجْهِكَ وَلَا عَنْ يَمِينِكَ وَلَكِنْ عَنْ يَسَارِكَ إِنْ كَانَ فَارِغًا وَإِلَّا فَتَحْتَ قَدَمِكَ»

[AI] Narrated Tariq bin Abdullah Al-Muharibi: A man from the companions of the Prophet ﷺ said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me, "When you pray, do not spit in front of you or to your right, but spit towards your left, if there is something empty or under your foot."

ثنا طَارِقُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْمُحَارِبِيُّ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِذَا صَلَّيْتَ فَلَا تَبْزُقْ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ وَلَا عَنْ يَمِينِكَ وَلَكِنِ ابْزُقْ تِلْقَاءَ شِمَالِكَ إِنْ كَانَ فَارِغًا أَوْ تَحْتَ رِجْلِكَ»

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: When a man stands with the intention of saying prayer, or if any of you says prayer, he should not spit before him, nor at his right side; but he should do so at his left side, if there is a place for it; or he should spit under his left foot and then rub it off. قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِذَا قَامَ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي الصَّلَاةِ فَلَا يَبْزُقَنَّ أَمَامَهُ وَلَا عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَلَكِنْ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ إِنْ كَانَ فَارِغًا أَوْ تَحْتَ قَدَمِهِ الْيُسْرَى»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When you pray, do not spit in front of you or to your right, but to your left or under your left foot."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِذَا صَلَّيْتَ فَلَا تَبْزُقْ أَمَامَكَ وَلَا عَنْ يَمِينِكَ وَلَكِنْ عَنْ شِمَالِكَ أَوْ تَحْتَ قَدَمِكَ الْيُسْرَى»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When you spit, do not spit in front of you or to your right, but rather spit to your left if there is nothing there or under your foot."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «إِذَا بَزَقْتَ فَلَا تَبْزُقْ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ وَلَا عَنْ يَمِينِكَ وَلَكِنِ ابْزُقْ تِلْقَاءَ شِمَالِكَ إِنْ كَانَ فَارِغًا أَوْ تَحْتَ قَدَمِكَ»

'When you are praying, do not spit to the front or to your right. Spit behind you or to your left if there is no one there, otherwise do this.' And he spat beneath his foot and rubbed it.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 726)

لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِذَا صَلَّيْتَ فَلَا تَبْزُقْ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ وَلَا عَنْ يَمِينِكَ وَلَكِنِ ابْزُقْ تِلْقَاءَ شِمَالِكَ إِنْ كَانَ فَارِغًا أَوْ تَحْتَ رِجْلِكَ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When you are in prayer, do not spit in front of you or to your right. Spit to your left, and if there is no opportunity to do so, then spit under your left foot." Then he said, "Like this," and he wiped the ground.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِذَا كُنْتَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ فَلَا تَبْزُقْ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ وَلَا عَنْ يَمِينِكَ ابْزُقْ تِلْقَاءَ شِمَالِكَ فَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ فَارِغًا فَتَحْتَ قَدَمِكَ الْيُسْرَى» ثُمَّ قَالَ «هَكَذَا» وَمَسَحَ بِالْأَرْضِ

'When you are praying, do not spit to the front or to your right. Spit behind you or to your left if there is no one there, otherwise do this.' And he spat beneath his foot and rubbed it.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 726)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِذَا كُنْتَ تُصَلِّي فَلَا تَبْزُقْ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ وَلَا عَنْ يَمِينِكِ وَابْزُقْ خَلَّفَكَ أَوْ تِلْقَاءَ شِمَالِكَ إِنْ كَانَ فَارِغًا وَإِلَّا فَهَكَذَا» وَبَزَقَ تَحْتَ رِجْلِهِ وَدَلَكَهُ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me: "When you pray, do not spit in front of you or to your right, but instead spit to your left if it is empty or under your left foot." And he said with his foot, he used to scrape it with his foot. Abu Al-Ahwas narrated it from Mansoor and he said: "Or under his left foot."

قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا صَلَّيْتَ فَلَا تَبْصُقَنَّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ وَلَا عَنْ يَمِينِكَ وَابْصُقْ تِلْقَاءَ شِمَالِكَ إِنْ كَانَ فَارِغًا أَوْ تَحْتَ قَدَمِكَ وَقَالَ بِرِجْلِهِ كَانَ يَحُكُّهُ بِقَدَمِهِ وَرَوَاهُ أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ فَقَالَ أَوْ تَحْتَ قَدَمِهِ الْيُسْرَى

"When any one of you prays, let him not spit in front of him or to his right, rather let him spit to his left or beneath his feet." Then the Prophet ﷺ spat like this on his garment and rubbed it. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 309)

"إذَا صلَّى إحدُكم فلا يَبزُقْ بين يديه، ولا عَنْ يمينِه، ولكنْ عن يسارهِ أوْ تحتَ قدَمِهِ".

"إذا صلَّيتَ فلا تْبزُقنَّ بين يديكَ، ولا عنْ يمينِك، ولكِنْ ابْزُق تِلقاءَ شِمالِكَ إنْ كانَ فارغًا، وإلَّا فَتحتَ قدمَكَ اليُسرى وادلُكه" .
