Danger of going to extremes

muslim:2670 – Abū Bakr b. Abū Shaybah > Ḥafṣ b. Ghiyāth And Yaḥyá b. Saʿīd > Ibn Jurayj > Sulaymān b. ʿAtīq > Ṭalq b. Ḥabīb > al-Aḥnaf b. Qays > ʿAbdullāh

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Ruined were those who are over-scrupulous." He repeated this thrice.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: «هَلَكَ الْمُتَنَطِّعُونَ» قَالَهَا ثَلاَثًا
