Marthad ibn Abdullah said: When AbuAyyub came upon us to fight the infidels and in those days Uqbah ibn Amir was the Governor of Egypt, he (Uqbah) delayed the sunset prayer. Hence AbuAyyub stood and said: What kind of prayer is this, Uqbah? He said: We were busy. He said: Did you not hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: My community will remain well, or he said: will remain on its natural condition, so long as it would not delay the evening prayer until the stars shine brightly just like a network.

لَهُ مَا هَذِهِ الصَّلاَةُ يَا عُقْبَةُ فَقَالَ شُغِلْنَا قَالَ أَمَا سَمِعْتَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لاَ تَزَالُ أُمَّتِي بِخَيْرٍ أَوْ قَالَ عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ مَا لَمْ يُؤَخِّرُوا الْمَغْرِبَ إِلَى أَنْ تَشْتَبِكَ النُّجُومُ

[AI] From the Prophet (pbuh) said, "My Ummah (nation) will always remain in goodness as long as they do not expect the clash of the stars at Maghrib (sunset)."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا تَزَالُ أُمَّتِي بِخَيْرٍ مَا لَمْ يَنْتَظِرُوا بِالْمَغْرِبِ اشْتِبَاكَ النُّجُومِ»

My nation will continue in goodness so long as they hasten to break their fast and prolong the pre-fasting meal.

قَالَ قَدِمَ عَلَيْنَا أَبُو أَيُّوبَ غَازِيًا وَعُقْبَةُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَلَى مِصْرَ فَأَخَّرَ الْمَغْرِبَ فَقَامَ إِلَيْهِ أَبُو أَيُّوبَ فَقَالَ مَا هَذِهِ الصَّلَاةُ يَا عُقْبَةُ؟ فَقَالَ شُغِلْنَا قَالَ أَمَا وَاللهِ مَا بِي إِلَّا أَنْ يَظُنَّ النَّاسُ أَنَّكَ رَأَيْتَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَصْنَعُ هَذَا أَمَا سَمِعْتَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ: «لَا تَزَالُ أُمَّتِي بِخَيْرٍ أَوْ عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ مَا لَمْ يُؤَخِّرُوا الْمَغْرِبَ إِلَى أَنْ تَشْتَبِكَ النُّجُومُ۔»

[AI] "Do people think that you have seen the Messenger of Allah ﷺ doing this? Haven't you heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'My nation will always be upon goodness as long as they do not delay the Maghrib prayer until the stars appear.'"

أَنْ يَظُنَّ النَّاسُ أَنَّكَ رَأَيْتَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَصْنَعُ هَذَا؟ أَمَا سَمِعْتَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَا تَزَالُ أُمَّتِي بِخَيْرٍ أَوْ عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ مَا لَمْ يُؤَخِّرُوا الْمَغْرِبَ إِلَى أَنْ تَشْتَبِكَ النُّجُومُ ؟

[AI] "People think that you have seen the Messenger of Allah ﷺ doing such things. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "My Ummah will always be on the right path as long as they do not delay Maghrib prayer until the stars start to appear.""

أَنْ يَظُنَّ النَّاسُ أَنَّكَ رَأَيْتَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَصْنَعُ هَكَذَا سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَا يَزَالُ أُمَّتِي بِخَيْرٍ أَوْ عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ مَا لَمْ يُؤَخِّرُوا الْمَغْرِبَ حَتَّى يَشْتَبِكَ النُّجُومُ»

[AI] Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ, he said, "The matter of my Ummah will remain upon the Fitrah (natural disposition) as long as they do not delay the Maghrib prayer until the stars appear."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا يَزَالُ أَمْرُ أُمَّتِي عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ مَا لَمْ يُؤَخِّرُوا الْمَغْرِبَ حَتَّى يَشْتَبِكَ النُّجُومُ»

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , say, "My ummah will always be in good condition, or on the right path, as long as they do not delay Maghrib prayer until the stars start to appear.

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَا تَزَالُ أُمَّتِي بِخَيْرٍ أَوْ عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ مَا لَمْ يُؤَخِّرُوا الْمَغْرِبَ حَتَّى تَشْتَبِكَ النُّجُومُ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "My followers will continue to remain on the Fitrah as long as they offer the Maghrib prayer before the appearance of the stars."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا تَزَالُ أُمَّتِي عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ مَا صَلُّوا الْمَغْرِبَ قَبْلَ اطِّلَاعِ النُّجُومِ»

[AI] That people may think that you have seen the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and then you act as if you have heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "My nation will always be in goodness or upon the natural inclination as long as they do not delay the Maghrib prayer until the stars appear."

أَنْ يَظُنَّ النَّاسُ أَنَّكَ رَأَيْتَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ ثُمَّ تَصْنَعُ هَكَذَا سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَا تَزَالُ أُمَّتِي بِخَيْرٍ أَوْ عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ مَا لَمْ يُؤَخِّرُوا الْمَغْرِبَ حَتَّى تَشْتَبِكَ النُّجُومُ

[AI] That the Prophet of Allah ﷺ said, "My ummah (followers) will always remain on the natural disposition as long as they perform the Maghrib prayer before the rising of the stars."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَا تَزَالُ أُمَّتِي عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ مَا صَلَّوِا الْمَغْرِبَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ النُّجُومِ

"بَادِرُوا بِصَلاةِ المَغرِبِ قبْلَ طُلُوع النَّجم".

"لا تَزَالُ أُمَّتِي عَلَى الفِطرَةِ مَا لمْ يُؤَخِّرُوا المَغْرِبَ إلى اشْتبَاك النجوم".

"لا تَزَالُ أمَّتِي عَلَى الفِطرَةِ مَا صَلُّوا المَغْرِبَ قبْلَ طُلُوع النُّجُوم".

"لا تَزَالُ طَائِفَةٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي عَلَى الفِطرة مَا صَلَّوْا صَلاةَ المغربِ قَبل أنْ تَبدُوَ النجومُ".
