I said to Jabir b. Samura: Did you have the privilege of sitting in the company of Messenger of Allah ﷺ? He said: Yes, very frequently, and added: He did not stand up (and go) from the place where he offered the dawn prayer until the sun rose, and after the rising of the sun he stood up, and they (his Companions) entered into conversation with one another and they talked of the things (that they did during the Days of Ignorance), and they laughed (on their unreasonable and ridiculous acts). Messenger of Allah ﷺ smiled only.  

قُلْتُ لِجَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ أَكُنْتَ تُجَالِسُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ نَعَمْ كَثِيرًا كَانَ لاَ يَقُومُ مِنْ مُصَلاَّهُ الَّذِي يُصَلِّي فِيهِ الصُّبْحَ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ فَإِذَا طَلَعَتْ قَامَ وَكَانُوا يَتَحَدَّثُونَ فَيَأْخُذُونَ فِي أَمْرِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَيَضْحَكُونَ وَيَتَبَسَّمُ ﷺ  

[Machine] I asked Jabir ibn Samurah, "What would the Prophet ﷺ do after praying Fajr?" He said, "He would sit in his place of prayer until the sun rises."  

قُلْتُ لِجَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ كَيْفَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَصْنَعُ إِذَا صَلَّى الْفَجْرَ؟ قَالَ كَانَ يَجْلِسُ فِي مُصَلَّاهُ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ  

[Machine] "When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed the Fajr prayer, he would sit in his place of prayer until the sun rose. They would sit and talk about the matters of the pre-Islamic era and laugh and smile."  

«كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا صَلَّى الْفَجْرَ جَلَسَ فِي مُصَلَّاهُ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ وَكَانُوا يَجْلِسُونَ فَيَتَحَدَّثُونَ وَيَأْخُذُونَ فِي أَمْرِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَيَضْحَكُونَ وَيَتَبَسَّمُ ﷺ»  

I said to Jabir b. Samura: Did you have the privilege of sitting in the company of Messenger of Allah ﷺ? قُلْتُ لِجَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ أَكُنْتَ تُجَالِسُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ كَثِيرًا كَانَ «لَا يَقُومُ مِنْ مُصَلَّاهُ الَّذِي يُصَلِّي فِيهِ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ فَإِذَا طَلَعَتْ قَامَ وَكَانَ يُطِيلُ الصَّمْتَ وَكَانُوا يَتَحَدَّثُونَ فَيَأْخُذُونَ فِي أَمْرِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَيَضْحَكُونَ ويَبْتَسِمُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ»  

"I said to Jabir bin Samurah: 'Did you used to sit with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?" He said: 'Yes.' When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had prayed fajr, he would sit in the place where he had prayed until the sun rose, and his companions would talk and remember things from the time of Jahilliyah and recite poetry, and they would laugh and he would smile.'" "I said to Jabir bin Samurah: 'Did you used to sit with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?" He said: 'Yes.' I said to Jabir b. Samura: Did you sit in the company of the Messenger of Allah (may peace he upon him)? He said: Yes, very often. He (the Holy Prophet) used to sit at the place where he observed the morning or dawn prayer till the sun rose or when it had risen; he would stand, and they (his Companions) would talk about matters (pertaining to the days) of ignorance, and they would laugh (on these matters) while (the Holy Prophet) only smiled.
