Simak narrated on the authority of Jabir b. Samura that when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ observed the dawn prayer, he sat at the place of worship till the sun had risen enough.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا صَلَّى الْفَجْرَ جَلَسَ فِي مُصَلاَّهُ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ حَسَنًا

I said to Jabir b. Samura: Did you have the privilege of sitting in the company of Messenger of Allah ﷺ? He said: Yes, very frequently, and added: He did not stand up (and go) from the place where he offered the dawn prayer until the sun rose, and after the rising of the sun he stood up, and they (his Companions) entered into conversation with one another and they talked of the things (that they did during the Days of Ignorance), and they laughed (on their unreasonable and ridiculous acts). Messenger of Allah ﷺ smiled only.

قُلْتُ لِجَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ أَكُنْتَ تُجَالِسُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ نَعَمْ كَثِيرًا كَانَ لاَ يَقُومُ مِنْ مُصَلاَّهُ الَّذِي يُصَلِّي فِيهِ الصُّبْحَ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ فَإِذَا طَلَعَتْ قَامَ وَكَانُوا يَتَحَدَّثُونَ فَيَأْخُذُونَ فِي أَمْرِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَيَضْحَكُونَ وَيَتَبَسَّمُ ﷺ

When the Prophet ﷺ prayed the dawn prayer, he sat cross-legged where he was till the sun had come well up.

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِذَا صَلَّى الْفَجْرَ تَرَبَّعَ فِي مَجْلِسِهِ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ حَسْنَاءَ

"When the Prophet prayed Fajr he would remain seated where he had prayed until the sun had risen."

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِذَا صَلَّى الْفَجْرَ قَعَدَ فِي مُصَلاَّهُ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ

"When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed fajr, he would sit in the place where he had prayed until the sun rose."

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا صَلَّى الْفَجْرَ قَعَدَ فِي مُصَلاَّهُ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ

"I said to Jabir bin Samurah: 'Did you used to sit with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?" He said: 'Yes.' When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had prayed fajr, he would sit in the place where he had prayed until the sun rose, and his companions would talk and remember things from the time of Jahilliyah and recite poetry, and they would laugh and he would smile.'"

قُلْتُ لِجَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ كُنْتَ تُجَالِسُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ نَعَمْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا صَلَّى الْفَجْرَ جَلَسَ فِي مُصَلاَّهُ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ فَيَتَحَدَّثُ أَصْحَابُهُ يَذْكُرُونَ حَدِيثَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ وَيُنْشِدُونَ الشِّعْرَ وَيَضْحَكُونَ وَيَتَبَسَّمُ ﷺ

"When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed fajr, he would sit in the place where he had prayed until the sun rose." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1357)

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا صَلَّى الْفَجْرَ قَعَدَ فِي مُصَلَّاهُ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ

"When the Prophet prayed Fajr he would remain seated where he had prayed until the sun had risen." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 585)

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِذَا صَلَّى الْفَجْرَ جَلَسَ فِي مُصَلَّاهُ لَمْ يَرْجِعْ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ

[AI] I asked Jabir ibn Samurah, "What would the Prophet ﷺ do after praying Fajr?" He said, "He would sit in his place of prayer until the sun rises."

قُلْتُ لِجَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ كَيْفَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَصْنَعُ إِذَا صَلَّى الْفَجْرَ؟ قَالَ كَانَ يَجْلِسُ فِي مُصَلَّاهُ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ

"When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed fajr, he would sit in the place where he had prayed until the sun rose." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1357)

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا صَلَّى الْغَدَاةَ جَلَسَ فِي مُصَلَّاهُ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ حَسْنَاءَ

"When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed fajr, he would sit in the place where he had prayed until the sun rose." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1357)

«كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا صَلَّى الْفَجْرَ جَلَسَ فِي مَجْلِسِهِ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ»

"When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed fajr, he would sit in the place where he had prayed until the sun rose." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1357)

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِذَا صَلَّى الْفَجْرَ يَقْعُدُ فِي مَجْلِسِهِ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ»

I said to Jabir b. Samura: Did you have the privilege of sitting in the company of Messenger of Allah ﷺ? He said: Yes, very frequently, and added: He did not stand up (and go) from the place where he offered the dawn prayer until the sun rose, and after the rising of the sun he stood up, and they (his Companions) entered into conversation with one another and they talked of the things (that they did during the Days of Ignorance), and they laughed (on their unreasonable and ridiculous acts). قُلْتُ لِجَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ أَكُنْتَ تُجَالِسُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ كَثِيرًا كَانَ «لَا يَقُومُ مِنْ مُصَلَّاهُ الَّذِي يُصَلِّي فِيهِ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ فَإِذَا طَلَعَتْ قَامَ وَكَانَ يُطِيلُ الصَّمْتَ وَكَانُوا يَتَحَدَّثُونَ فَيَأْخُذُونَ فِي أَمْرِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَيَضْحَكُونَ ويَبْتَسِمُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ»

[AI] The Prophet, ﷺ , used to not get up from his place of prayer, where he prayed Fajr, until the sun rises.

«كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِذَا صَلَّى الْفَجْرَ لَمْ يَقُمْ مِنْ مَجْلِسِهِ الَّذِي صَلَّى فِيهِ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ»

"When the Prophet prayed Fajr he would remain seated where he had prayed until the sun had risen." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 585)

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِذَا صَلَّى الْفَجْرَ قَعَدَ فِي مُصَلَّاهُ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسَ»

"I said to Jabir bin Samurah: 'Did you used to sit with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?" He said: 'Yes.' When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had prayed fajr, he would sit in the place where he had prayed until the sun rose, and his companions would talk and remember things from the time of Jahilliyah and recite poetry, and they would laugh and he would smile.'" قُلْتُ لِجَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ كُنْتَ تُجَالِسُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِذَا صَلَّى الْفَجْرَ جَلَسَ فِي مُصَلَّاهُ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ فَيَتَحَدَّثُ أَصْحَابُهُ وَيَذْكُرُونَ حَدِيثَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ وَيُنْشِدُونَ الشِّعْرَ وَيَضْحَكُونَ وَيَتَبَسَّمُ ﷺ»

"I said to Jabir bin Samurah: 'Did you used to sit with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?" He said: 'Yes.' When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had prayed fajr, he would sit in the place where he had prayed until the sun rose, and his companions would talk and remember things from the time of Jahilliyah and recite poetry, and they would laugh and he would smile.'" قُلْتُ لِجَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ كُنْتَ تُجَالِسُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا صَلَّى الْفَجْرَ جَلَسَ فِي مُصَلَّاهُ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ فَيَتَحَدَّثُ أَصْحَابُهُ وَيَذْكُرُونَ حَدِيثَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ وَيُنْشِدُونَ الشِّعْرَ وَيَضْحَكُونَ وَيَتَبَسَّمُ»

I said to Jabir b. Samura: Did you sit in the company of the Messenger of Allah (may peace he upon him)? He said: Yes, very often. He (the Holy Prophet) used to sit at the place where he observed the morning or dawn prayer till the sun rose or when it had risen; he would stand, and they (his Companions) would talk about matters (pertaining to the days) of ignorance, and they would laugh (on these matters) while (the Holy Prophet) only smiled.
