None of you should say:" My soul has become evil," but he should say:" My soul has become remorseless."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ لاَ يَقُلْ أَحَدُكُمْ خَبُثَتْ نَفْسِي وَلْيَقُلْ لَقِسَتْ نَفْسِي
None of you should say:" My soul has become evil," but he should say:" My soul has become remorseless."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ لاَ يَقُلْ أَحَدُكُمْ خَبُثَتْ نَفْسِي وَلْيَقُلْ لَقِسَتْ نَفْسِي
The Prophet ﷺ said, "None of you should say Khabuthat Nafsi, but he is recommended to say 'Laqisat Nafsi."
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لاَ يَقُولَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ خَبُثَتْ نَفْسِي وَلَكِنْ لِيَقُلْ لَقِسَتْ نَفْسِي
The Prophet ﷺ said, "None of you should say Khabuthat Nafsi but he is recommended to say 'Laqisat Nafsi (See Hadith No. 202)
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لاَ يَقُولَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ خَبُثَتْ نَفْسِي وَلَكِنْ لِيَقُلْ لَقِسَتْ نَفْسِي
None of you should say: "My soul has become evil," but he should say: "My soul has become remorseless." This hadith has been transmitted on the authority of Abu Bakr with a slight variation of wording.
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لاَ يَقُولَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ خَبُثَتْ نَفْسِي وَلَكِنْ لِيَقُلْ لَقِسَتْ نَفْسِي هَذَا حَدِيثُ أَبِي كُرَيْبٍ وَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ لَكِنْ
None of you must say Khabuthat nafsi (My heart is heaving), but one should say Laqisat nafsi (My heart is being annoyed).
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ لاَ يَقُولَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ خَبُثَتْ نَفْسِي وَلْيَقُلْ لَقِسَتْ نَفْسِي
None of you should say Ja’shat nafsi (My heart is being agitated), but one should say Laqisat nafsi (My heart is being annoyed).
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لاَ يَقُولَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ جَاشَتْ نَفْسِي وَلَكِنْ لِيَقُلْ لَقِسَتْ نَفْسِي
None of you must say Khabuthat nafsi (My heart is heaving), but one should say Laqisat nafsi (My heart is being annoyed). (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4978)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا يَقُولَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ إِنِّي خَبِيثُ النَّفْسِ وَلَكِنْ لِيَقُلْ إِنِّي لَقِسُ النَّفْسِ
"لا يَقُولَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ خَبُثَتْ نَفْسي، ولكِن لِيَقُلْ: لَقِسَت نَفْسي".
"لا يَقُولَنَّ أحَدُكُمْ جَاشَتْ نَفْسِي، ولكِن لِيَقُلْ: لَقِسَت نَفْسي".
