malik:47-4Mālik > Balaghah

Yahya related to me from Malik that he had heard that A'isha, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ said, "A man asked permission to come in to see the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I was with him in the house and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'He is an evil member of his tribe.' Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave him permission." A'isha continued, "It was not long before I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ laughing with him. When the man left, I said, 'Messenger of Allah, you said what you said about him, and then before long you were laughing with him.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, 'Among the most evil of people is the one whom people are cautious with because of his evil.' "

tirmidhi:1996Ibn Abū ʿUmar > Sufyān b. ʿUyaynah > Muḥammad b. al-Munkadir > ʿUrwah b. al-Zubayr > ʿĀʾishah

"A man sought permission to enter upon the Messenger of Allah while I was with him, so he said: 'What an evil son of his tribe, or brother of his tribe.' Then he admitted him and spoke with him. When he left, I said: 'O Messenger of Allah! You said what you said about him. Then you talked politely with him?' He said: 'O 'Aishah! Indeed among the evilest of people are those whom the people avoid, or who the people leave, fearing his filthy speech.'"

Abū ʿĪsá said that this Ḥadīth is Ḥasan-Ṣaḥīḥ.

Grant him permission. (and also added: ) He is a bad son of his tribe or he is a bad person of his tribe. When he came in he used kind words for him. 'A'isha reported that she said: Messenger of Allah, you said about him what you had to say and then you treated him with kindness. He said: A'isha, verily in the eye of Allah, worst amongst the person in rank on the Day of Resurrection is one whom the people abandon or desert out of the fear of indecency.
