[Machine] "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to distribute to people in the clothing of Bilal on the day of Hunayn. He gave to them, and a man from the people said, 'Be fair, O Muhammad!' He ﷺ then said, 'Woe to you! If I am not fair, then who will be fair? I would have failed and lost if I am not fair.' Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, 'Let me, O Messenger of Allah, strike his neck.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'I seek refuge in Allah from people spreading the rumor that I kill my companions. Indeed, this man and his companions are those who recite the Qur'an, and the Qur'an does not pass beyond their throats.'"
[Machine] Narrated to us Abdul Razzaq, who narrated to us from his book, he said: Mammar informed us from Al-Zuhri, from Umar ibn Muhammad ibn Jubair ibn Mut'im, from Muhammad ibn Jubair ibn Mut'im, that his father informed him that while he was traveling with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the people with him, the Bedouins intercepted them at Hunayn and detained them in Samura. They took his cloak while he was still riding. So he stopped and said, "Return my cloak to me. Do you fear that I am stingy? If the number of these camels were abundance, I would distribute them among you. But you will never find me stingy, cowardly or dishonest."
"When distributing the spoils of war, the Messenger of Allah used to make ten sheep equivalent to one camel." Shu'bah said: "I know most if it from what I heard form Sa'eed bin Masruq, and Sufyan narrated it to me." (Sahih ) (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4391)
A’ishah said “Safiyyah was called after the word safi (a special portion of the Prophet).” (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2994)
[Machine] "That Fatimah, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah, sent to Abu Bakr requesting her inheritance from the Messenger of Allah, from what Allah bestowed upon His Messenger. And Fatimah, may Allah be pleased with her, at that time sought the charity of the Messenger of Allah, which was in Medina and the remaining Khaybar. Aisha said: Abu Bakr said, 'Verily, the Messenger of Allah said, "We do not leave inheritance. What we leave behind is charity, for the family of Muhammad eats from this wealth. They do not have the right to increase their share of what is eaten." And by Allah, I will not change anything about the charity left by the Messenger of Allah.' Fatimah was displeased with Abu Bakr's decision and boycotted him. She did not speak to him until she passed away. She lived for six months after the death of the Messenger of Allah. When she died, Ali ibn Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with him, buried her at night without Abu Bakr's permission. Ali then performed the funeral prayer for her. Ali was the closest person to Fatimah's life. When Fatimah, may Allah be pleased with her, passed away, people turned away from Ali until he rejected them. Ali then sought reconciliation with Abu Bakr and pledged allegiance to him. Abu Bakr was not present during those months, so he sent a message to Abu Bakr asking him to come alone, but Ali did not want Umar to witness their reconciliation due to Umar's severity towards them. Umar said to Abu Bakr, 'By Allah, they should not enter upon you alone.' Abu Bakr replied, 'What harm can they do to me? By Allah, I will go to them.' Abu Bakr entered and Ali said, 'By the One in whose hand is my soul, the kinship of the Messenger of Allah is more beloved to me than my own kinship. But what has come between me and you from these charitable funds, I have not turned away from goodness, nor have I neglected any matter regarding the manner in which the Messenger of Allah dealt with them. I saw the Messenger of Allah do nothing in regards to them except what I have done.' Ali said to Abu Bakr, 'Your appointment is tonight for the allegiance.' After Abu Bakr performed the Dhuhr prayer, he ascended the pulpit, made the supplication, and mentioned Ali's situation and his absence from the allegiance, and his excuse. Then he sought forgiveness and mentioned Ali, showing respect for Abu Bakr. He mentioned that he did not have any influence over Abu Bakr's actions nor did he deny his virtue granted by Allah. But they saw a share for themselves in the matter, and Abu Bakr acted unilaterally. Muslims were pleased with that and said to Ali, 'You have done the right thing.' The Muslims were close to Ali when he reconsidered the matter with good intentions."

when Najdah Al-Haruriyyah rebelled during the Fitnah of Ibn Zubayr, he sent word to Ibn 'Abbas asking him about the share of the relatives (of the Messenger of Allah) -to whom did he think it should be given? He replied: "It is for us, because of our blood ties to the Messenger of Allah allocated it to them, but 'Umar offered us something we thought was less than what was our due, and we refused to accept it. What he offered to them who wanted to get married, and to help the debtors pay off their debts, and he gave to their indigent. But he refused to give them more than that." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4133)

[Machine] On the day of Hunayn, the Prophet ﷺ gave Abu Sufyan ibn al-Harith a hundred camels, and he gave Abu Sufyan ibn Harb a hundred camels, and he gave al-Aqra ibn Habis al-Tamimi a hundred camels, and he gave Uyaynah ibn Hisn al-Fazari a hundred camels, and he gave Abbas ibn Mirdas less than that, so he began to say, "You have made my share and the share of the slaves between Uyaynah and al-Aqra."

[Machine] On the day of Hunayn, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ favored some people in distributing the spoils. He gave a hundred camels to Al-Aqra' ibn Habis and gave the same to 'Uyaynah ibn Hisn, and he favored some noble people from the Arab tribes. A man said, "By Allah, this distribution was not fair and I do not intend to please anyone with it except Allah." I said to myself, "I will inform the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about this." So I went to him and informed him. The face of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ changed, and he said, "Who would rectify if Allah and His Messenger do not rectify?" Then he said, "May Allah have mercy on Musa; he was harmed much more than this, yet he remained patient." I said, "No doubt, I will never attempt to tell him anything after this."

[Machine] About my people, I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have taken a responsibility upon myself for my people, so help me with it." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "Rather, we will carry it for you." He then said, "It is for you in the charity's camels when they come." Then he said, "O Qabeesah ibn Mukhareq, asking for help is only permissible for one of three: a man who has taken a responsibility upon himself for his people seeking reform and he asks until he achieves his goal, a man who is struck by poverty and three of his people testify for him, and he asks until he becomes self-sufficient, or a man who is struck by calamity and he asks until he becomes self-sufficient. Other than these cases, O Qabeesah, asking for help is forbidden." He repeated this statement three times.

[Machine] We accompanied the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to Hawazin, and we were sitting and preparing to offer the afternoon prayer. Suddenly, a man on a red camel appeared and took away a camel belonging to one of our companions. He tied it to his own camel and then came and sat with us to eat. He looked at the faces of the people and noticed their softness, and most of them were on foot. When he looked at the faces of the people, he got up and walked away until he reached his camel. He sat on it and began to ride. He was at the forefront of the disbelievers. One of our companions who had embraced Islam followed him on a camel that belonged to him and was white. His name was Iyas, and he said, "I followed him." My father also followed him, and I unsheathed my sword and struck him on the head. Then I brought his camel and rode on it, taking his belongings. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ with the people approached and asked, "Who killed the man?" I said, "I did." He replied, "You have taken all his belongings."

A horse of Ibn 'Umar fled and the enemy took it. Then the Muslims conquered the enemy and the horse was returned to him during the lifetime of Messenger of Allah ﷺ. And also, once a slave of Ibn 'Umar (ra) fled and joined the Byzantines, and when the Muslims conquered them, Khalid bin Al-Walid returned the slave to him after the death of the Prophet ﷺ. One day the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood among us (to deliver a sermon). He talked about the misappropriation of booty, and declared it to be a serious matter and a grave sin. Then he said: I shouldn't find that any of you should come on the Day of Judgment with a growling camel mounted on his neck, and should appeal to me for help saying:" Messenger of Allah, help me." and I should say: I have no authority to help you; I already communicated to you. I shouldn't find that any of you should come on the Day of Judgment with a bleating ewe mounted on his neck, and he should say to me:" Messenger of Allah, help me," and I should say: I have no authority to help you; I conveyed to you. I shouldn't find that one of you should come on the Day of Judgment with a Person crying loudly mounted on his neck, and he should say to me:" Messenger of Allah, help me," and I should say: I have no authority to help you; I conveyed to you. I shouldn't find that any one of you should come on the Day of Judgment with fluttering clothes wrapped round his neck and he should say to me:" Messenger of Allah, help me," and I should say: I have no authority to help you; I conveyed to you. Umar bin al-Khattab told me: On the day of Khaibar, a group of the companions of the Prophet ﷺ came and said: So and so has been martyred. So and so has been martyred, until they came to a man and said, So and so has been martyred, but the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “No, I saw him in the Fire because of a cloak or 'aba'ah that he stole from the war booty.” Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “O son of al-Khattab, go and call out to the people that no one will enter Paradise except the believers.” So I went out and called to them, saying: ʿNo one will enter Paradise except the believers.” (Using translation from Aḥmad 203)

Abu Hurairah said “We went out along with the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ in the year of Khaibar. We did not get gold or silver in the booty of war except clothes, equipment and property. The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ sent (a detachment) towards Wadi Al Qura. The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ was presented a black slave called Mid’am. And while they were in Wadi Al Qura and Mid’am was unsaddling a Camel belonging to the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ he was struck by a random arrow which killed him. The people said “Congratulations to him, he will go to paradise. But the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ said “Not at all. By Him in Whose hand my soul is the cloak he took on the day of Khaibar from the spoils which was not among the shares divided will blaze with fire upon him. When they (the people) heard that, a man brought a sandal strap or two sandal straps to the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ. The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ said “A sandal strap of fire or two sandal straps of fire.” (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2711)

You observe prayer for your companion. [Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out to Badr and encountered the enemy. When Allah defeated them, a group of Muslims followed them, killing them. Another group surrounded the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and yet another group controlled the army and the spoils. When Allah had finished with the enemy and those who sought them returned, they said to us, "We deserve the spoils because we sought the enemy and Allah granted us victory over them." Those who surrounded the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "By Allah, you are not more deserving of it than us. It is for us because we surrounded the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the enemy did not cause him any harm." Those who controlled the army and the spoils said, "By Allah, you are not more deserving of it than us. It is for us." So Allah revealed the verse: "They ask you about the spoils." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ divided it among them. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to give them shares when they set out for a quarter of the journey, and he would give them shares when they covered a third of the journey. On the day of Hunayn, the Prophet took a share from a side of the mount. Then he said, "O people, it is not permissible for me to take more than what Allah has given you. The fifth belongs to you, so give the thread and the bowstring, and beware of stealing, for it is a disgrace on the Day of Judgment.
