ذِكْرُ مَا يُسْتَحَبُّ لِلْإِمَامِ إِعْطَاءُ الْمُؤَلَّفَةِ قُلُوبُهُمْ مِنْ خُمْسِ الْخُمُسِ

ibnhibban:4827 – al-Ḥusayn b. Aḥmad b. Bisṭām Bi-al-Ubullah > Aḥmad b. ʿAbdah > Sufyān > ʿUmar b. Saʿīd b. Masrūq al-Thawrī from his father > ʿAbāyah b. Rifāʿah > Rāfiʿ b. Khadīj

[Machine] On the day of Hunayn, the Prophet ﷺ gave Abu Sufyan ibn al-Harith a hundred camels, and he gave Abu Sufyan ibn Harb a hundred camels, and he gave al-Aqra ibn Habis al-Tamimi a hundred camels, and he gave Uyaynah ibn Hisn al-Fazari a hundred camels, and he gave Abbas ibn Mirdas less than that, so he began to say, "You have made my share and the share of the slaves between Uyaynah and al-Aqra."  

ابن حبّان:٤٨٢٧ – أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ بِسْطَامٍ بِالْأُبُلَّةِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ مَسْرُوقٍ الثَّوْرِيُّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبَايَةَ بْنِ رِفَاعَةَ عَنْ رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ قَالَ

«لَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ حُنَيْنٍ أَعْطَى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَبَا سُفْيَانَ بْنَ الْحَارِثِ مِائَةً مِنَ الْإِبِلِ وَأَعْطَى أَبَا سُفْيَانَ بْنَ حَرْبٍ مِائَةً مِنَ الْإِبِلِ وَأَعْطَى الْأَقْرَعَ بْنَ حَابِسٍ التَّمِيمِيَّ مِائَةً مِنَ الْإِبِلِ وَأَعْطَى عُيَيْنَةَ بْنَ حِصْنٍ الْفَزَارِيَّ مِائَةً مِنَ الْإِبِلِ وَأَعْطَى الْعَبَّاسَ بْنَ مِرْدَاسٍ دُونَ ذَلِكَ فَأَنْشَأَ يَقُولُ جَعَلْتَ نَهْبِي وَنَهْبَ الْعَبِيدِ بَيْنَ عُيَيْنَةَ وَالْأَقْرَعِ»

You allot the share of my booty and that of my horse between 'Uyaina and Aqra'. Both Uyaina and Aqra' are in no way more eminent than Mirdas (my father) in the assembly. I am in no way inferior to any one of these persons. And he who is let down today would not be elevated. He (the narrator) said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then completed one hundred camels for him.

"عَنْ رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ قَالَ: أَعْطَى رَسُولُ الله ﷺ يَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ أَبَا سُفْيَانَ بْنَ حَرْبٍ، وَصَفْوَانَ بْنَ أُمَيَّةَ، وَعُيَيْنَةَ بْنَ حِصْنٍ، وَالأَقْرَعَ بْنَ حَابِسٍ مِائَةً مِنَ الإِبِلِ، وأَعْطَى عَبَّاسَ بْنَ مِرْدَاسٍ دُونَ ذَلِك، فَقَالَ الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ مِرْدَاسٍ:

أَتَجْعلُ نَهْبى وَنهْبَ الْعُبيْدِ (*) ... بَيْنَ عُيَيْنَةَ وَالأَقْرَعِ

وَمَا كَانَ بدْرٌ وَلاَ حَابِسٌ ... يَفُوقَانِ مِرْدَاسَ فِى مَجْمَعِ

وَمَا كُنْتُ دُونَ امْرِئ مِنْهُمَا ... وَمِنْ يُخْفَضِ الْيَوْمَ لا يُرْفَعِ
