The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to attack the enemy when it was dawn. He would listen to the Adhan; so if he heard an Adhan, he stopped, otherwise made an attack. Once on hearing a man say: Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ remarked: He is following al-Fitra (al-Islam). Then hearing him say: I testify that there is no god but Allah. there is no god but Allah, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: You have come out of the Fire (of Hell). They looked at him and found that he was a goat herd.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُغِيرُ إِذَا طَلَعَ الْفَجْرُ وَكَانَ يَسْتَمِعُ الأَذَانَ فَإِنْ سَمِعَ أَذَانًا أَمْسَكَ وَإِلاَّ أَغَارَ فَسَمِعَ رَجُلاً يَقُولُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ خَرَجْتَ مِنَ النَّارِ فَنَظَرُوا فَإِذَا هُوَ رَاعِي مِعْزًى

That the Prophet ﷺ would not attack except near the time of Fajr, so if he heard the Adhan he would refrain, and if not, then he would attack. So he listened one day and heard a man saying: "Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar," so he said: "Upon the Fitrah." Then he said: "I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah." So he said: "You have departed from the Fire."

[AI] "While we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during one of his journeys, we heard a caller calling, 'Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar.' The Prophet of Allah ﷺ said, 'By instinct, I testify that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah.' The Prophet of Allah ﷺ said (afterwards), 'He came out of the Fire.' Then we pursued him and found him to be a man with a walking stick. Prayer caught up with him, and he called out the adhan."

بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي بَعْضِ أَسْفَارِهِ سَمِعْنَا مُنَادِيًا يُنَادِي اللهُ أَكْبَرُ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ فَقَالَ نَبِيُّ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ فَقَالَ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ فَقَالَ نَبِيُّ اللهِ ﷺ خَرَجَ مِنَ النَّارِ قَالَ فَابْتَدَرْنَاهُ فَإِذَا هُوَ صَاحِبُ مَاشِيَةٍ أَدْرَكَتْهُ الصَّلَاةُ فَنَادَى بِهَا

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ سَمِعَ رَجُلًا يَقُولُ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ قَالَ عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ فَقَالَ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ أَشْهَدُأَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ فَقَالَ خَرَجْتَ مِنَ النَّارِ

[AI] The translation of the passage is as follows: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to repeat the words of the Mu'adhdhin when he heard him saying, 'Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest.' He would say the same words. And when the Mu'adhdhin said, 'I bear witness that there is no god but Allah,' he would say the same words. And when the Mu'adhdhin said, 'I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah,' he would say the same words."

[AI] While the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was on one of his journeys, he heard a caller saying "Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar." So he said, according to his natural disposition, "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah." Then he said, "I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah." He said, "He who testifies to the truth will be saved from the Fire. Look, you will find him either as a shepherd who is oppressed or as a dog with distemper." So they looked and found him as a shepherd. Prayer approached, so he called for it.

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ heard a man while he was walking and saying "Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest". The Prophet ﷺ said, "According to our innate nature (Fitrah)". Then he said, "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah" and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "He is forbidden from Hell". So we rushed to catch up with him, and when the prayer reached him, he called out with it.

سَمِعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ رَجُلًا وَهُوَ فِي مَسِيرٍ لَهُ يَقُولُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ فَقَالَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ ﷺ «عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ» ثُمَّ قَالَ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «حُرِّمَ عَلَى النَّارِ» فَابْتَدَرْنَاهُ فَإِذَا هُوَ صَاحِبُ مَاشِيَةٍ أَدْرَكَتْهُ الصَّلَاةُ فَنَادَى بِهَا

قَالَ كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي سَفَرٍ فَسَمِعَ صَوْتَ مُؤَذِّنٍ يَقُولُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إلاَّ اللَّهُ فَقَالَ أَخْلَصَ فَقَالَ أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ قَالَ خَرَجَ مِنَ الْكُفْرِ قَالَ ثُمَّ نَظَرْنَا فَإِذَا هُوَ رَاعٍ حَضَرَتِ الصَّلاةُ فَأَذَّنَ أَوْ نَحْوَ هَذَا الْكَلامِ

The man then said, "I testify that there is no god but Allah," so the Prophet ﷺ said, "He has testified to the truth." Then the man said, "I testify that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah," to which the Prophet ﷺ said, "He has been saved from the Fire."

Then we hurriedly went to a shepherd in the wilderness. Prayer then approached, so the caller proclaimed it.

Then the Prophet ﷺ said, "You will find this person with either a company of comfortable people or with a company of hunting dogs."

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فِي مَسِيرٍ فَسَمِعَ قَائِلًا يَقُولُ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «دَعْوَةُ الْحَقِّ» فَقَالَ أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «كَلِمَةُ الْإِخْلَاصِ» فَقَالَ أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللهِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «خَرَجَ صَاحِبُهَا مِنَ النَّارِ» ثُمَّ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «تَجِدُونَ هَذَا صَاحِبَ مِعْزًى أَوْ صَاحِبَ كِلَابٍ يَتَصَيَّدُ»

"سَمِعَ النبِيُّ ﷺ رَجُلًا وَهُوَ فِى مَسِيرٍ لَهُ يَقُولُ: أكْبَرُ الله أكْبَرُ الله. فَقَالَ: عَلَى الفِطرَةِ، فَقَالَ: اشْهَدُ أنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلَّا الله فَقَالَ: خَرَجَ مِنَ النَّارِ، فَاسْتَبَقَ القَوْمُ إِلَى الرَّجُلِ فإِذَا رَاعِى غَنَمٍ حَضَرَتِ الصَّلاَةُ فَقَامَ يُؤَذنُ ".
