كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي الْعَصْرَ وَالشَّمْسُ مُرْتَفِعَةٌ حَيَّةٌ فَيَذْهَبُ الذَّاهِبُ إِلَى الْعَوَالِي فَيَأْتِيهِمْ وَالشَّمْسُ مُرْتَفِعَةٌ وَبَعْضُ الْعَوَالِي مِنَ الْمَدِينَةِ عَلَى أَرْبَعَةِ أَمْيَالٍ أَوْ نَحْوِهِ
We used to pray the ʿAsr and after that if one of US went to Quba' he would arrive there while the sun was still high.
كُنَّا نُصَلِّي الْعَصْرَ ثُمَّ يَذْهَبُ الذَّاهِبُ مِنَّا إِلَى قُبَاءٍ فَيَأْتِيهِمْ وَالشَّمْسُ مُرْتَفِعَةٌ
Anas b. Malik reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray the afternoon prayer when the sun was high and bright, then one would go off to al-'Awali and get there while the sun was still high. Ibn Qutaiba made no mention of" one would go off to al-'Awali".
أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُصَلِّي الْعَصْرَ وَالشَّمْسُ مُرْتَفِعَةٌ حَيَّةٌ فَيَذْهَبُ الذَّاهِبُ إِلَى الْعَوَالِي فَيَأْتِي الْعَوَالِيَ وَالشَّمْسُ مُرْتَفِعَةٌ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ قُتَيْبَةُ فَيَأْتِي الْعَوَالِيَ
We used to offer the 'Asr prayer, then one would go to Quba' and reach there and the sun would be still high.

Anas b. Malik said the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say the 'Asr prayer when the sun was high and bright and living, then one would go off to al-'Awali and get there while the sun was still high.
أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُصَلِّي الْعَصْرَ وَالشَّمْسُ بَيْضَاءُ مُرْتَفِعَةٌ حَيَّةٌ وَيَذْهَبُ الذَّاهِبُ إِلَى الْعَوَالِي وَالشَّمْسُ مُرْتَفِعَةٌ
"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray 'Asr, then a person could go to Quba'." One of them [1] said: "And he would come to them when they were prayed." The other said: "And the sub was still high." [1] Both Az-Zuhri and Ishaq bin 'Abdullah narrated it from Anas, so the reference is about them.

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray 'Asr when the sun was still high and bright, and a person could go to Al-'Awali [1] when the sun was still high." [1] Al-'Awali is the southern most district of Al-Madinah, and it is very big. Its nearest limit is at a distance of about two miles from the center of Al-Madinah. While its furthest limit is about eight miles.
أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُصَلِّي الْعَصْرَ وَالشَّمْسُ مُرْتَفِعَةٌ حَيَّةٌ وَيَذْهَبُ الذَّاهِبُ إِلَى الْعَوَالِي وَالشَّمْسُ مُرْتَفِعَةٌ
The Messenger of Allah used to pray 'Asr when the sun was still hot and high, and if a person were to go to the suburbs (of Al-Madinah) he would be able to reach it while the sun was still hot and high.
أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُصَلِّي الْعَصْرَ وَالشَّمْسُ مُرْتَفِعَةٌ حَيَّةٌ فَيَذْهَبُ الذَّاهِبُ إِلَى الْعَوَالِي وَالشَّمْسُ مُرْتَفِعَةٌ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray Asr when the sun was still shining and bright. Then he would go to al-Awalī and he would find it with the sun high in the sky.

Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab that Anas ibn Malik said, "We would pray asr and anyone who then went to Quba would arrive there while the sun was still high."

[AI] "The Prophet ﷺ used to pray the Asr prayer while the sun was still high and radiant. Then, he would go to Al-Awali and the sun would still be high."
«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يُصَلِّي صَلَاةَ الْعَصْرِ وَالشَّمْسُ مُرْتَفِعَةٌ حَيَّةٌ فَيَذْهَبُ الذَّاهِبُ إِلَى الْعَوَالِي فَيَأْتِي الْعَوَالِي وَالشَّمْسُ مُرْتَفِعَةٌ»
ذِكْرُ مَا يُسْتَحَبُّ لِلْمَرْءِ أَنْ يُعَجِّلَ فِي أَدَاءِ صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ وَلَا يُؤَخِّرُهَا

ذِكْرُ خَبَرٍ ثَالِثٍ يُصَرِّحُ بِأَنَّ الزَّجْرَ عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ، أُرِيدَ بِهِ بَعْضُ ذَلِكَ الْبَعْدِ لَا الْكَلُّ
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “No prayer should be offered after ʿAsr unless the sun is bright and still high.” (Using translation from Aḥmad 610)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا يُصَلَّى *الْعَصْرِ إِلَّا أَنْ تَكُونَ الشَّمْسُ مُرْتَفِعَةٌ»

[AI] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the price of the dog, the dowry of the prostitute, and the fee of the soothsayer.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْ ثَمَنِ الْكَلْبِ وَمَهْرِ الْبَغِيِّ وَحُلْوَانِ الْكَاهِنِ
[AI] We used to pray Asr, then the traveler would go to Quba, and they would come to them while the sun was still high.
كُنَّا نُصَلِّي الْعَصْرَ ثُمَّ يَذْهَبُ الذَّاهِبُ إِلَى قُبَاءَ فَيَأْتِيهِمْ وَالشَّمْسُ مُرْتَفِعَةٌ
[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray Asr (afternoon prayer), and then the one who goes to Al-Awali goes. The sun was still high. Al-Zuhri said: Al-Awali is two or three miles away from the city, and I think it is four.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُصَلِّي الْعَصْرَ فَيَذْهَبُ الذَّاهِبُ إِلَى الْعَوَالِي وَالشَّمْسُ مُرْتَفِعَةٌ قَالَ الزُّهْرِيُّ وَالْعَوَالِي مِنَ الْمَدِينَةِ عَلَى مِيلَيْنِ وَثَلَاثَةٍ وَأَحْسَبُهُ قَالَ وَأَرْبَعَةٌ
[AI] "That which is missed of the Asr prayer is as if one has lost his wealth and children."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ الَّذِي تَفُوتُهُ صَلَاةُ الْعَصْرِ كَأَنَّمَا وُتِرَ مَالَهُ وَوَلَدَهُ
[AI] A person asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about praying in a single garment, so he asked, "Do you each have two garments?"
أَنَّ سَائِلًا سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ فِي الثَّوْبِ الْوَاحِدِ فَقَالَ أَوَلِكُلِّكُمْ ثَوْبَانِ؟
[AI] About Ibn Umar's voluntary prayer of the Prophet ﷺ, he said that he would not pray after Friday prayer until he had left the mosque, then he would pray two units of prayer in his house.
عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ فِي تَطَوُّعِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَقَالَ كَانَ لَا يُصَلِّي بَعْدَ الْجُمُعَةِ حَتَّى يَنْصَرِفَ فَيُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْنِ فِي بَيْتِهِ
[AI] "That the Prophet ﷺ forbade the price of a dog, the dowry of a prostitute, and the earnings of a fortune-teller."
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْ ثَمَنِ الْكَلْبِ وَمَهْرِ الْبَغِيِّ وَحُلْوَانِ الْكَاهِنِ
[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The abundance of water should not be prevented in order to prevent coldness."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا يُمْنَعُ فَضْلُ الْمَاءِ لِيُمْنَعَ بِهِ الْكَلَأُ
[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When one of you is invited to a wedding feast, let him attend it."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا دُعِيَ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَى الْوَلِيمَةِ فَلْيَأْتِهَا
"كَانَ يُصَلِّى العَصْرَ وَالشَّمْسُ مُرْتَفِعَةٌ حَيَّة، فَيَذْهَبُ الذَّاهبُ فَيَأتِى العَوَالِى وَالشَّمْسُ مُرْتَفِعَةٌ".
