[Machine] While we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , we were compiling the Qur'an from pieces of parchment. He said, "Glad tidings for Sham!" It was asked, "Why, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "Verily, the angels of the Most Merciful are spreading their wings over it."  

بَيْنَا نَحْنُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ نُؤَلِّفُ الْقُرْآنَ مِنَ الرِّقَاعِ إِذْ قَالَ طُوبَى لِلشَّامِ قِيلَ وَلِمَ ذَلِكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ إِنَّ مَلَائِكَةَ الرَّحْمَنِ بَاسِطَةٌ أَجْنِحَتَهَا عَلَيْهَا  

[Machine] We used to gather around the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as he was compiling the Qur'an. He said, "Glad tidings to Syria." It was asked, "Why, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "Because the angels of the Most Merciful are spreading their wings over it." This narration was reported by Jarir ibn Hazim from Yahya ibn Ayyub, on the condition of Bukhari and Muslim.  

كُنَّا حَوْلَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ نُؤَلِّفُ الْقُرْآنَ إِذْ قَالَ «طُوبَى لِلشَّامِ» فَقِيلَ لَهُ وَلِمَ؟ قَالَ «إِنَّ مَلَائِكَةَ الرَّحْمَنِ بَاسِطَةٌ أَجْنِحَتَهَا عَلَيْهِمْ» رَوَاهُ جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَيُّوبَعلى شرط البخاري ومسلم  

"We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ collecting the Qur'an on pieces of cloth, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Tuba is for Ash-Sham.' So we said: 'Why is that O Messenger of Allah?' He said: 'Because the angels of Ar-Rahman spread their wings over it.'" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3954)   

كُنَّا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ نُؤَلِّفُ الْقُرْآنَ مِنَ الرِّقَاعِ إِذْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «طُوبَى لِلشَّامِ» فَقُلْنَا لِأَيِّ شَيْءٍ ذَاكَ؟ فَقَالَ «لِأَنَّ مَلَائِكَةَ الرَّحْمَنِ بَاسِطَةٌ أَجْنِحَتَهَا عَلَيْهِمْ»  

[Machine] "While we were around the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , compiling the Quran from pieces of parchment, he said, 'Blessed is Sham (Syria).' We asked, 'O Messenger of Allah, why is that?' He said, 'Verily, the angels of the Most Merciful are spreading their wings over them.'"  

بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ حَوْلَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ نُؤَلِّفُ الْقُرْآنَ مِنَ الرِّقَاعِ إِذَا قَالَ «طُوبَى لِلشَّامِ» قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَلِمَ ذَاكَ؟ قَالَ «إِنَّ مَلَائِكَةَ الرَّحْمَنِ بَاسِطَةٌ أَجْنِحَتَهَا عَلَيْهِمْ»  

"عن زيد بن ثابت قال: بينما نحن حول رسول الله ﷺ فولف (*) القرآن من الرقاع إذ قال: طوبى للشام، قيل: يا رسول الله ولم ذاك؟ قال: إنَّ ملائكة الرحمن باسطة أجنحتها عليها".
