And 'Amr was truthful, for with Allah, 'Amr has a great reward." Zuhayr said, "When the fitnah (trial) occurred, I said, 'Shall I follow this (person)?' He (the Prophet) had not said something about him, so I did not leave him."

[Machine] The Qa'nabi narrated to me, and Al-Miqdam ibn Dawud narrated to us, and Asad ibn Musa narrated to us, they said: Sulaiman ibn al-Mughira narrated to us, from Humaid ibn Hilal, he said: Abu Al-A'lya came to me, myself and another person, and he said: "Come, both of you are more knowledgeable than me and more attentive to the narration than me." So he left with us until he brought us to Bishr ibn 'Asim al-Laythi, and he said, "Narrate your narrations to him." Bishr said: "Narrated to us 'Uqbah ibn Malik, and he was from his kindred." He said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent out a military expedition, and it attacked a people. A man from the people separated, and a man from the people of the expedition followed him with a drawn sword. The strange man from the people said: 'I am a Muslim!' But he did not pay attention to what was said, so he struck him and killed him. The news reached the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and he said something severe in it. Then the killer interjected and said: "'By Allah, O Messenger of Allah, he did not say except to seek refuge from being killed.' So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ turned away from him, and those who were facing him among the people turned away. He resumed his speech, then he said it a second time. And, by Allah, he did not say except to seek refuge from being killed.' So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ turned away from him, and those who were facing him among the people turned away. He resumed his speech, but he could not bear it and said it a third time. "'And, by Allah, he did not say except to seek refuge from being killed.' So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ turned towards him, and the severity was evident in his face, then he said: 'Indeed, Allah has forbidden me from killing a believer.'" He (Bishr) said it three times.

[Machine] A group from the army of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ raided the people of a water source in the morning. A man from the people of the water rose up and a man from the companions of the Prophet ﷺ attacked him. He said, "I am a Muslim!" and the companion killed him. When they came to the Prophet ﷺ, they informed him of what happened. He stood up to deliver a sermon, praised Allah and glorified Him, then he said, "As for what follows, what is the matter with a Muslim killing another Muslim while he says, 'I am a Muslim?'" He said, "O Messenger of Allah, he said it seeking refuge." So he turned his face away from him and said, "Indeed, Allah has prohibited me from taking the life of a Muslim." He said this three times.

So, he said, "O Muhammad, I have sent you to test you and to test others through you, and I have revealed a book to you that cannot be washed away by water, which you can recite while awake or asleep." And indeed, Allah has inspired me to attack the Quraysh, so I said, "O Lord, if I do so, they will cut off my head and claim that I have lost my mind." He said, "Extract them as they extracted you, and attack them, and we will support you and provide you with soldiers five times their number, and fight whoever obeys you and those who disobey you." He said, "The companions of Paradise are three: a just ruler, a prosperous and merciful man with a tender heart towards all relatives and Muslims, and a chaste, poor man who gives in charity." And the companions of the Fire are five: a man who never has enough and if he is left with anything, he will only leave what is necessary for himself, and a man who does not enter morning or evening without deceiving you regarding your family and wealth, and the weak, who have no value among those who are with you, they are followers who do not follow the people or their wealth." So, a man said, "O Abu Abdullah, are the followers trustworthy, or are the Arabs?" He said, "They are the followers. They become for a man such that he commits adultery with what is forbidden to him, except for marriage, and they are those who commit indecent acts and engage in lying and stinginess and use foul language towards Abu Muslim."

[Machine] About the Prophet ﷺ , he delivered a sermon and said in his sermon: "Verily, Allah has commanded me to teach you what you were unaware of among what He has taught me on this day. Indeed, all wealth that I distribute among my followers is lawful, and indeed, I have created my followers upon pure natural inclination, all of them. However, devils come to them and divert them from their religion and forbid them what I have made lawful for them, and they command them to associate with Me that which I have not revealed any authority for. Then, indeed, Allah looked upon the people of the earth and disliked them – Arabs and non-Arabs – except for remnants of the People of the Scripture. And He said: 'I have sent you to test you and to test [others] through you. And I have revealed to you a Book which cannot be washed away by water, so you may recite it while in a state of sleep or wakefulness.' And indeed, Allah has commanded me to approach the Quraysh and I said, 'O Lord, if I approach them in that manner, they will seize my head and slander me.' So He said: 'Keep steady and advance upon them in the same way you were advanced upon, and struggle against them with the struggle that they struggle against you. And spend freely, for you will be spent upon, and bring an army as I had brought an army along with you.' And he mentioned the Hadith."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said in a sermon that He commanded me to teach you what you are ignorant of from what He taught me today. Behold, every wealth that I gain for my servants is lawful for them, and I have created my servants pure all of them, and surely the devils have approached them and made them stray from their religion, and forbade what I have made lawful for them, and commanded them to associate partners with me which I have not revealed with any authority. Indeed, Allah looked at the people of the earth before He sent me, so He disliked all of them except for some remnants of the People of the Book. And Allah said: I only sent you to test you and to test the people by you. And I have sent down to you a Book that cannot be washed away by water; you can read it while you are awake or asleep. And Allah revealed to me to attack the Quraysh, so I said, "O Lord, if You destroy them, they would no longer provide bread for me." So He said, "Expel them as they expelled you, and attack them, so We will support you and send an army five times their size. Spend, and you will be spent upon, and fight those who obey you and those who disobey you." And the people of Paradise are three: a just and righteous leader, a compassionate and tender-hearted man to all his relatives, a Muslim and a generous man who spends in charity. And the people of Hell are five: a weak and insignificant man whom no one cares for, those who are subordinate to you and do not seek any good for you, a man who deceives you regarding your family and wealth, a man who cannot hide his greed, and if he knocks on a door, he takes everything with him, and the foolish and obscene joker, and the one who mentions stinginess and lies.

And there will be a blower in the chests of your enemies, causing terror, and We will give you a Book that water cannot erase. I will remind you of it while you are asleep and awake. So look, O Quraysh, and O Quraysh, for they have shed my blood and violated my family. I am their ancestor, and if most of them come to what I call them to, they will either obey or dislike it. [Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pour water and we would speak to him but he would not respond until he reached his place and performed ablution for prayer. We said, 'O Messenger of Allah, we speak to you but you do not respond, and we greet you but you do not return our greetings?' He said, 'Until the verse of permission was revealed, "O you who have believed, when you rise to [perform] prayer..."'"

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah sent to us Al-Walid ibn 'Uqbah ibn Abi Mu'ayt to collect our charity funds. He traveled until he was close to us, after the Battle of Al-Muraysi', then he returned. We followed him and came to the Prophet ﷺ . Al-Walid said, "O Messenger of Allah, I came to a people during their pre-Islamic era, they took their garments and prevented giving charity. The Prophet ﷺ did not change that until the verse was revealed: "O you who have believed, if there comes to you a disobedient one with information" [Quran 49:6]. Then some of the Musterers came to the Prophet ﷺ with a part of their charity that they were driving and the expenses they were carrying. They mentioned this to him and that they had gone out seeking Al-Walid with their charity, but did not find him, so they handed over to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ what they had with them and said, "O Messenger of Allah, we have heard about the departure of your messenger, so we followed him and thought we would meet him, but when we got news of his return, we were afraid that his anger would be upon us." They offered to buy from him what was left of their charity, but the Prophet ﷺ accepted their obligatory charity and said, "Take back your expenses. We do not sell anything from the charity until we receive it." So, they returned to their families, and the Prophet ﷺ sent someone to collect the rest of their charity.
