[Machine] Aiyad ibn Ghanm ibn Zuhair ibn Abi Shaddad ibn Rabi'ah ibn Hilal ibn Dabbah ibn Al-Harith ibn Fehr Aslam. Aiyad is an old name before the Battle of Hudaybiyah and he witnessed the Battle of Hudaybiyah. He was in Sham (Syria) with Abu Ubaidah ibn al-Jarrah. When Abu Ubaidah passed away, Abu Ubaidah appointed Aiyad ibn Ghanm to continue his work. Umar ibn al-Khattab approved his work until his death. Aiyad was a righteous and kind man. He died on the same day he died and he had no wealth or debt to anyone. He passed away in Sham in the year 20, at the age of sixty.
عِيَاضُ بْنُ غَنْمِ بْنِ زُهَيْرِ بْنِ أَبِي شَدَّادِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ هِلَالِ بْنِ ضَبَّةَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ فِهْرِ أَسْلَمَ عِيَاضٌ قَدِيمًا قَبْلَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ وَشَهِدَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةَ وَكَانَ بِالشَّامِ مَعَ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ بْنِ الْجَرَّاحِ فَلَمَّا حَضَرَتْ أَبَا عُبَيْدَةَ الْوَفَاةُ وَلَّى أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ عِيَاضَ بْنَ غَنْمٍ عَمَلَهُ الَّذِي كَانَ عَلَيْهِ فَأَقَرَّهُ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ عَلَى عَمَلِهِ حَتَّى مَاتَ وَكَانَ عِيَاضٌ رَجُلًا صَالِحًا سَمْحًا مَاتَ يَوْمَ مَاتَ وَمَا لَهُ مَالٌ وَلَا عَلَيْهِ دَيْنٌ لِأَحَدٍ وَتُوُفِّيَ بِالشَّامِ سَنَةَ عِشْرِينَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ سِتِّينَ
