[Machine] O my son, indeed the Amir al-Mu'minin is inviting you and bringing you close, and seeking your consultation with the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , so protect me with three qualities: fear Allah and never let a lie be tested upon you, do not disclose any secret to him, and do not backbite anyone in his presence. 'Amir said, so I said to Ibn Abbas, "Every one is better than ten thousand."

[Machine] On the evening of Arafah, he recites Surah Al-Baqarah and Surah Al-Imran, then interprets them verse by verse, and he was standing on a raised platform located to the west.

[Machine] That all people know from it what I know from it, and indeed, I hear that the ruler from the rulers of the Muslims is ruling justly, so I am pleased with it, and perhaps I will never have any dispute with him. And indeed, I hear that the rain has reached the land from the lands of the Muslims, so I am delighted, and I have no objection to it.

[Machine] Muawiyah said to one of his companions, "Let me confide in you." When they sat together on his bed, he said, "O Ibn Abbas, may Allah reward you for your goodness towards Hasan bin Ali." Ibn Abbas asked, "Has he passed away?" Muawiyah replied, "Yes." Ibn Abbas said, "May Allah have mercy on him and be pleased with him, and join him with his righteous predecessors. By Allah, O Muawiyah, your grave will not be closed, your sustenance will not be consumed, and you will not live forever after him. We certainly experienced the greatest loss when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed away, and Allah did not forsake us after him."

[Machine] He has a son called Ibn Abbas. "O Amir al-Muminin, may Allah reward you with the best. Be pleased to know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ has prayed that Allah honors the religion and people with you. The people are in disagreement. So when you embraced Islam, your Islam became a source of honor. Allah manifested Islam through you, the Messenger of Allah and his companions. You emigrated to Medina, and your emigration became a victory. Then, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed away while he was pleased with you."

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said to Mecca, "How sweet and beloved you are to me, and if it were not for your people expelling me from you, I would never have stayed anywhere other than with you."

[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , threw sand and that it is a tradition. He said: "They told the truth and they lied. It is not a tradition, but the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , and his companions and the polytheists were on the mountain of Qu'ayqi'an. He was informed that they were saying that there was strength in it as a joke, and he ordered them to throw sand to show them that it had power."

[Machine] I said to Ibn Abbas, "Your people claim that the Prophet ﷺ threw pebbles between Al-Bayt (the House of Allah) and Safa and Marwa, and that it is a Sunnah (recommended practice)." He said, "They are telling the truth and they are lying. It is not a Sunnah."

[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ threw pebbles at the Kaaba; for indeed, that is a Sunnah. He ﷺ said, "They tell the truth and they lie." I asked, "What did they tell the truth in, and what did they lie in?" He said, "They told the truth in that it is a Sunnah, and they lied in that it is not a Sunnah. Indeed, the Quraysh said, 'Leave Muhammad and his companions from Al-Hudaybiyah until they die a natural death. So when they reconciled with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to come next year and stay for three days in Makkah, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came from the following year, while the polytheists came from Qibla Qa'anah. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ told his companions, 'Throw pebbles at the Kaaba,' but that is not a Sunnah." I said, "Your people claim that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed Sa'i between Safa and Marwa on a camel, and that it is a Sunnah." He said, "They tell the truth and they lie." I asked, "What did they tell the truth in, and what did they lie in?" He said, "They told the truth in that he performed Sa'i on a camel, and they lied in that it is not a Sunnah. Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ could not prevent people from harming him or hitting him, so he performed Sa'i on a camel so they could hear his words and see his position without being able to touch him." I said, "Your people claim that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ raced between Safa and Marwa, and that it is a Sunnah." He said, "They tell the truth. Indeed, when Ibrahim ﷺ was commanded to perform the rituals, Shaytan tried to stop him at Al-Mas'a. So Ibrahim ﷺ raced ahead of him, and then Jibril ﷺ took him to Al-Aqabah Jamarah. Shaytan tried to stop him again and threw seven pebbles at him until he went away. He then went to the middle Jamarah, where Shaytan threw seven pebbles at him until he went away. Then he took him to Al-Jabban, and there was a white shirt on Isma'il ﷺ . So Ibrahim ﷺ said to him, 'O my son, this is not a shirt, so wrap me in it.' Ibrahim ﷺ turned around, and there was a white ram with intact horns, so he slaughtered it. Then Jibril ﷺ took him to Al-Quwaa. Shaytan tried to stop him again and threw seven pebbles at him until he went away. Then he took him to Mina and said, 'This is Al-Mash'ar Al-Haram.' Then he took him to Arafat. Ibn Abbas said, 'Do you know why it is called Arafat?' I said, 'Why is it called Arafat?' He said, 'Indeed, when Jibril ﷺ said to Ibrahim ﷺ , 'Did you know?' He said, 'Yes.' Then Ibn Abbas said, 'Do you know how Tawaf was performed?' I said, 'How was Tawaf performed?' He said, 'Indeed, when Ibrahim ﷺ was commanded to call the people to Hajj, the mountains bowed their heads for him and the villages were raised for him. So he called the people to Hajj and they circled around him.'

[Machine] While the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was sitting in the courtyard of his house in Mecca, Uthman ibn Mazh'un passed by him and greeted the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . The Messenger of Allah ﷺ uncovered himself and said to him, "Do not sit." Uthman replied, "Yes," and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sat facing him. While he was speaking to him, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ suddenly looked up at the sky and stared at it for a while. Then, he started moving his gaze from where he had put it to the right of the ground. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ turned away from his companion Uthman towards where he had put his gaze, shaking his head as if he was waking up from something he was being told. Ibn Mazh'un was watching, and when his need was fulfilled and he woke up to what was being said to him, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ turned his gaze away until it was hidden in the sky. He then returned to Uthman in his original sitting position and said, "O Muhammad, what were you doing while I was sitting with you? I did not see you do this in the mornings." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, "Did you notice that?" Uthman replied, "Yes." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to me, and you were sitting. Did he say anything to you?" Uthman replied, "Yes." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, "What did he say to you?" Uthman said, "Indeed, Allah commands justice, good conduct, giving to relatives, and He forbids immorality, evil, and rebellion. He advises you so that you may remember." Uthman then said, "That is when faith settled in my heart, and I loved Muhammad ﷺ ."

[Machine] I went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and headed to the mosque. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ led the people in the last night prayer until there was no one left in the mosque except him. He then passed by me and asked, "Who is this?" I said, "Abdullah.” He said, "Where is his pillow?" I said, "Al-Abbas instructed me to spend the night with him." He said, "That is true." He then entered and said, "Spread a pillow for Abdullah." I brought him a pillow made of leather. Al-Abbas came forward to me and said, "Do not sleep until you have memorized his prayer." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then came forward and slept until I heard his snoring. He then sat up on his bed and raised his head to the sky and said, "Glory be to the Holy King," three times. He then recited the last verse of Surah Al-Imran {Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth...} He then stood up, performed ablution, and entered his prayer place. He performed two units of prayer that were neither short nor long, then returned to his bed and slept until I heard his snoring. He then sat up on his bed and recited what he had done in the first time, then he performed two units of prayer that were neither short nor long, and returned to his bed and slept until I heard his snoring. He then repeated what he had done previously and performed his Witr prayer. After he finished his prayer, I heard him saying, "O Allah, place light in my sight, light in my hearing, light on my tongue, light in my heart, light on my right, light on my left, light in front of me, light behind me, light above me, light below me, and make me a light on the Day of Resurrection. Grant me abundant light."

[Machine] That his father sent him to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for a need. He said, "So I found him sitting among his companions in the mosque, and I was unable to speak to him. When he finished praying Maghrib, he stood up and bowed until the Muezzin called the Isha prayer, and the people followed. Then he prayed the prayer and stood in bowing until those who remained in the mosque left. Then he went to his house, and I followed him. When he heard my footsteps, he said, 'Who is this?' and turned to me. I said, 'Ibn Abbas.' He said, 'The cousin of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ?' I said, 'The cousin of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ .' He said, 'Welcome, the cousin of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . What brought you?' I said, 'My father sent me with something and something.' He said, 'Did you come at this time?' I said, 'No.' He said, 'If you did not come to your appointment at this time, then you are not leaving.' He entered his house, and I entered with him. I said, 'I would like to see the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ .' So he slept until I heard him snore. Then he woke up and threw his gaze towards the sky and recited these verses from Surah Ali Imran, 'Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth,' until the end of the five verses, until he reached, 'Indeed, You do not fail in [Your] promise.' Then he said, 'O Allah, make light in my hearing, light in my sight, light beneath me, and give me light with You.' And beside him was a container filled with tooth stick from Arak, and he sharpened it, then rinsed, then he stood and prayed two rak'ahs, and again he slept until I heard him snore. Then he woke up and recited verses and invoked supplications, then he washed, then he prayed two rak'ahs, then he slept until I heard him snore. Then he woke up and recited verses and invoked supplications, then he washed, then he prayed two rak'ahs, then he slept until I heard him snore, and he recited the verses, then he invoked with the invocation, then he washed, then he stood and prayed a prayer I recognized he performs more rak'ahs in it. So I came to his left corner, and he took me by the ear and turned me until he positioned me to his right corner. Then he prayed two rak'ahs of Fajr, then he went out to the prayer.

[Machine] Abbas sent me to the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , so I came to him in the evening while he was in the house of my aunt Maymuna. The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , stood up to pray at night. When he finished his two rak'ahs before Fajr, he said, "O Allah, I ask You for mercy from Your grace, which guides my heart, gathers my family, smoothes my hair, returns my loved ones to me, rectifies my religion, protects me in my absence, elevates my status, purifies my deeds, whitens my face, teaches me righteousness, and safeguards me from every evil. O Allah, grant me sincere faith and unwavering certainty that is not followed by disbelief, and show me the honor of Your blessings in this world and the Hereafter. O Allah, I ask You for success in the decree, to be with the martyrs, to live with the righteous, to accompany the Prophets, and to attain victory over the enemies. O Allah, my need has brought me to You, and if my opinion falls short, my actions weaken, and I am in need of Your mercy, so I ask You, O Judge of affairs and Healer of hearts, to save me from the punishment of the Fire, the supplication of destruction, and the trials of the graves. O Allah, if my opinion falls short, my actions are weak, and my wish does not reach what is best, and You have promised one of Your servants or any of Your creation with better than that, then I desire it from You and I ask You, O Lord of the worlds. O Allah, make us guided, rightly guided, not astray nor misguided, a war for Your enemies and peace for Your allies. We love people with Your love and we show enmity to those who oppose You from Your creation. O Allah, this supplication is from me, and the answer is from You. O Allah, this effort is from me, and the success is from You. There is no power or strength except with Allah. O Allah, You are the sturdy rope and the true command. I ask You for safety on the Day of Judgment, paradise on the Day of Eternity with the close witnesses and those who perform prostration and bow in obedience, and fulfillment of commitments. Indeed, You are merciful and affectionate, and You do whatever You will. Glory be to the One who shows mercy and said, "Glory be to Him, praise is not befitting except for Him. Glory be to the Owner of the Throne and Eternity. Glory be to the Owner of power and generosity. Glory be to the One who counts everything with His knowledge. O Allah, place light in my heart, light in my grave, light in my hearing, light in my sight, light in my hair, light in my skin, light in my flesh, light in my blood, light in my bones, light in front of me, light behind me, light on my right, light on my left, light above me, and light beneath me. O Allah, increase me in light, make my light great, and give me light."
