The Prophet of Allah ﷺ took silk and held it in his right hand, and took gold and held it in his left hand and said: both of these are prohibited to the males of my community.

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَلِيَّ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ؓ يَقُولُ إِنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَخَذَ حَرِيرًا فَجَعَلَهُ فِي يَمِينِهِ وَأَخَذَ ذَهَبًا فَجَعَلَهُ فِي شِمَالِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنَّ هَذَيْنِ حَرَامٌ عَلَى ذُكُورِ أُمَّتِي

"The Prophet of Allah [SAW] took hold of some silk in his right hand and some gold in his left, then he said: 'These two are forbidden for the males of my Ummah.'"

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَلِيًّا يَقُولُ إِنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَخَذَ حَرِيرًا فَجَعَلَهُ فِي يَمِينِهِ وَأَخَذَ ذَهَبًا فَجَعَلَهُ فِي شِمَالِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنَّ هَذَيْنِ حَرَامٌ عَلَى ذُكُورِ أُمَّتِي قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ وَحَدِيثُ ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ أَوْلَى بِالصَّوَابِ إِلاَّ قَوْلَهُ أَفْلَحَ فَإِنَّ أَبَا أَفْلَحَ أَشْبَهُ وَاللَّهُ تَعَالَى أَعْلَمُ

"I heard 'Ali say: 'The Messenger of Allah [SAW] took some gold in his right hand and some silk in his left hand and said: This is forbidden for the males of my Ummah.'"

سَمِعْتُ عَلِيًّا يَقُولُ أَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ ذَهَبًا بِيَمِينِهِ وَحَرِيرًا بِشِمَالِهِ فَقَالَ هَذَا حَرَامٌ عَلَى ذُكُورِ أُمَّتِي

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took hold of some silk in his left hand and some gold in his right, then he raised his hands and said: ‘These two are forbidden for the males of my nation, and permitted to the females.’”

سَمِعْتُ عَلِيَّ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ يَقُولُ أَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ حَرِيرًا بِشِمَالِهِ وَذَهَبًا بِيَمِينِهِ ثُمَّ رَفَعَ بِهِمَا يَدَيْهِ فَقَالَ إِنَّ هَذَيْنِ حَرَامٌ عَلَى ذُكُورِ أُمَّتِي حِلٌّ لإِنَاثِهِمْ

I heard ‘Ali ؓ say: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ held some gold in his right hand and some silk in his left hand, then he raised his hands and said: “These two are haram for the males of my ummah.ʿ

سَمِعْتُ عَلِيًّا يَقُولُ أَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ ذَهَبًا بِيَمِينِهِ وَحَرِيرًا بِشِمَالِهِ ثُمَّ رَفَعَ بِهِمَا يَدَيْهِ فَقَالَ هَذَانِ حَرَامٌ عَلَى ذُكُورِ أُمَّتِي

The Prophet ﷺ took some silk in his right hand and some gold in his left hand, then he said: ʿThese two are forbidden for the males of my ummah.”

رَفَعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ حَرِيرًا بِيَمِينِهِ وَذَهَبًا بِشِمَالِهِ فَقَالَ أُحِلَّ لِإِنَاثِ أُمَّتِي وَحُرِّمَ عَلَى ذُكُورِهَا

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ took some silk and placed it in his right hand, then took some gold and placed it in his left hand. Then he raised his hands and said, "These two are forbidden for the males of my nation."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَخَذَ حَرِيرًا فَجَعَلَهُ فِي يَمِينِهِ وَذَهَبًا فَجَعَلَهُ فِي شِمَالِهِ ثُمَّ رَفَعَ يَدَهُ وَقَالَ «هَذَانِ حَرَامٌ عَلَى ذُكُورِ أُمَّتِي»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ took in his hand a piece of gold and a piece of silk and said, "Verily, these two are forbidden for the males of my Ummah and permissible for their females."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَخْرَجَ فِي يَدِهِ قِطْعَةً مِنْ ذَهَبٍ وَقِطْعَةً مِنْ حَرِيرٍ فَقَالَ «إِنَّ هَذَيْنِ حُرِّمَا عَلَى ذُكُورِ أُمَّتِي وَحَلَّا لِإِنَاثِهِمْ»

سَمِعْتُ عَلِيًّا يَقُولُ أَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ ذَهَبًا بِيَمِينِهِ وَحَرِيرًا بِشِمَالِهِ قَالَ «هَذَا حَرَامٌ عَلَى ذُكُورِ أُمَّتِي»
