The people of Najran came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Send an honest man to us." The Prophet ﷺ said, "I will send to you an honest man who is really trustworthy." Everyone of the (Muslim) people hoped to be that one. The Prophet ﷺ then sent Abu Ubaida bin Al-Jarrah.

جَاءَ أَهْلُ نَجْرَانَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالُوا ابْعَثْ لَنَا رَجُلاً أَمِينًا فَقَالَ لأَبْعَثَنَّ إِلَيْكُمْ رَجُلاً أَمِينًا حَقَّ أَمِينٍ فَاسْتَشْرَفَ لَهُ النَّاسُ فَبَعَثَ أَبَا عُبَيْدَةَ بْنَ الْجَرَّاحِ

The Prophet ﷺ said to the people of Najran, "I will send to you an honest person who is really trustworthy." The Companion, of the Prophet ﷺ each desired to be that person, but the Prophet ﷺ sent Abu 'Ubaida.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لأَهْلِ نَجْرَانَ لأَبْعَثَنَّ إِلَيْكُمْ رَجُلاً أَمِينًا حَقَّ أَمِينٍ فَاسْتَشْرَفَ لَهَا أَصْحَابُ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَبَعَثَ أَبَا عُبَيْدَةَ

Messenger of Allah, send along with us a man of trust; whereupon he said: I would definitely send to you a man of trust, a man of trust in the true sense of the term. Thereupon his Companions looked up eagerly and he sent Abu Ubaida b. Jarrah.

جَاءَ أَهْلُ نَجْرَانَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ابْعَثْ إِلَيْنَا رَجُلاً أَمِينًا فَقَالَ لأَبْعَثَنَّ إِلَيْكُمْ رَجُلاً أَمِينًا حَقَّ أَمِينٍ حَقَّ أَمِينٍ قَالَ فَاسْتَشْرَفَ لَهَا النَّاسُ قَالَ فَبَعَثَ أَبَا عُبَيْدَةَ بْنَ الْجَرَّاحِ

The Messenger of Allah said to the people of Najran: "I will send you a trustworthy man with you, who is indeed trustworthy." The people craned their necks to see, and he sent Abu 'Ubaidah bin Jarrah.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ لأَهْلِ نَجْرَانَ سَأَبْعَثُ مَعَكُمْ رَجُلاً أَمِينًا حَقَّ أَمِينٍ قَالَ فَتَشَوَّفَ لَهَا النَّاسُ فَبَعَثَ أَبَا عُبَيْدَةَ بْنَ الْجَرَّاحِ

[AI] The master and Al-'Aqib came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, send your trustworthy person with us." Waki' added: "So the Prophet ﷺ said, 'I will send with you a trustworthy person, a true trustworthy person.' So the people were honored, and Abu 'Ubaidah ibn al-Jarrah was sent."

جَاءَ السَّيِّدُ وَالْعَاقِبُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ابْعَثْ مَعَنَا أَمِينَكَ وَقَالَ وَكِيعٌ مَرَّةً أَمِينًا قَالَ سَأَبْعَثُ مَعَكُمْ أَمِينًا حَقَّ أَمِينٍ قَالَ فَتَشَرَّفَ لَهَا النَّاسُ فَبَعَثَ أَبَا عُبَيْدَةَ بْنَ الْجَرَّاحِ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لِأَهْلِ نَجْرَانَ لَأَبْعَثَنَّ إِلَيْكُمْ رَجُلًا أَمِينًا حَقَّ أَمِينٍ قَالَهَا أَكْثَرَ مِنْ مَرَّتَيْنِ فَاسْتَشْرَفَ لَهَا النَّاسُ فَبَعَثَ أَبَا عُبَيْدَةَ

[AI] The hypocrites and the leader came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Send with us a trustworthy man." The Prophet ﷺ said, "I will send with you a trustworthy man, a trustworthy man, a trustworthy man." So the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ assigned Abu 'Ubaidah ibn al-Jarrah to accompany them.

جَاءَ الْعَاقِبُ وَالسَّيِّدُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَاأَرْسِلْ مَعَنَا رَجُلًا أَمِينًا فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ سَأُرْسِلُ مَعَكُمَا رَجُلًا أَمِينًا أَمِينًا أَمِينًا قَالَ فَجَثَا لَهَا أَصْحَابُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى الرُّكَبِ قَالَ فَبَعَثَ أَبَا عُبَيْدَةَ بْنَ الْجَرَّاحِ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ لِأَهْلِ نَجْرَانَ «لَأَبْعَثَنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ أَمِينًا حَقَّ أَمِينٍ» فَاسْتَشْرَفَ لَهَا النَّاسُ فَبَعَثَ أَبَا عُبَيْدَةَ بْنَ الْجَرَّاحِ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ came to the bishops of Najran, Al-Aqib and Al-Sayyid, and they said, "Send with us a trustworthy man, a true trusty." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I will send with you a trustworthy man." So, the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ esteemed Abu Ubaidah ibn al-Jarrah for this, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Rise, O Abu Ubaidah ibn al-Jarrah," and he sent him with them.

أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَسْقُفَا نَجْرَانَ الْعَاقِبُ وَالسَّيِّدُ فَقَالُوا ابْعَثْ مَعَنَا رَجُلًا أَمِينًا حَقَّ أَمِينٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ « لَأَبْعَثَنَّ مَعَكُمْ أَمِينًا» فَاسْتَشْرَفَ لَهَا أَصْحَابُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «قُمْ يَا أَبَا عُبَيْدَةَ بْنَ الْجَرَّاحِ» فَأَرْسَلَهُ مَعَهُمْ

قَالَ جَاءَ أَهْلُ نَجْرَانَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالُوا ابْعَثْ إِلَيْنَا رَجُلًا أَمِينًا فَقَالَ لَأَبْعَثَنَّ إِلَيْكُمْ رَجُلًا أَمِينًا حَقَّ أَمِينٍ فَتَنَافَسَ النَّاسُ فَبَعَثَ أَبَا عُبَيْدَةَ بْنَ الْجَرَّاحٍ ؓ وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لَا نَعْلَمُهُ يُرْوَى عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ إِلَّا بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ

"عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ: جَاءَ أَهْلُ نَجْرَانَ إِلَى النَّبِىِّ ﷺ فَقَالُوا: ابْعَثْ لَنَا رَجُلًا أَمِينًا، فَقَالَ: لأَبْعَثَنَّ إِلَيْكُمْ أَمِينًا حَقَّ أَمِينٍ، أَمِينًا حَقَّ أَمِينٍ، قَالَهَا ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ، فَاسْتَشْرَفَ النَّاسُ لَهَا، فَبعَثَ أَبَا عُبَيْدَةَ بْنَ الْجَرَّاحِ".

"عَنِ ابنِ مَسْعُودٍ أَنَّ أَسْقُف بن نَجْرَان (*) أَتَى النَّبِىَّ ﷺ فَقَال: اِبْعَثْ مَعِى رَجُلًا أَمِينًا حَقَّ أَمين، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ الله ﷺ لابْعَثنَّ مَعَكَ رَجُلًا أَمِينًا حَقَّ

أَمِين فَاسْتَشْرَفَ لَهَا أَصْحَابُ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لأبِى عُبَيْدَة بن الجْرَّاحِ اذْهَبْ مَعَهُ".
