ahmad:23272 – Wakīʿ > Sufyān > Abū Isḥāq > Ṣilah b. Zufar > Ḥudhayfah

[Machine] The master and Al-'Aqib came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, send your trustworthy person with us." Waki' added: "So the Prophet ﷺ said, 'I will send with you a trustworthy person, a true trustworthy person.' So the people were honored, and Abu 'Ubaidah ibn al-Jarrah was sent."  

أحمد:٢٣٢٧٢ – حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ صِلَةَ بْنِ زُفَرَ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ

جَاءَ السَّيِّدُ وَالْعَاقِبُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ابْعَثْ مَعَنَا أَمِينَكَ وَقَالَ وَكِيعٌ مَرَّةً أَمِينًا قَالَ سَأَبْعَثُ مَعَكُمْ أَمِينًا حَقَّ أَمِينٍ قَالَ فَتَشَرَّفَ لَهَا النَّاسُ فَبَعَثَ أَبَا عُبَيْدَةَ بْنَ الْجَرَّاحِ

The people of Najran came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Send an honest man to us." The Prophet ﷺ said, "I will send to you an honest man who is really trustworthy." Everyone of the (Muslim) people hoped to be that one. The Prophet ﷺ then sent Abu Ubaida bin Al-Jarrah.  

البخاري:٤٣٨١ – حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ صِلَةَ بْنِ زُفَرَ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ ؓ قَالَ

جَاءَ أَهْلُ نَجْرَانَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالُوا ابْعَثْ لَنَا رَجُلاً أَمِينًا فَقَالَ لأَبْعَثَنَّ إِلَيْكُمْ رَجُلاً أَمِينًا حَقَّ أَمِينٍ فَاسْتَشْرَفَ لَهُ النَّاسُ فَبَعَثَ أَبَا عُبَيْدَةَ بْنَ الْجَرَّاحِ

Messenger of Allah, send along with us a man of trust; whereupon he said: I would definitely send to you a man of trust, a man of trust in the true sense of the term. Thereupon his Companions looked up eagerly and he sent Abu Ubaida b. Jarrah.

ibnmajah:135 – [Chain 1] ʿAlī b. Muḥammad > Wakīʿ > Sufyān [Chain 2] Muḥammad b. Bashhār > Muḥammad b. Jaʿfar > Shuʿbah > Abū Isḥāq > Ṣilah b. Zufar > Ḥudhayfah

The Messenger of Allah said to the people of Najran: "I will send you a trustworthy man with you, who is indeed trustworthy." The people craned their necks to see, and he sent Abu 'Ubaidah bin Jarrah.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ لأَهْلِ نَجْرَانَ سَأَبْعَثُ مَعَكُمْ رَجُلاً أَمِينًا حَقَّ أَمِينٍ قَالَ فَتَشَوَّفَ لَهَا النَّاسُ فَبَعَثَ أَبَا عُبَيْدَةَ بْنَ الْجَرَّاحِ

[Machine] The hypocrites and the leader came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Send with us a trustworthy man." The Prophet ﷺ said, "I will send with you a trustworthy man, a trustworthy man, a trustworthy man." So the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ assigned Abu 'Ubaidah ibn al-Jarrah to accompany them.
