Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: O Abu' al-Mundhir, do you know the verse from the Book of Allah which, according to you, is the greatest? I said: Allah and His Apostle ﷺ know best. He again said: Abu'l-Mundhir, do you know the verse from the Book of Allah which, according to you, is the greatest? I said: Allah, there is no god but He, the Living, the Eternal. Thereupon he struck me on my breast and said: May knowledge be pleasant for you, O Abu'l-Mundhir!

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَا أَبَا الْمُنْذِرِ أَتَدْرِي أَىُّ آيَةٍ مِنْ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ مَعَكَ أَعْظَمُ قَالَ قُلْتُ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ يَا أَبَا الْمُنْذِرِ أَتَدْرِي أَىُّ آيَةٍ مِنْ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ مَعَكَ أَعْظَمُ قَالَ قُلْتُ اللَّهُ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ الْحَىُّ الْقَيُّومُ قَالَ فَضَرَبَ فِي صَدْرِي وَقَالَ وَاللَّهِ لِيَهْنِكَ الْعِلْمُ أَبَا الْمُنْذِرِ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Abu al-Mundhir, which verse of Allah's Book that you have is creates ? I replied: Allah and His Apostle know best. He said: Abu al-Mundhir, which verse of Allah's that you have is greatest ? I said: Allah, there is no god but He, the Living, the Eternal. Thereupon he struck me on the beast and said: May knowledge be pleasant for you, Abu al-Mundhir.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَبَا الْمُنْذِرِ أَىُّ آيَةٍ مَعَكَ مِنْ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ أَعْظَمُ قَالَ قُلْتُ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ أَبَا الْمُنْذِرِ أَىُّ آيَةٍ مَعَكَ مِنْ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ أَعْظَمُ قَالَ قُلْتُ { اللَّهُ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ الْحَىُّ الْقَيُّومُ } قَالَ فَضَرَبَ فِي صَدْرِي وَقَالَ لِيَهْنِ لَكَ يَا أَبَا الْمُنْذِرِ الْعِلْمُ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ asked him, "Which verse in the Book of Allah is the greatest?" He said, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He repeated it several times and then said, "O Abu Al-Mundhir, the verse of the Throne is the greatest." He said, "May knowledge bring you blessings, O Abu Al-Mundhir, by the One in whose hand is my soul, indeed it has a tongue and two lips that sanctify the King at the foot of the Throne."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ سَأَلَهُ أَيُّ آيَةٍ فِي كِتَابِ اللهِ أَعْظَمُ؟ قَالَ اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ فَرَدَّدَهَا مِرَارًا ثُمَّ قَالَ أُبَيٌّ آيَةُ الْكُرْسِيِّ قَالَ لِيَهْنِكَ الْعِلْمُ أَبَا الْمُنْذِرِ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ إِنَّ لَهَا لِسَانًا وَشَفَتَيْنِ تُقَدِّسُ الْمَلِكَ عِنْدَ سَاقِ الْعَرْشِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Abu Mundhir, which verse in the Book of Allah do you see as the greatest?" Abu Mundhir replied, "I said, 'Allah! There is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence.'" The Prophet then struck his chest and said, "May knowledge bring you joy, Abu Mundhir."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «أَبَا الْمُنْذِرِ أَيُّ آيَةٍ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ أَعْظَمَ مَعَكَ؟» قَالَ قُلْتُ {اللَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ} [البقرة 255] قَالَ فَضَرَبَ صَدْرِي وَقَالَ «لِيَهْنِكَ الْعِلْمُ أَبَا الْمُنْذِرِ»

"يَا أَبَا الْمنْذِرِ: أَتَدْرِى أىّ آيَةٍ في كتَابِ اللهِ مَعَكَ أَعْظَم؟ قَالَ: آيَةُ الْكُرْسِى. قَالَ: ليَهِنَكَ الْعِلمُ أَبَا المُنْذِرِ، فَوالذَّى نَفْسِى بِيَدِهِ، إِنَّ لَهَا لِسَانًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَشَفَتَيْنِ تُقَدِّسُ الْمَلِكَ عِنْد سَاقِ الْعَرْشِ".

"عَنْ أُبَىٍّ قَالَ: قَالَ لي رَسُولُ الله ﷺ يَا أَبَا الْمُنْذِرِ! أَىُّ آيَةٍ مَعَكَ في كِتَاب الله أَعْظَمُ؟ قُلْتُ: {اللَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ} (* *)، فَضَرَبَ في صَدْرِى

وقَالَ: لَيَهْنِكَ الْعِلْمُ، فَوَالَّذِى نَفْسِى بِيَدِهِ إِنَّ لَها للسَانًا وَشَفَتَيْنِ تُقَدِّسُ الْمَلِكَ عِنْدَ سَاقِ الْعَرْشِ".
