6.44 The virtue of Surat al-Kahf and Ayat al-Kursi

٦۔٤٤ باب فَضْلِ سُورَةِ الْكَهْفِ وَآيَةِ الْكُرْسِيِّ

muslim:809a – Muḥammad b. al-Muthanná > Muʿādh b. Hishām from my father > Qatādah > Sālim b. Abū al-Jaʿd al-Ghaṭafānī > Maʿdān b. Abū Ṭalḥah al-Yaʿmarī > Abū al-Dardāʾ

If anyone learns by heart the first ten verses of the Surah al-Kahf, he will be protected from the Dajjal.  

مسلم:٨٠٩a – وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ الْغَطَفَانِيِّ عَنْ مَعْدَانَ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ الْيَعْمَرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ حَفِظَ عَشْرَ آيَاتٍ مِنْ أَوَّلِ سُورَةِ الْكَهْفِ عُصِمَ مِنَ الدَّجَّالِ  

muslim:809b – [Chain 1] Muḥammad b. al-Muthanná And Ibn Bashhār > Muḥammad b. Jaʿfar > Shuʿbah [Chain 2] Zuhayr b. Ḥarb > ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. Mahdī > Hammām > Qatādah Bihadhā al-Isnād > Shuʿbah from Ākhir al-Kahf > Hammām from Awwal al-Kahf Kamā

At the end of Surah al-Kahf, but Hammam said: At the beginning of Surah al-Kahf.  

مسلم:٨٠٩b – وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى وَابْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ح وَحَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ جَمِيعًا عَنْ قَتَادَةَ بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ قَالَ شُعْبَةُ مِنْ آخِرِ الْكَهْفِ وَقَالَ هَمَّامٌ مِنْ أَوَّلِ الْكَهْفِ كَمَا قَالَ

هِشَامٌ  

muslim:810 – Abū Bakr b. Abū Shaybah > ʿAbd al-Aʿlá b. ʿAbd al-Aʿlá > al-Jurayrī > Abū al-Salīl > ʿAbdullāh b. Rabāḥ al-Anṣārī > Ubay b. Kaʿb

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: O Abu' al-Mundhir, do you know the verse from the Book of Allah which, according to you, is the greatest? I said: Allah and His Apostle ﷺ know best. He again said: Abu'l-Mundhir, do you know the verse from the Book of Allah which, according to you, is the greatest? I said: Allah, there is no god but He, the Living, the Eternal. Thereupon he struck me on my breast and said: May knowledge be pleasant for you, O Abu'l-Mundhir!  

مسلم:٨١٠ – حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الأَعْلَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى عَنِ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي السَّلِيلِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ رَبَاحٍ الأَنْصَارِيِّ عَنْ أُبَىِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَا أَبَا الْمُنْذِرِ أَتَدْرِي أَىُّ آيَةٍ مِنْ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ مَعَكَ أَعْظَمُ قَالَ قُلْتُ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ يَا أَبَا الْمُنْذِرِ أَتَدْرِي أَىُّ آيَةٍ مِنْ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ مَعَكَ أَعْظَمُ قَالَ قُلْتُ اللَّهُ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ الْحَىُّ الْقَيُّومُ قَالَ فَضَرَبَ فِي صَدْرِي وَقَالَ وَاللَّهِ لِيَهْنِكَ الْعِلْمُ أَبَا الْمُنْذِرِ
