[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to observe Iʿtikāf (spiritual retreat) during the last ten days of Ramadan until Allah took him. Then his wives observed Iʿtikāf after him. Abu ʿAbdul-Raḥmān narrated it from Al-Laith from Az-Zuhrī from Saʿīd as a Mursal Hadith.

الكبرى للنسائي:٣٣٢٢ – قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ قَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ شِهَابٍ عَنِ الِاعْتِكَافِ وَكَيْفَ سَنَّهُ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ وَعُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّهَا أَخْبَرَتْهُمَا

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ «يَعْتَكِفُ الْعَشْرَ الْأَوَاخِرَ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ حَتَّى تَوَفَّاهُ اللهُ ثُمَّ اعْتَكَفَ أَزْوَاجُهُ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ» قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ رَوَاهُ اللَّيْثُ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ مُرْسَلًا

muslim:1172c – Qutaybah b. Saʿīd > Layth > ʿUqayl > al-Zuhrī > ʿUrwah > ʿĀʾishah

'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may peace he upon him) used to observe i'tikif in the last ten days of Ramadan till Allah called him back (to his heavenly home). Then his wives observed i'tikaf after him.

مسلم:١١٧٢c – وَحَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ؓ
