The Apostle of Allah ﷺ used to offer the noon prayer when the sun declined.
كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يُصَلِّي الظُّهْرَ إِذَا دَحَضَتِ الشَّمْسُ

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يُصَلِّي الظُّهْرَ إِذَا دَحَضَتِ الشَّمْسُ
Jabir b. Samurah reported that Bilal used to call for the noon prayer when the sun had declined.
أَنَّ بِلاَلاً كَانَ يُؤَذِّنُ الظُّهْرَ إِذَا دَحَضَتِ الشَّمْسُ
The Prophet used to pray Zuhr when the sun had passed its zenith.
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يُصَلِّي الظُّهْرَ إِذَا دَحَضَتِ الشَّمْسُ
"The Prophet used to pray the Hajir prayer, which you call 'Zuhr', when the sun had passed its zenith."
